Who's Taking Over for CC Danicia?
Who ever it is has large shoes to fill. CC Danicia was a great community coordinator. She will be missed.
Aw. She was great during her time at SOE and did a fine job here in a tough crowd. I wish her the best.
Aww, this is a shame. I wonder if she’ll still play the game.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
hope she noticed my signature.
All the best, Danicia! You’ll be missed!

Because we can’t be angry about both?
She will be missed, and she will be fine.

I’m really curious why she no longer works at Anet. O.o

It’s natural to be curious, but it is almost always best for stuff like that to be kept between employer and employee, so I wouldn’t hold my breath.

From the Tweets she made, it look like a disagreement on how they wanted her to handle her position as CM. This is only an assumption, don’t take my word on that.
I just really hope Anet isn’t pulling a Blizzard. A few years back, Blizzard was hot stuff. Then Activision came along… They got a new CEO and “coincidentally” a LOT of employees started leaving Blizzard. In fact, that’s how Anet started: former Blizzard employees. Lots of great studios were started by “former Blizzard employees.” Basically all the real talent got fed up with the direction Blizzard was going, and they left to find their own way.
Anyway it just seems to me that an awful lot of talent has left Anet over the last 2 or 3 years… What does that say about Anet as a company?
Talent is always transitive in all industries with talent. There are a lot of reasons for that. There’s always a bigger company that offers more money. Anet isn’t a huge company, and there are companies that can offer more.
There’s plenty of people who have worked for Anet since Guild Wars 1 and they’re still there. What you have to watch out for is when big lay offs happen, because that’s when companies are in trouble.
A few individuals moving (and that’s all we really know about), it’s a relatively small percentage of a 300 person company.
It’s always easiest to exaagerate in the absence of facts. Anyway, expect this thread to be closed.
I should be given this job. Long have I served the people of this fine establishment. Ye who come to me unwashed and weary are bathed within the aura of my scumbaggery.
Could you imagine the chaos that would ensue of Anet hired me. hahahaha
I would wholeheartedly support both of you guys working at Anet. :P
It would be a bit like electing Adam Carolla to a political office. Everyone would hate it, but he would probably do more actual good for this country than most…

Hopefully it isn’t another case of “communicating too much with the community, thus setting a standard the rest of the company feels pressure to follow” situation. To be fair, though, no heads rolled for that (that we know of), just finger wagging.
I really don’t want this to be a speculation thread. It’s not fair to Danicia. I just want to know who we are getting to fill her shoes.
I’d say it’s Mark K. Generally Danicia has been the one to deal with my forum support stuff, and lately it’s been Mark. So I’d guess he’s either acting CC or the permanent one.
And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.
I’m sure she has good reason for moving on and it doesn’t necessarily mean she’s unhappy where she is. Very few people stay in the same job for decades any more.
Thanks to Danicia for a long stint of graceful work in one of the most stressful parts of the gaming industry.
I still remember one Anet employee posting a farewell thread and some guy said “farewell threads are against the code of conduct”. That was just so much win.

I wish her well. CMing for a major MMO must be one challenging job.

Oh noes! I thought it was lies at first, but then I verified that on 7 July she indeed tweeted that was her last day at Anet
Community managers like her are really hard to find, let alone replace. She’s top notch, I have no doubt she’ll be successful wherever she decides to go next.
