Which of these zones should be next?
Definitely need me some Crystal Desert and/or Maguuma Wastes. I think one of the number one issues in the game right now is that there isn’t quite enough diversity in the landscapes.
Looking forward to Maguuma Wastes and the Crystal Desert the most. Would be interesting to see how much they’ve changed since GW1.
Scar of Kralkatorrik. That would then lead to the crystal desert and Elona.
Or Far Shiverspeaks + Blood Legion Homelands for EotN areas.
“A release is 7 days or less away or has just happened within the last 7 days…
These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”
Tarnished Coast into Ring of Fire.
I’ve said this before and ill say it again:
Not crystal desert. It’s supposed to be filled with undead and I’ve had enough.
I’d go with Maguma and Ring of Fire. Save Crystal Desert for when an Elona expansion is about to come out and it can lead into the expansion.

Not zhaitan’s zombies (which are mostly human in Orr), though. These are undead from Joko’s horde. They had a lot bigger variety (human, tengu, centaur, giants, etc.)

To be honest ? All of them. It’s an RPG, right ? Normally, you try to expand your universe as time go by if you want an interesting story…
Now, the real thing is: when will we see this ?
Probably never, seeing how Anet devs aren’t working on new stuff (not a new backpack I mean).
Just wait for the next part of Living Story ! It’ll entertain you ! …for a few hours.
I want the rest of Meguuma.
Ring of Fire only if we can get closer to water dragon. ;s I want some of that delicious unending ocean.
My vote is for either Ring of Fire or the areas east of Orr (Orr Remains, Elon River, Crystal Desert).
Lorewise, at the end of the personal story we (aparently) destroy Zaithan, makes sense for the push to continue from there to reclaim nearby lands.
From a gameplay perspective, other areas marked in that map would need some heavy design work to diferentiate themselves from other areas that already exist (jungle, heavy snow and so on), while we don’t have open desert areas or full on volcanic areas in the game (mount maelstrom is close, but it’s only a smaller area within a full map)
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
Maguma Wastes, absolutely MUST find our more about the second Pale Tree.
Gotta go to the Crystal Desert/Scar of Kralkatorrik . I want revenge for Glint Lyssa darn it

You think you can handle a Shadow of the Colossus-like battle with the most OP sized dragon ever? :O I’d cry and run away like Logan did.

erm…I HIGHLY doubt that we’ll never see these areas.
The first year, GW2 has been building a HUGE amount of resources. From here on out, they can build upon a solid foundation. And we will see some new areas in the next year (I’m thinking either the Dominion of Winds or the Magumma Wastes is next)
And to give you an idea as to how huge the world is the devs get to play with…the red square represents all of GW2 (not including Mist areas [sPvP and WvW])

Meh, I’m pessimistic about these things, but I hope that they’ll get to it eventually X)

YOU might Run away but i would never do that ! I may however advance to the rear .

can you imagen it if that WHOLE map would be playable ?
can you freaken imagen ?
sad that it will never happen
I have a feeling that we will get half of the ( current ) map then the game dies. after a few years.
if I think about it in the current speed we never gonna see any big zone that worths something.
-Total War: Warhammer
-Guild Wars 2
(edited by Zoltreez.6435)
I’m most interested in Orange: Far Shiverpeaks.
I’d be curious about brown, just because it might make a more interesting way to walk to Orr .
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”
- Jareth, King of Goblins.
naw no exspansion they have trouble filing the world as it is but i think crystal desert would be my choice
Crystal Desert / Maguuma
I have a feeling pop up adds will be even more annoying in GW2.
I still have nightmares over the cripple spider and kitten scorpions.
I am torn between Dominion of Winds (Bring on the Tengu!!!) and Isle of Janthir.
Janthir would be fun, because we just don’t know what’s up there. This is all land that really didn’t exist before the rising of Orr.
Any zones would be cool
just NO more undeads PLSSSSSSSS omg PLSSSS
-Total War: Warhammer
-Guild Wars 2
Indigo: Isles of Janthir, Janthir Bay or else blue: Deldrimor Front. I would love to see more of the stone dwarves and I want to see some old-school White Mantle in the mix there! Also, Zoltreez: AGREED!
why does that huge Tyria map look like a giant fish head? Is the Tyrian continent some humongous beast? Have we been living on the head of a humongous monster?
Desert (any). Coz I love desertes and ruins ;p.
We sort of had a glimpse of what the Deldrimor Front could look like with Labyrinthine Cliffs. Hopefully the next time ArenaNet brings back the Bazaar the rest of the zone will have opened up.
There’s that little strip of land between Sparkfly Fen and Mount Maelstrom that needs to be filled with something.
Personally I’ve had a gutfull of Undead after Orr, and I’m not a huge fan of Water combat so I would rather see the maps expand to the North West and cover Magus Falls, Maguuma Wastes, Isles of Janthir and the Woodland Cascades. If Crystal Desert wasn’t full of Undead It would definitely be first choice, and I’d love to see what happened to Sea of Sorrows region but I’m tired of the water combat.

To be fair, Orr was built on Zhaitan.
My vote would be for the shiverpeaks, because I love the Norn. At this point I think we’d all be happy with anything, when it comes to new areas.
Woodland cascades or Isles of Janthir. Anything to get away from those Risen, so tired of those.
Crystal desert is next. And I look forward to it.
I’m looking at that map, thinking back to GW, and thinking ahead with what GW2 could do with those areas and I’m getting excited. I can’t wait until they openmore of this map up!
Crystal Desert is probably the most popular first choice. I’d love to see some different kinds of enemies there, something harkening back to our GW ascension, and of course Glint story stuff.
Charr Homeland could hold a lot of good potential story stuff that touches on the past. And Kralkatorrik is up there too. Well, he was anyway.
Far Shivers because the norn are a fun race to be around. And Jormag.
The Maguuma Wastes could be pretty epic looking. When I first logged into GW2’s beta and walked into Caledon I was blown away with how gorgeous it looks. I’m thinking they can do Maguuma right.
I think they could bring back the Mursaat in the Maguuma Wastes too <evil grin>
[TTBH] [HATE], Yak’s Bend(NA)
I want to see all of them really but if I had to choose I would say Deldrimor Front, Scar of Kralkatorrick and the Blood Legion Homelands.
Mind you that wall at the Dominion of Winds has driven me crazy since launch
Crystal Deserts or Maguma Waste.
either:
Sand: Ring of Fire
Blue: Deldrimor Front
Baby Blue: Scavenger’s Causeway, Elon River
Please give us a keyring…
Gray: Orr Remains
We already go there in the Arah Explorable dungeon, explore a large part of it.
I would love the Crystal Desert or Maguuma Wastes. I want to see what is there now. It would also be great to have a change of land type from the ones we have now.
I think Dominion of the Winds will happen too. Just not sure when.
Ring of fire obviously.
Ring of fire obviously.
it would be a nice addition but it is “the mordor of the game”… I prefer they add this at the end when there is no more land to add rather than have another empty beach map. I trust their creativity no more and don’t want them to invent new hazardous maps in the future.

At this point I don’t care… Anything new they can come up with. I barely touched the game this week beside the new dungeon and when I went back in yesterday I just fell asleep in WvW.
Ok so opening up each area will bring up certain directions for the Living Story to take:
Isles of Janthir – researching Mursaat technology?
Woodland Cascades – more on Centaur and their lore
Far Shiverpeaks – take the fight to Jormag
Bloodlegion Homelands – more on Charr lore
Maguuma & Magus – delving deeper into Sylvari and Pale Tree origin and purpose, possible Mordremoth
Scar of Kralkatorrik – way to Crystal Desert, take the fight to Kralkatorrik possibly or whatever is in the remains he left behind
Crystal Desert – oh man lots of history here; old ruins of ancient civilization, undead, Forgotten? Tomb of Primeval Kings, Ascension, Glint’s doorway, road to Elona…
Deldrimor Front – more on Dwarves, their lore and their keeps
Orr Remains – is Zhaitan really dead? more on Arah, ruins of the old city of the gods
Dominion of the Winds – more on Tengu, lore and possible new playable race?
Somewhere hot and warm. That way Anet will be obligated to give us something else that tights and turtle necks.
are you asking for bathing suit armor?

You forgot Giants . They use to roam the Crystal Desert so one could easily see several giants in a Crystal Desert mapfor GW2 perhaps even with events . You also had the Hydra, Enchanted and various Scarabs to deal with too. Who knows given the shift in the Elon we may see somme foes more native to Elona there too either way i hope its the ext area to open .
