Why was monthly reset?
Well, this is a real downer. ANet Y U D O DIS???!!
The fact that those that finished it ealry can go and do it again and get doubble reward this month, but those of us that dont have quite as much time get punished. Real nice anet -.-
I would ask for compensation, but from other similar stuff your only gona add even more too those that allready get doubble so…..
I spent a couple days doing invasions specifically to get the monthly completed, had 3/4 this morning and just needed to do a daily to complete it… now I am back at 1/4. This is utterly ridiculous, I want my 2 days back!
Yeah, I did invasions last night despite being tired of them all instead of goofing around on an alt specifically to work on those parts of the monthly, and those are the parts that they cut out. If I had known this was going to happen I would have just played the alt, enjoyed myself quite a bit more, and wouldn’t have been unhappy today.
You don’t get a special prize if you finish off your monthly way, way early.
Everyone who completed early gets the reward twice so what’s your point!?

This. I didnt spend my game time in the Queensdale rotation because its fun. And I didnt do more invasions this weekend long after they’d lost their luster for fun either.
All I wanted to do was knock out the Monthly as fast as possible so I could concentrate on the awesome SAB and new content coming out today.

This is so kitten!! I mean get some forward planning in place!! Know your patch and adjust your monthly before it starts! I don’t have endless time on this game but I was on all weekend and like most others was 3/4 done pve with today being my last daily?? What the hell guys!!! Give us a break at least leave us the point we received for finished categories, even if you removed the category!! Just a bigkittento all your loyal players!!
It’s the 3rd, you have 27 more days to do it. It’s not like they did it on the 28th. You don’t get a special prize if you finish off your monthly way, way early.

Early Completion: 10 Laurels
Second Completion 10 Laurels + Ascended mats?Whereas people who didn’t complete it early get:
10 Laurels + Ascended mats.
ANet should have had a check to see what players had already completed the monthly and given the ascended mats to the account via mail. But that’d require actual thought and consideration, and that doesn’t generate gem sales, so we can see why they didn’t.
So lame, getting sick of the kitten poor implementation of Anet’s buggy and poor quality mini patches.
Don’t bother asking for reverting this change. Hear this failNET: you don’t respect me as your customer, my time and efforts have no value for you? Fine. You won’t see a single gem purchase from me anymore.
PS. Rollbacks are done only as last resort when something terrible happens with the database. You could have just mail the essence to those who already completed their monthly. Your lack of planning is astonishing.. oh wait, it’s not…
I am so mad right now about this. Why the hell wouldn’t you say in the patch notes that the monthly will be reset?
I was 3/4 on my monthly and all I needed was a few more dailies to complete it. Now I am at 1/4!!? Not only that, but players who finished it already will be able to get 20 laurels this month instead of 10? How is that fair? Laurels accumulate so slowly that it really ticks me off that I got screwed like that.
Seriously how hard is it to freaken put in the patch notes: HEY WERE RESETTING THE MONTHLY!!!

Simply mail the players who finished their monthly in like 2 days the crafting mats, don’t screw over everyone else and let those lucky enough to have finished it get double rewards!

You will always be rewarded in this game for doing things quickly and either right before or right after a patch. This is a consequence of no PTS or QA team.

2) Some people will get 20 laurels instead of just 10 – Dead whoop, fortune favors those who played over the US holiday.
3) I will have to do it again – Why? You got your reward right, it wasn’t taken away right? It’s just that green monthly reminder will be on screen. Does it gnaw at your soul or something, whispering “do me”? Or is it because you didn’t get the new monthly loot.
Reminds me of a quote in someone’s sig at my old MMO. “If the game gave out free $20 bill people would complain they weren’t sequentially numbered. If they became sequentially numbered people would start complaining they weren’t random enough.”

If this was an oversight, and they make it up, I’m good. However, if it was an intentional “kitten you,” and they don’t fix it, I’m not.
Two weeks ago ANet kittened people off by introducing the karma consumables revamp with no warning. This month, they arbitrarily change the monthlies, wiping progress for people who had partially completed them, again with no warning.
I appreciate that ANet’s ambitious schedule means there is going to be time crunch in getting patches out, and that mistakes happen. However, how much extra work was required to data mine to locate all the people who used karma consumables after the last patch hit, then mail them their karma back? How much time would have been required to issue a warning? If they even try to make this current gaff up to people, how much more time is going to be spent on damage control?

Its really not hard to understand… I need laurels really bad right now, and I’m kitten ed that some players are being given 20 instead of 10 due to luck. I am also kitten ed that my 3/4 monthly with 1 daily to go got wiped to 1/4, but that’s not as big of an issue.
The bottom line is it is wrong to WITHOUT WARNING reset the monthly, basically screwing part of the playerbase out of 10 laurels. How hard would it have been to include in the patch notes: Hey we are resetting the monthly. Tell me, how hard?
Bogus. From 3/4 to 1/4 on my monthly AND those who finished their monthly already and got their 10 laurels get to get another 10, TOTALLY UNFAIR.

Not recommended that would likely be considered a exploit. Along the lines of if it is too good to be true it probably is.
I had mine finished in the first day (yay WvW!). Hopefully, I’ll be able to do it again.

Wow guys , tomorrow was my 4/4 and monthly was done , from Jumping Puzzles to Mystic salvage kit usages ? and a few of them reset ? What gives , great patch guys !!!

They’re mad because of the rewards they missed out (or will miss out). Those that didn’t complete the monthly before the update will lose out on the karma and laurels. Those that completed the monthly but couldn’t complete it before their next patch today will miss out on the laurels and essence of luck. Those who don’t have a job or whatever other reason and could be on today are the ones who benefit.
