Fort Aspenwood here: I pretty much play exclusively in the mid-level zones. I enjoy them quite a bit. To give a 100% unbiased opinion on my experiences in FA.

In a typical night of let’s say 2hrs of playing, usually with my GF duo-ing, which boy makes all the difference since we can kite pretty much any Champion, I’d say we come across 10-12 unique people. That would be last night’s example, in Fields of Ruin.

Not sure if you’d consider that empty or not. Odds are there are more than just those in that zone since I can’t be everywhere at the same time, so let’s maybe assume there are 20 people in that zone (8:30-10:30pm EST).

All I can say is that I barely notice if there are people with me or not. If anything, I prefer soloing or duoing events because then it makes me feel like I personally made the difference. Most of the time 1 or 2 others will come out of the woodwork when I’m on an event.

There are definitely more players in lower level zones than in mid-level, so you have to consider that as well. Field of Ruin is also a zone less traveled since it does not border many other zones, so consider that as well.

In Gendarran Fields I’d estimate that I see 25-40 (depending on time) unique people as I wander across that zone doing events.

Empty implies 0 people, so you definitely want to define what empty means to you.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

Strange… I’m on Tarnished Coast, playing from Australia, and I usually have no problems running into other players. Things are definitely quieter during my evenings (which is when the US is asleep), but there’s usually still about 10 – 20 people scattered across any map I’m in. I mostly go solo though, so unless there’s a Group Event or a Champion I’m having trouble with, it doesn’t bother me that the map is quiet.

Which populated servers for PvE around my level do you guys reccomend i guest to???

Because my server is literally empty when i try to do my quests, events, defending areas etc.

Sea of Sorrows – unofficial Oceanic Server bar none. Many PvE guilds too..

Saying that i think all servers have taken a hit in populations, SoS is still quite busy but nothing like it was 6 months ago..

Maybe you should make some friends / join a guild / talk in map chat. Here on Aurora Glade there’s always people around.

Whenever I enter a zone I always search for some other players and group up, it’s not that hard to be social you know :p

I have to agree with Vayne on TC. I just did a mad dash from Ebonhawke up through fireheart rise on one of my newer characters today and I ran into other players throughout. Not huge numbers everywhere, but the world felt populated and I didn’t feel alone. And, this mirrors my general experience on TC—it’s why I moved there.

Active, populated servers make a huge difference in quality of life. If you are experiencing low pop syndrome, try guesting on TC and check it out yourself.

If you keep agreeing with me, we’re both going to get a complex. lol

i run around the world and it’s practically like i’m the only one. plus does it even matter that it’s empty……? most people do not want to interact (maybe they could not be bothered, or simply that it’s ultimately unrewarding).

Every server is sort of like that, not many people really level except new players and alts but ultimately the bulk of the community is in higher level regions and in WvW. DB is a very populous server, though. I see players across all maps regularly if I’m playing an alt. o_o?
