farming spirit shards?
Do your 3 dailies each day; after completing the three dailies, you will be rewarded with 3 spirit shards. Also, champion bags have a good chance of dropping them, so perhaps Silverwastes chest farm, or other methods of getting champion bags. They do also rarely drop from some mobs (often random dungeon mobs, I forget which, but I have seen them drop) so possibly there as well.
I would reckon the best method is through champion bags.
Out of a couple stacks of champ bags (Heirloom seeds/bandit purses farmed post update) I received 1 spirit shard.
I have had what I think was a single other spirit shard drop from a mob since they changed.
The dailies seem to be by far the most reliable way to get them, by my observation anyway, annoyingly time gated however.

PvP reward tracks are also a good source of shards. PvE is kind of hit and miss but so far I’m averaging 8 to 10 shards for a couple hours of game play.

Either your RNG is terribad or you are exaggerating. My observed spirit shard drop rate from 3k seed bags and 3k embroidered bags is 17%.
Since they go straight to your wallet I don’t notice them since they don’t end up in your inventory so I don’t know other than what’s listed in the wiki as to where they drop. I know I’ve gotten more than the 3 per day from the daily but I know not where.

This has been a sore spot with me concerning the changes. Most that have been playing for a while are sitting on plenty while those just coming in are made to hurry up and wait thanks to the changes.
And silverwaste? over and over and over again till your eyes bleed….yep I’m finding myself logging in less and less to avoid the frustration.

Frostgorge champ train and dungeons.
PvP and use the tomes of knowledge is another method.
