I want a legendary.

I want to gather everything up on my own. But Anet keeps removing my ability to do so. I farmed the skelks, yes, for bloods and fangs. When I hit 250, I would move on.

I dont want to run CoF path 1 20,000 times, I don’t believe a legendary should be about gold earned. So I highly disagree with running CoF for straight cash.

I honestly don’t know where to go next to finish my T6 mats. It seems Anet removed every way of getting them. Even recently I went to do some events in orr, did about 5 events in a chain, didn’t receive a single moldy bag. Seriously, how the kitten do we do this without buying gold or running CoF?

Or that people who just like to farm (i’m not one of them, i can farm now and then but not for long, i don’t mind if others do that, even if that makes them rich) are probably 50% or more of MMO playerbase. And what will they do if you constantly nerf farming? Well we all know it…

ya I don’t want to get involve in that conversation but it is really people’s expectation.

Some people are happy that they play a few hours and make like a few gold which is “much less efficient” than farming in a specific spot(people like Vayne). Some are not. It really is your expectation.

Flipping is actually the most effort-effective method. And it’s clear from TP values that everyone and their grandma is doing it. …especially in the case of Dust where you have flippers flipping flippers flipping flippers. It’s like an echo-chamer of uncalled-for inflation (though J.Smith will claim otherwise based on Real-World principles that also intentionally obfuscates actual Consumer-Price-Index values)

You’re not the only one. The whole farming community, whatever percentage of the game that is, would probably agree with you. I’m guessing about 15% of the game’s population, but it’s just a guess.

But since I’m tired of seeing complaint after complaint by people who can’t like go around the corner and farm the next thing (because other farmers do it)….no you have to have that “easy” farm.

Going to miss that spot. I only farmed it in a few short sessions, so didnt get that much out of it. Stil, i enjoyed the option of having a spot where one could earn a profit in the open world, as oposed to running cof again and again and again. Then add a few more agains. It’s not like running cof is that a good solution to getting t6 mats either tho, as they need to enter the economy in the first place. If everyone went to cof to get their T6 mats through buying em on the tp, how would the prices develop?:-/

And no need to go on a vayne bash trend, he has his views and we have ours. No need to ridicule him.

Supose if i may sugest it to the op, that having made the topic name something akin to discussion about change to skelk farming or something similar would make more people notice the topic. The curent one can be a bit vague;P

I know this stuns you but I’ll never farm for an hour straight, so I couldn’t possibly tell you. But since armored scale seem to be dropping quite well and since they sell for more than blood at this moment, I’ll go and say that until you try it, you’ll never know.

And if there is one single spot in the game where you can make significantly more than any other spot, for significantly less effort, it should be nerfed. That’s actually good game design, not bad game design.

It’s like an echo-chamer of uncalled-for inflation (though J.Smith will claim otherwise based on Real-World principles that also intentionally obfuscates actual Consumer-Price-Index values)

I’ve seen what happens when flippers price themselves out of the market. Prices crash, and the ones who end up holding the hot potatoes lose everything.

As for their reasoning, I think it’s a difference of opinion between Anet devs who decide the direction of the game itself and a vocal minority of players who are impatient and want their shinies now.

The devs don’t want you to farm the most profitable areas for 10 hrs a day, get a Legendary weapon or two, get bored and move on. It’s inevitable that a small number of players will do this, but they want the majority to be out there in the world and experience everything about the game, not just “I can make 10 gold an hour if I stand here and kill stuff.”

The conflict comes from the players who have already learned this behavior in other games and refuse to change. If you keep looking for the best farming spots, they will keep taking them away.

Storm in a teacup. I’m sure you can make just as much money if not more farming armored scale. The sharks are fantastic.

Okay, put it this way then. I’ve made personally more money in the time I was farming armored scale, as the time I was farming skelk. That is to say I received more armored scale in a shorter amount of time than I did powerful bloods (and the fangs I was getting wasnt’ enough to make up the difference).

Now, this COULD be an abberation because I don’t do it that often, but for my money, I’ve personally made more money farming the armored scales.

Is that better for you?

If I was close to a legendary and needed just a few items to finish it off, I’d gladly buy the gems and get the gold. But with the aggressive removal of any and all farming locations in this game, it’s clear that Anet doesn’t want us to have any option besides the gem store. They seem to think they can bully the population into buying gems and it just isn’t going to work. If they wanted guaranteed money they should’ve charged a sub fee. If they want us to buy gems, make the items in the gem store more attractive. Not everyone wants to wear a fuzzy pink quaggan but clearly plenty of folks on these forums are chompin at the bit for some new armor skins or some better looking weapons.

Whoever is in charge of marketing and strategy over there needs to be shown the door. If the devs want us “to play the game” then they should make more of it attractive to play. Bad planning, bad execution all around.

Apparently shorting the supply of t6 mats and letting the price drive endlessly upward is okay but giving out rares let and right and crashing the price of ectos is cool.

Were skelks an event? I know whenever I happened to pass by there and killed some skelk, there was no event. Though, I must admit, I probably killed more underwater in that area than on land.

I used to go to Southsun for a bit of a farm before the LS but I haven’t since the LS started. No skin off my nose and I’ll go back there when everyone leaves. Farmers need a place to farm though. All Anet has to do is put some spots in (they don’t even have to tell anyone!) away from events and other sorts of content so farmers can get their fix.

Fire up the Hyperbowl ma, we’re going to town!

Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
