But I’m not a crafter! I hate crafting!

I’m very, very disappointed in this monthly. Should have put 5 dungeons or 5 fractals, as well as 100 WvW kills…

Kinda disappointed with this monthly, most of them required me to change my play style and do things I wouldn’t normally do,only thing this one needs me to do differently is make some greens in crafting which seems more of a chore than anything else.

It’s funny how some rejoice.. yet I see the crafting bit and get really irritated. :p I wish they’d extended choice to monthlies as well. I’d greatly prefer to do fractals and dungeons over crafting.

Me too. But the same way I can argue for dungeons or WvW being in the mix when people see them and become irritated I can see why they put crafting in. It’s an aspect of the game that many people don’t participate in and they want players to give it a go.

Great. Just great. I have a bank tab filling up with salvage items and no salvage this month. Ah well, keep stacking them!

The crafting one threw me for a loop at first until I realized it was masterwork and up. For some reason I didn’t know what to do so did a little digging on the net. Next thing I know I’m using the Mystic Forge to craft a satchel recipe (which counted I think…), then creating a satchel of armor for my level 65 ele. I now know not only about satchels but also how to do it… and I’d never even considered them before.

A monthly that’s teaching me something. Curse you ArenaNet! (In a good way, of course.)

For me I feel this months is rather boring

I actually like for the monthly to push me to do different type of content, I wouldn’t normally do many dungeons but the monthly promotes that. I like the way they normally push you to try all the differnet areas of the game, WvW, Fractals, Dungeons, Xmas, Halloween etc…

This month I won’t even have to think about it, it will just happen in the background. I like the dailies happening in the background but like to have task for the monthlys.

Just my 2 pence, hope it makes sense

I personally like this monthly as well WvW, I might be a little reluctant to get into, but it is pretty fun. Dungeons, though, I’m not a huge fan, but I can understand that people who have a lot of good buddies to play with would probably rather do that than play a UI minigame that will likely result in net loss of gold.

Having said that, I realize that my play-style isn’t the only one that matters, so I think being able to choose your monthly quotas would be a great way to make everyone happy. There’s a difference between being “dumbed-down” and having multi-faceted appeal. “Dumbed down” would be rewarding people for all doing the same trivial mindless task, and being multi-faceted would be giving people a choice among a variety of interesting challenges to pick the ones they enjoy the most. I can understand why some people might feel that the crafting requirement this month is “dumbed down” because let’s face it, crafting isn’t exactly rocket surgery, but I don’t think it should be taken as a sign that the game is being dumbed down. They haven’t nerfed jumping puzzles, they haven’t nerfed fractals, some people are saying that the new DE scaling being tested is “too hard,” and they haven’t started handing out legendaries for free. When they start doing that, you can say they’re dumbing down the game.

Some people love the monthly for March, some hate it. Just goes to show that Anet needs to add the ability to choose for the monthlies (like they were supposed to!) It will cut down on complaints.

I’ve never done the monthly achievement before because it always involved at least one thing I wasn’t interested in or wasn’t ready to do. I strongly suspect I will get it this month.

I was never that bothered about not getting it, but it will be a nice change. (And a nice boost towards getting those laurel minis.)

Thanks for the changes to the Daily and Monthly Acheivements. I’m really enjoying the fact that I can pick what I like to do in the Daily and hope to see some of it in the Monthly. These changes provide positive encouragement and motivation to try all the different aspects of the game instead of requiring us to play those other parts in the middle of trying to acheive something unrelated to those other parts of the game.
We are not being “ushered” or led by a nose ring, we are now being encouraged to try those other game parts based on their own value.
I’d like to see the daily expanded to a second and/or third more difficult level of daily acheivements with reduced reward for players who play more than casually.
Thanks again. Good job!

I missed all the other monthlies because I don’t play dungeons or WvW. Today I crafted for the first time because of this achievement, and I’m glad I did!

Thank you Anet for finally giving me a chance to do my first Monthly since Day 1.

I didn’t mind the dungeons required in Feb. It finally got me into running dungeons. The monthly for March was more like a weekly. I was done in four days and the only part I set to actually complete was the crafting.

March’s monthly is one of the first I’ve seen that I genuinely was happy about. Kudos are indeed deserved.

I’m worried that people want the daily change added to monthlies, too, considering that the daily change only made them more obnoxious than they used to be. Yes, more obnoxious, not harder. They’re still easy, they just require that I go out of my way to earn them now….which is against the “play the way you want to” mentality.

Remember when our developers talked about “strengthening the core game”?
How’d that work out for us so far?
Now let’s try some ideas that will really work.

was there supposed to be more options for March’s Monthly? i had vets/events/craft/dailies.

it took 4 days, because i had to wait for 4th daily, but only 4 options available? i thought it was gonna be as varied as the dailies, allowing me to also choose which ones i wanted.
