As my topic title says, last year quarts and charged quartz dropped from wintersday gifts and all the way up until this new 2014 wintersday event.

After the patch they all vanished from the drops. What gives?

The only bug was in 2013 that they appeared too often , as in every box you opened dropped a green one and every few boxes a charged one. After that it was made more rare yet still dropped, and now this year: none what so ever!

Probably because this year we have Dry Top to provide a steady supply of quartz into the economy, when last year it was just whatever people sold from their home nodes.

I have horrible luck on quartz nodes to hit a charged… Opening boxes was a godsend for me as I could get enough charged and make my full set of ascended celestial. Now it going to be much harder with just my personal node and charging once a day and looking around blind in Dry Top.

I think it might be because we now have more permanent ways to get more Quartz so giving them away in gifts is no longer needed. In addition to the rather meager offerings of the home instance, we now have them scattered around Dry Top, including a Rich Node in the Skritt lair.

Mind you, we do also have more USES for the quartz as well, as both recent stat combinations use it as well as some other stuff like Mawdrey. So its not like it would have been completely redundant to put them in the gifts, but I still think the higher supply has a lot to do with it.

They need to at least up the charged drop rate in those nodes. I rather have spent 100s of gold to get a much more guaranteed drop than hit only what 4 nodes on a tiny map?

Last I checked they where dirt cheap on the TP. If you have hundreds of gold you get thousands of crystals.

Still the day wait per charge is a problem. And yes I’m sitting on 115 g atm. I might go back to tot farming with balms.
