smth wrong i can not download patch it starts fast and goes down to 0%
i check my isp and everything all working good
there is issue or smth?

Is always like this every major release, sportman. Just have to wait and hope it don’t take hours to finish.

This happened last time there was a big patch too. It’s rather like that scene at the end of Airplane! where the reporters all run into a bank of phone booths at once and the phone booths fall over.

It’ll sort itself out eventually.

The whole world and his dog is probably trying to get the patch at the same time.

When it says retrying, can you just leave it and trust it’s really retrying? Or do you need to exit and restart over and over?

And that is the question. I suspect it’s not. According to the window’s resource monitor there is 0 network activity.

Mine is retrying for 3 minuts now.. nothing happened only retrying..

There are queues even in patch notes! Nice!

sigh I avoided this problem last patch somehow, but not this time guess im gonna have to sleep on this one. :-/

My launcher says there was an error retrieving the news feed but I can still play the game…I don’t think so!

I just wish they would get a real patching system. This is verging on tiresome :-( I love the game but getting new builds like this sucks when it takes forever to download.

You can leave it. Mine was retrying but is patching now.

Just wait. Also expect some problems when everyone will try to log in at the same time. It probably will be fixed in a few hours at worst.
I’ll admit that watching the loading screen is boring… Skyrim!

Now it is back to downloading……slowly about 300kbs

Some games will allow you to pre-load the patch, especially if it is a large patch so on patch day you only have to download a minimal patch. Sadly GW2 is not one of those games and at the current rate of progress I should be able to play tomorrow afternoon!

Almost got past the patching, then boom.. Connection error… I wonder how much longer this takes simply due to the fact that people get connection error mid dl, rather then a que system.

I don’t know what they did, lately. The game was lagging and lagging and lagging (connection problem not the graphic ).

It’ll take a long time. I’m stuck at 0kbs/sec, but I’m sure eventually it’ll download once the surge ends.

Ditto, 1st time I have ever had a problem getting a patch.

(even the forums are slow).

Thankfully, if you have to restart the download it’ll start from where it left off. You don’t start from scratch again. Download speed is variable from 0KB/sec to a heady 80KB/sec … this could take some time…

Yeah its borked again I am guessing…. starts then looses connection, over and over and I will hazard a guess it will take a complete install again just like before for me… sigh

I don’t mind too much since I get to restore my guardian’s glow. Yay!

sigh, they really need to do something about this, i think it’s great that they don’t pull the servers down but trying to download these bigger updates takes forever and that’s without these connection issues.

It is downloading, but at 300kbs… And it keeps retrying to connect but after 10 seconds it downloads for 3 seconds and back to retrying.. Now it got on 1% and retrying..

Well, it’s not as if things like P2P have been invented, that could be useful for these things. And it’s not as if other games of this genre use similar systems….

Clearly this thread is full of lies. Have you all not read that the game is dead on all those threads? So its impossible that the servers are stressed from tons of people downloading :P

I started doing something else, and came back to 14%. Not sure how that happened, must be a bug.

to the few whom are gonna get the chance to download patch first and load into the game, enjoy your upcoming riches from buying/selling off all the omnom pie/ghosts and other items
