I enjoyed this more than Southsun Survival (though I did like that too).
Why isn’t Aspect Arena in the mini-game rotation?

I imagine since it utilizes the aspect skills which the Zephyrites took with them when they left. Hopefully next time they come to trade with us we’ll get that game back.
Really enjoyed Aspect Arena
yeah that’s weird, Kiel won so her game aspect arena would of stuck around, cept shes using evons game
oh well, I didnt like it cause it really hurts on the wrist
I thought it really wasn’t that popular. I played it a bit, and even if I left (i.e., went back to the Cliffs to restart) to try to get in with a different bunch of players, I’d end up with the same 6-7 people.
I really liked Aspect Arena and i dont usually like any, figures.

the mini games tend to lock you to a match. I know this from my experience with keg brawl were I’m sure multiple other games are going on.
Aspect Arena played too slowly.
If movement speed was substantially increased, and cooldown time on the skills was reduced, I believe it would have been a lot better.
For example, it was both a chore and a bore to make your way, all the way to the crystal ball, and then make your way all the back to base at an even slower than normal speed. Argh! I played it only for the achievement/reward.—which is not to say it didn’t have its moments.
It wasnt much fun, sanctum sprint and southsun on the other hand were brilliant imo.
That’s all up to personal opinion. I personally loved aspect arena and completely destest the hunger games.
Fact is that they decided not to implement the aspect arena even before it was released. It was never in Kiel’s promises. I guess both sprint and arena would have been too much of the same in their eyes.
I still think it sucks, I loved that minigame.
I see the reason we have no aspect arena being that it is teambased. All the ones we now have (i don’t know about kegbrawl tough never done it) are singeplayer based minigames. Besides aspect arena we lack the dragonball from dragon bash and the snowball thingy from winter. So I see it like they only bring the singleplayer focused minigames back

Keg Brawl is team based.
I’ve been asking myself, the selection of 4 mini games seems very arbitrary.
Based on forum feedback, yes, I think Sanctum Spring and Southsun Survivor were more popular than Aspect Arena. But Aspect Arena was less hated than Crab Toss.
A good reason to bring Crab Toss back would have been to allow people to complete their achievements, as those were broken during the event so people who didn’t get them early later didn’t have the chance – but that’s not even the case here.
Soooo… I really don’t know!
PS: I liked Aspect Arena.

The different skill sets were suited to different things in the game.
The sun aspect was best for carrying the orb and scoring – with the speed boost you could score with some of the middle orbs in seconds.
The lightning aspect was best for intercepting and stopping opposing orb carriers.
I didn’t do much with wind, but I think it’s good for supporting/defending your own carrier.

the interesting mechanic is that you couldn’t always be using one aspect to score all the time. I thought it was done very well and am also sad to see it go.
I’d say the main reason for it would probably be that since the Zephyr Sanctum is going to be an annual event, they wanted to save one of the events to use as part of that. That means either Sanctum Sprint or Aspect Arena (Southsun Survival has nothing to do with Zephyrites even if it was introduced during the ZS event), and I’d say AA probably “embodies” the Zephyrites a bit more than Sprint does.
The fact that AA is a team game could also factor in, as all the other games are single player. With the daily activity achievement some people are just going to enter the game, and then do nothing besides tapping a movement key or using auto-run to prevent kicking, just to get the daily achieve (I’ve already seen a couple topics with people saying they’ve done exactly that). In a solo / free-for-all type situation, that sort of thing doesn’t really hurt anyone (aside from giving someone an easy kill I guess). In a team game, it can mess up the whole team. So perhaps better to keep all the games single-player for that reason. Or perhaps they just wanted a “theme” to the rotation where it was all single-player games.
Bleh, Southsun was boring. It was either die at the 2-minute mark then wait 10 minutes for everyone else to die, or hoard rations and camp out in a secluded area for 20 mintes.

Actually, a lot of people had fun dying in the first 30 seconds and maximizing points by building up motes in the first initial melee where revenge tokens abound. Then hunting down and bothering the crap out of and/or killing other players with all the skills you could use.

This gives a pretty good reasoning onto why they didn’t include aspect arena. However, I wouldn’t agree with it, I can understand it. It would be nice if Arenanet posted something on their choice of games. I never see them post on anything that has to do with content. I’ve only seen them post on arbitrary topics like the voice actor for the announcer in Queen’s Gauntlet… >.>

If that is the case, then why is Sanctum Sprint in the daily rotation? And Keg Brawl is a team based game, so not all the games in the rotation are single player.
I hate Southsun Survival and Aspect Arena happens to be my favorite mini-game. Thought it was good riddance for Evon and his sucky game when he lost. I voted for Ellen lol.

That’s what I do, I find a secluded spot and camp there till I die just to get the 15 games requirement for the achievement lol. It is too painful to play with limited arrows and always looking for rations etc, no offense to those who love the game, but it feels boring to me.
