Hello! Ive been recently looking into changing servers and ive been wondering what your thoughts are on best overall server based on playerbase, pvp, wvw, and pve. The servers i have been looking at are Blackgate, Jade Quarry, Anvil Rock, and Fort aspenwood. Please respond with your thoughts/suggestions. Thanks!

Tarnished Coast if you like role-playing. Also has nice champ-train population.

Tarnished coast is the best I have been on.

I have to say Tarnished Coast just because I have a serious case of server pride ;P

Actually, we have an official troll on Queensdale that will mess up the train every night. But he is ok I guess. I mean, he is a commander, so you can just follow him.
But yeah, be ready to see people role-playing everywhere. On the emote channel, mostly.

I was on Tarnished Coast for a long time. If you want to run the train, or farm or RP, then it’s a good one.

I ended up transferring to Jade Quarry after guesting on most all the NA servers because there is a healthy population of people who do the events and temples as well as the trains and farming. Not only that, they are pretty good in WvWvW.

Admittedly, all of this is just our opinions. If you end up on JQ, look me up. I’ll run with you.

Tarnished Coast is the best server if you want to wear a dress and do tea party.
Blackgate hosts the best PvE players and has the strongest coverage in WvW.
Anvil Rock hosts the best sPvP players.

Every time I need to do pve things I guest there.

I’m on Tarnished Coast and I absolutely love it here. I think our community is wonderful and there’s always a lot of people participating in things, so I’m down with that too.

Fort Aspenwood. We got the pve’rs. We got the wvw’ers. We got the best Lion’s Arch ever. We also love quaggans. The best server ever.

My home server since launch has been Fort Aspenwood so be warned my opinion is slightly bias. Well we just won Silver league and our wvw community has improved greatly over the last few months in my opinion. You should guest over to FA’s lions arch because 9 times out of 10 there is an absurdly funny conversation going on. I really can’t tell you how many times I have caught myself literately laughing out loud. But honestly you can’t really miss with any of those four servers

As to the Role-Players, and role playing in general – I find it ridiculous and weird. On the other hand, I’m fairly sure some of those RPers find my obsessive min-maxing builds and hyper-competiveness over a video game somewhat ridiculous and weird. So perhaps this is why TC is the best server, because when you mix a large group of weirdo’s together … sometimes you get the most fun.

24/7 champ trains, Teq kills… solid WvW (and the ques to go along with them).

It depends also in what timezone you play. For example if you’re not from either EU or US, the Sea of Sorrows might be better for you, a lot of Oceanic’s there. We get our fair share of US population as well, but it’s still the ‘unofficial’ Oceanic server, and the best one to be on if you’re Asian/Indo/Flip/Aussie/NZ/you get the idea.

OP is shopping for a new NA server, so that’s what we’re focused on.

I tried to guest to an EU server once, and was not allowed to do so. I think it would have been great fun. Oh well.

I’ve been on JQ server since I joined in April, and I like it a lot. Healthy population of players at all times in all play environments. Whatever you’re into, we have plenty of good players to join. Player base seems to be more mature and laid back than other servers I’ve guested on.

TC is an RP server, so if you are into that, TC is your best bet. If you are not into RP, then steer clear of TC. Otherwise, spend some time on the different servers and see about finding a guild that you like.

If you don’t care about sPvP so much….
Then the only thing that matters is which world you WvW for…
So pick the strongest/best for your need based on WvW….
PvE/Champ-trains you can always guest yourself, so don’t pick because of that.

Tarnished Coast has the best carnished toast. We have an RP community as others have mentioned, but I’d also say the non-roleplay community is also the best around. It’s a fairly “jack-of-all-trades” server in that it isn’t THE best at PvE, WvW, or PvP, but it has strong representation in each. Leveling here is also about as good as it gets. I’ve never experienced a deserted zone of any level.

I moved to Tarnished Coast from Fort Aspinwood and haven’t regretted it. I’m not a roleplayer.
