Your favorite thing you miss from GW?
Guild Halls!!!!
Commander – Jam Death [Jd]
Fissure of Woe
GUILD HALLS!!
caps intended
If i had to sum it up in one word it would be variety. Both in skills and in armors
What i really want to make a come back however is Profession based armors though . Weight based is all well and good but it would still be nice to have some really distinctive armors for each class where you could say “thats an Engineer” or " thats a Mesmer" just by looking at them.
OP I couldn’t agree more, capturing skills was great!
Seeking out that specific boss you needed for a capture was the best. Fond memories…
Birthdays. /thread.
@ Adine
I agree we need ’’more’’ profession-based armors. you don’t want to make it so that rawhide would be ranger only. for example. I do admit that we need WAY more unique armors for classes. With which you could tell exactly what profession would use those armors. Just take the latest Gem Store additions.. Aetherblade and Magitech Ok great but I’d like my adventurer characters to look like something non-asura-engineerish as well!
in short: Yes for profession-specific armor but keep a lot of neutral armors availlable for all of that armor class. don’t restrict people from wearing a ninja mask on an engineer for example!
a small, casual Guild with a play as you want style.
Being able to play and team with anyone in the world, regardless of where they lived.
Being able to pick a district(overflow) to meet up with people
In other words, a global community
scythes, dervishes, monks, ritualists
Missing the 4 weapon slots and the ability to dye weapons.
Weapon sets and mixed professions. But there is lots more, chests for instance, I know Anet is trolling me with all the broken lockpicks…
PvP. Too bad GW2 doesn’t have it :/
And guild halls, too. Oh and the dervish. That’s some kitten stuff.

GvG and UW+FOW
The classical list:
- GvG
- Guild Halls
- Elite Dungeons (UW, FoW, DoA, Deep, Urgoz)
- Templates
- Elite skills being the centerpiece of your build, not the “I’ll take the least terrible one” skill you just HAVE to take
- The build system
- Being rewarded for difficult content more than for mindless farming
- More and better armors
- Dyeable weapons

The guild facilities, Glasses skins, a lot of emotes, signet of capture.

Agreed thats why i said some . Put armor vendors across Tyria and at each one have a different look depending on the zone . So a vendor in ebonhawk would have a different look for profession armors than one in Frostgorge or Melchior’s Leap
I am really hoping for guild halls soon. I know this isn’t guild wars 1 and such but… Seriously though Guild Halls was a big deal in 1, and I would like to see it again in 2. At least as place for the guild to hangout. Maybe add achievements of some sort that the guild can accomplish, then allow them to show up as trophies, statues, ect in the guild hall much like the Hall of monuments. That would be pretty neat!.
I also wanted to add, the Signet of Capture would be great too, make it so there is skills you can get outside the use of Skill points. Be like a quest or mission for people to have more reasons to explore places to kill something. Some could be random spawn enemies, maybe some in dungeons or rare events that could occur in some of the less popular areas of the game.

I’ve never played GW but things that are most interesting for me are Guild Halls and capturing skills.
Knowing there wasn’t going to be a higher tier of gear.
No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind.
Buy the ticket, take the ride.
600/smite/famine DoA runs, I really miss this when it was new.
Also DoA/UW
S P E L L B O R N —~--Necro —~--Sylvari lvl 80
I Kira I —~--Ele —~--Sylvari lvl 80
Whenever I’m doing a Personal Story quest where you have to work with a group of NPCs, especially Pact soldiers, I really miss the party commands.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
skill, depth and fun.
> Secondary professions and the infinite possibilities this gave
> Trinity roles and group play

> Cantha and Elona

Oh yeah, Cantha. Can’t forget Cantha.

I miss targeting.

I miss targeting.
For the few times we agree with each other, I had to post about it…
It’s odd how they could have such an amazing target system in GW1 and completely screw it up in GW2… I mean, didn’t they have the code/knowhow to do it? Or is it some elaborate troll they did just to mess with us?

Easily attainable max-stat gear.
And my Divine Aura. So gutted I didn’t get anything anywhere near as cool in my GW2 CE.
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
Lore. It’s easier to just have some superbad dragons. But I miss real stories.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Easily attainable max-stat gear.

Wut? It’s too easy in both, and in gw1 it was stupidly easy.
G v G , Guild Halls , Hall of heroes , In Game Guild rankings … sigh
Looking back, I think I miss Signet of Capture the most. I enjoyed hunting down specific skills in specific locations.
Skill points in GW2 are fun at first, but after a while they just start to feel like another thing I tick off the list for a map completion
The importance of different roles. I don’t mind that there’s not a hard holy trinity in GW2, but GW1 you needed healing, some sort of tank/damage sponge (even if it’s spirits/minions), defensive support (imbagon, prot monk, ST Rit, E/Mo bonder), offensive support/control (interruptors and hexers), and dps. In GW2, thanks to defiant, low healing power coefficients on everything but self heals, and inconsistant aggro mechanics (some bosses target lowest health characters at the exclusion of all other possible targets), and the fact that all damage is expected to be dodged, all party members fill 1 role: DPS.

Sometimes the stars align, and we agree.
Yes, I miss how simple it was to target the closest enemy (without having to look at that enemy), or to quickly tab through enemies and get the target you want. Instead we have a rather broken system that loses targets all the time, and frequently targets enemies that are out of range. There could be an enemy right behind me, beating on me, and “target closest” will still select some target far away.
In GW1 it was so simple. I never selected the wrong target, or lost my target. Did they not have time to implement it well? Did they forget how to do it? Or is the current target system simply the result of multiple systems stacked on top of each other, that don’t work well together?

Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
What i miss the most? A none hand holding game, that’s what i miss. i don’t want to press F and collect, i want to earn stuff by playing the freaking thing.

Yeah, well, that’s just, like, your opinion man.
Seriously, there are no rights or wrongs here.
I prefer games where I don’t have to grind for gear and can just got on with playing and getting better.
You prefer games where max- stat gear is the reward and you therefore think it should be difficult to acquire.
They’re both valid opinions.
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.

yea for me too. all the classes feel boring and homogenized in comparison to gw1. the boon and condition system has been reduced to damage/reduce damage system and everything is about damage now. no interesting hexes no interrupts no healers no protters no snarers no team pressure no positioning no reliance on teammates at ALL.
Thing I miss the most?
The team that worked on Guild Wars.. (not just the head guys)

it was a design decision, along with their whole combat system. the idea is that it introduces skill and “active play” along with all their attack skills that need you to be in range and facing the correct direction and line of sight to be unobstructed and terrain to be even and the planets to align.
Guild Halls, GvG.
This and Hall of Heroes
guild halls, applying dyes to weapons, hunting for new skills (like signet and elites).
Easily attainable max-stat gear.

Fair enough..
In my defense, you either need to have easy to obtain armor and great endgame(gw1 had this). Or hard to obtain max gear to compensate for lack of endgame. GW2 so far is great for casuals but it combines the 2 wrong parts imo.
I miss the Ranger class the most.
Talk like a pirate event.
- Heroes and Henchmen
- Gwen in pre searing and having her follow you in the world
- Guild Halls
- Cantha and Elona
- Deep immersive storyline with more seriousness and more memorable characters .
- Selling captured son letters .
Heroes….. hands down, I miss heroes for organized content that requires ‘x’ people.
- Selling captured son letters .
I remember those days…and I hated those people so much. Lol, I was one of the ones that did the runs and gave the letters away for free, since so many people charged outlandish prices for that quest item.
- 8 man parties
- guild halls & capes
- instanced world (sure, open world is cool and all, but I missed not having things degrade into a massive 50 person zerg-fest)
- bad guys not re spawning after or during a fight
- selecting from a pool of skills affected by what weapon your warrior was using

chaos axe
tormented shield

FOW
UW
Cantha
Elona
I miss a lot of things, but if i must pick one, i go for my heroes!!
I miss them hard:(
Especialy: Gwen,Olias & Dunkoro!
In a very special way i miss also Cantha & my Ritualist… … …!
