everything is just too hard
The infamous bear-bow is good for Silverwastes
No really .. i was first there with my warrior that i mostly play, and at some point
switched to my ranger. Normally i run around with a wolf as pet, but poor wolf
died mostly so fast that in the end i really use that infamous bear most of the time.

ah thats an idea, i figure being ranged would be better…so will all the zones be this frustrating going forward or willt hey add some easier zones too?
I run zerker build but just grab any build as long you feel comfortable with it.
is there any build that will make my warrior take minimal damage from sivlerwaste mobs? i dont mind if it takes me longer to kill i just wanna not die in 3 hits…i want to be able to take hits and have my healing signet heal more than the damage i take.
otherwisse a build where i can heal and take little damage to the point where by the time i get 75% heatlh my healing skill will be ready again.
If you don’t want to die in 3 hits, dodge those hits… dodging is simple, double tap the WSAD keys or press V (I think V is the default button). In this game you don’t just stand there and take the damage, you avoid it completely.
If you don’t want to take any kind of damage, mitigate it by using dodge, shield block, endure pain or switch to ranged attacks when low on health, keep your distance, heal up, then go back in.

right on – so with shield will it block automatically? or only when i use the 4/5 skills? cus what i do when they are on cooldown? and lotta times i get knocked down and cant use the shield skills.
usually i run gs/rifle – maybe from now on ill just rifle everything. but rifle doesnt seem to do much damage – maybe ill go full zerk with rifle traits – ill be like a Bounty hunter from SWG lol.

You only block when you use a skill that is a block. You should take a look at what skill options you have available to you to help mitigate the damage you take. As others have pointed out, you also need to utilize your dodges. It sounds like you haven’t spent enough time learning your class in your trek to 80, honestly.

I can’t help you on a warrior build, i dont play one myself but im sure if you ask or read up in the warrior forums i am sure you will find a build or tips how to play it like you want. Also like others have stated, try to be as mobile as you can so you can avoid most damage so it doesnt require you to heal it.

arlight. so if i just play rifle warrior i wont have to doge much? i dont mind dodging but it sucks that if u miss 1 dodge u can die.
There are some problems in Silverwastes .. one is that mobs very often just spawn
out of nothing in your back .. and then that those kitten wolves do massive damage
from your back, and they sometime follow you way longer than mobs in other zones.
And of course that you mostly get crippled and have maybe even torment on you
and when you clen it you directly get it back and so on.
So you really have to be more on your toes than in other zones. As warrior i would
say try at least Knights Armor instead of Berserker .. maybe that already makes a
difference for you.
Putting 3 traitpoints in the defence line could also help a little.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

Rabid necro is super durable and has a place melting husks. Plus the mobs tend to group together alot, making epidemic shine. Bull escorts are particularly good for epidemic bombs.

No you’ll still need to dodge you’ll just have a little longer to react.

Level 80 areas should be about 50% HARDER.
I think 90% of this game can be played untrained and with no armor.
Practice with your 80 in the level 1-15 areas and practice dodging, what skill are, what boons are, what red circles are, what conditions are, where your keyboard is, what a monitor is, what a computer is….
Your welcome.

so what builds do peopel run in silverwastes? is zerk no longer good?
zerker is more than feasible. The only drawbacks here is certain death if caught by a siege rock or getting pounced by multiple dogs, otherwise still very capable of delivering what it was designed to do.
the champion at blue oasis requires for the most part singular power oriented damage. Can get a hand full of people who can deliver the damage and it goes down quite easily with no fuss.
EDIT:
The troll at amber waste still encourages power and application of poisons to kill healers quickly
(edited by IllegalChocolate.6938)
I play GW2 and SWTOR and SWTOR is way more challenging. In this game, you just have to follow a meta build, know your abilities and watch your step. In SWTOR, you need to know tactics to stay alive especially in the class story areas where you have a ton of elites thrown in (that would be veterans in this game) and you have champions. MMOs were not meant to solo. You need help, ask in /M Someone will come along and help you.

Zerk is for players who know how to use active defenses (dodge, blocks, blinds, evades, etc) very well. If you aren’t comfortable dodging, don’t jump on the zerk train.
Try some of these armor stats:
More damage than suvivability:
- Knights
- Valkryes
Less damage, more survivability:
- Sentinals
- Soldiers
Better healing:
- Clerics
-Magi
Pure survivability:
- Nomads
See this page for more details about what these sets offer:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Equipment_acquisition_by_stats
Don’t jump on the zerk bandwagon until you’re ready — It takes a lot of practice and personal skill development to be able to survive in zerk gear. If you’re having trouble surviving, give yourself some defensive stats.
The bad news is you probably aren’t any better at SWTOR either.

Perhaps you are used to your gear carrying you. There is no gear handicap in GW1 or GW2, as you can mindlessly grind your kitten off and your gear won’t carry you anymore than the dungeon exotics you could pick up in less than a week.
So the number of alts and gear reflects skill?

Yet you failed to learn a basics of an easy game like GW2 is with the easiest class like warrior is in more than a half-year playtime. GJ :-)

Weeee, kittening contest!
Here’s the thing, GW2 is actually a really easy game once you get used to it. It’s very different from other MMOs in that each player is expected to take care of themselves wrt healing, damage mitigation, etc. There are a lot of tools available to each class to simply avoid taking damage, and once you get used to them, the game becomes much easier.
I started out with a thief in this game, and I ended up hating it because I had trouble surviving. I ran d/d + shortbow in open world most of the time, and had trouble staying alive. I recently pulled my thief back out recently, and I love it now. Why? Sword/pistol. It gives me permablinds so that my enemy’s attacks all miss me, 2 interrupts for stopping powerful attacks or stripping defiance, a long evade frame from Pistol Whip, and good cleave damage on the auto attack. Dagger/dagger was pure DPS with very little defense — now that I’ve learned the mechanics of this game and how to apply them correctly, I know when to go full DPS d/d and when I need the extra defense s/p gives me.
For warrior, greatsword and offhand sword or shield provide some good defense. Whirlwind attack (GS3) is a nice, long almost instant evade that you can use to avoid getting hit, and the offhand sword and shield have some decent blocks. You can slot Endure Pain as an “Oh kitten!” button for when your health gets low and you need to get away and heal up. Balanced Stance or Dolyak Signet gives you stability if you get overwhelmed by CC.
Hence why people think this game is easy. Once you really get the hang of the defense mechanics, it’s easy to play most content. But even if you’ve mastered other MMOs, the mechanics are very different here and will take some adjustment.
And don’t be afraid to swap in some tankier gear for open-world if you need it.
Hope this helps

Actually, I was the first who wrote an advice with the storyline achievement you mentioned as “too hard to do”, while you completely ignored that and just stated yours “truth”.
So there are two possibilities, you are refusing to play this game properly and complaining, hoping that you achieve something by it, or you’re the worst troll I’ve ever spotted on any forums….
You are funny I will give you that, but honestly if you want to see the worst troll in history just look at your own posts.
Gear still carries you it just carries you differently.
I believe you are referring to a build (ie: zerker for DPS checks, clerics for endurance, PVT for bursts of incoming damage). I am referring to the case of some gear being strictly superior to others, which really is carrying the player (ie: the stats are the same in every way except the numbers are bigger). The latter example is what the OP is bragging about, just having bigger numbers (thus making content easier), and somehow equating bigger numbers making content easier with “skill”.

you are the one thats here to argue, i just came for suggestions with level 80 zones, and you have done nothing but troll.
Ignoring whether you are a troll or not, here’s a summary of what others have suggested that may help you. The correct response to their help would be ‘thank you’.
- Every task in this game that has been designed to be soloed can be done with any class. Some players are able to solo even group tasks.
- Until you learn the game mechanics and the class you are playing, your kitten will be handed to you often. GW2 is not one of those games where once you pump enough levels and gear you become invincible. You are always vulnerable.
- Not every class is suitable for every person’s play style/taste. Find the one that suits you. I play mainly a glass canon thief which can be one-shotted by a lot of enemies. I still do the hardest PvE content in GW2 without issues.
- Each class has its own strengths/weaknesses. Learn them and use the knowledge in fights.
fyi: 186 gear isn’t tradeable (atm) and can only be dropped in HM/NIM ops which require every member of the party to know his class well and do his role.
Which is the point with this game. GW2 doesn’t have roles, you need to learn to do support, damage mitigation and DPS yourself.
Anyway, I’ve posted two definite non-trolly posts with helpful advice, but you seem intent on just bickering with other posters.
If you think they’re trolls, don’t feed them.
Hope you find what you’re looking for.
As i said, warrior is my main…gonna ignore the trolls now, look at their post history they always trolling peoples threads instead of making any constructive posts.
especially lvl 80 areas and i am fully geared and traited and achievements are pretty much impossible. hopefully things will change guess in the meantime ill go back to swtor, dont mind paying 15 a month if i actually enjoy playing the game.
What are you doing and you have a problem? And which Achievements are you talking about?
SIlverwaste its just ridiculously hard and all the events fail and even the story achievements i cant get a single one done.
Silverwaste is EXACTLY what a level 80 area in this game should be. It is MEANT for long time veterans that are looking for a small challenge in PvE content. And yes i said small challenge. I go out there with my guardian in full zerk mode and MAYBE get wiped once over a period of 2 hours and that’s only if i end up doing something completely boneheaded and accept that i made a mistake in who i fought and how I fought them. This is one area that Anet got 100% right in my opinion.
Seriously, I want to help you get through this, but something tells me you don’t think this is a L2P issue and more of a game design issue, and if that’s the case then…oh well, nothing any of us can really offer you here.

I’m just defending myself – they are the ones attacking me on the forums. but thanks for your tips I think I got what i needed from this thread. rifle zerk warrior ftw.
I did an experiment with my mesmer. Running either a rabid torment set (no passive speed) and a rampager set (with trav. runes), with sword/sword and scepter/focus I could not take down the champ husk guy. However, sceptor/focus and staff or GS I got him down solo. Melee is not a good thing in this zone unless it is short and you have a good escape.
I will say I’m having fun running torment and stacking it with clone detonations and running the mobs around to death.

“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
In principle it is not that complicated to die in Silverwastes even with a full soldier warrior. You only need to have just depleted your dodge rolls and then bump into 2 to 3 grifs which permaknock you down. So you have to be careful and situation aware, no matter what equip you carry.
That’s the best advice to give. In GW2 you no longer have tab targeting and static fights, you need to watch and move and cleanse conditions and leave some in store for these “oh kitten ”-moments.
I’m just defending myself – they are the ones attacking me on the forums.
Totally understandable. It helps to remind yourself that if they seem like trolls to you, they’ll seem like trolls to everyone else. No need to defend yourself, it just gives them more fuel ;-) Getting sucked into an argument to derail your own thread is letting the terrorists win!

Here are some tips for your next thread:
+ Don’ t call it like this one ^^
- many people will call you a troll just for doing so.
+ Use the propper forum
- If you feel like not doing well enough, there is a plyer helping player section where you will find help if needed.
+ Think about what you want and how to say it
- just don’t complain about how you were 2-hit by a 80+ enemy wearing full zerk =D
This is neither trolling nor offending you.

Could take shout healing if you like but banner regen is easier.

I cant imagine that its possible to make a game easier than GW2. Its faceroll already
so what builds do peopel run in silverwastes? is zerk no longer good?
I like warrior sprint/sweet revenge on my warrior, as well as condi removal. It’s not the zerker meta, but SW is more solo anyways, so I like the flexibility (and not running back from the waypoint).
Survival recommendations:
- Have a ranged weapon for the thrashers. They run around too much and you can’t chase them.
- Always face the dogs. Always.
- Kill the menders first
I keep my zerker gear on though, just change my build a little. Oh, and ignore the “I have an easy time with this game so everyone who thinks it’s hard is stupid” people. They either are exceptionally good, have played for a long time, or are trolling.
