heavenly vambraces and fire god's
Well that’s the negative way to look at it… The other way you can look at it is, A-net is saying Thank you for playing our previous game, and rewarding players for their time and effort there. Who knows; maybe if there is ever a sequel to this maybe GW2 players will get to bring something over.

Anet said there will never be a GW3 lol. GW2 is the last one that will continue to grow. also no, what you said would count if every1 could have it, but the gw1 players would get it with no struggle (just get it for free no prob), while the GW2 players have to struggle and farm and stuff. its messed up that gw1 players can get something we cant never get in a gw2 game.
2 years + and now you complain? Guess there’s not much else to complain about in GW2 nowadays huh? Lol…
" gw1 players would get it with no struggle (just get it for free no prob), while the GW2 players have to struggle and farm and stuff."
Actually, GW1 players did have to farm and stuff to obtain the HoM points to achieve said rewards. It’s a perfectly fair reward to the players of GW1. Someone please come kill this thread.
Except that GW1 players didn’t “get it with no struggle”. It required play to unlock.
^^; I was trying to be light hearted about it, and to simply point out A-net is NOT punishing GW2 players, they are simply rewarding and saying THANK YOU to those who played GW1 and have moved over too GW2, or those who have picked up GW1 and earned the HoM stuff.
" gw1 players would get it with no struggle (just get it for free no prob), while the GW2 players have to struggle and farm and stuff."
Based off what? Did the GW1 players not play and complete the HoM cheevos for these rewards?
The Hall of Monument items are a reward to all the people who supported Guild Wars 1 by buying and playing that game. They are also a form of compensation to these players.
When I started playing this game I had to abandon my old characters with their expensive and prized armor, minipets, heroes, mercenaries, inventories full of items, skill sets, titles, time played, etc, etc. I and the other players certainly never asked ANet to ditch Guild Wars 1 and start Guild Wars 2.
I’m not saying that I don’t enjoy this game, but the Guild Wars 1 players lost a lot when they transferred to here.
As to getting these items free and without struggle, Puhleez. It took me months of playing to get the Fire God’s Vambraces at 30 points.
You are on a misunderstanding here
While putting this stuff 1 year before the release, they basically said “Farm gw1 one more year for intensive achivement farm then you will have exclusive stuff.”
That was a guarentee for them to grap us on the new game. No more.
So people took long time to get those exclusive skin, not so goodlooking by the way.
And now you come saing that it’s a shame?
400 h of farm at least, is really a shame?
Well go play GW1, put 400 h of intensive farm on it, expect more than that (1000h form the start?), thats not a problem for me.
Really? How entitled can you get OP? Those items are mean’t to recognize those who where loyal to the GW series before GW2 came out. You can’t have everything, and you will never have everything. Get over yourself.
Don’t you guys understand? This is a MMO, where happiness is a zero sum. If you give someone something, you’re technically taking it away from everyone else. Make it easier for people to get and use skins? You’re taking my skins away from me. Someone gets a fossil in a buried chest? That fossil should have been mine!
Guild Wars 1 came out with titles, on the average less than every year. We were supposed to get an expansion called Utopia, but Anet canceled it to make Guild Wars 2. Utopia had already been announced. From the time it was annouced until the time Guild Wars 2 launched was more than five years without any major updates. Anet took away the expansion they promoted to make this game.
The compensation we got were a handful a skins we had to grind for, because there was nothing really else left for us to do. It was, at times, a painfully slow process.
When I came to Guild Wars 2, a lost a fortune in stuff, including elite armors, expensive minipets, some rare everlasting tonics, and a ton of other stuff.
Believe me the little bit we got in the Hall of Monuments doesn’t begin to compensate us for what we gave up to come here.
Quit your whining Adry. If you want these things then make the effort to go get them. Its all still there to get.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
why must we be a player of the original guild wars to have something in GW2?? its almost as if they want u to buy the kitten game….
Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner!
Remember, remember, 15th of November
why must we be a player of the original guild wars to have something in GW2?? its almost as if they want u to buy the kitten game….really? if u want give it at an easier advantage to the gw1 owners, but for it to be COMPLETELY unavailable for the gw2 players? that’s really messed up. soo basically we cant complete a collection or get “all” the customization options we want unless we buy another game? nty….
ArenaNet offered it to you, you have politely said ‘No, thank you’. Therefore, nothing to complain about, is there?
If you want them you can still get them, exactly the same way all the GW1 players got them.
It’s still possible to earn HoM rewards, even on newly created GW1 accounts and you can link them to pre-existing GW2 accounts.
Of course you will have to earn the points which takes a lot of time and effort, but it’s the same thing all those GW1 players did to get them ‘for free’.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Dude, you are as clueless as a carrot on the moon. For free? Are you insane? Do you have any ideea how much work went into that?!?! How much time spent?! Oh, and guess what – GW1 had no gem store and buying gold was illegal all around, so no using your parents’ credit card – you had to actually work your kitten off to get the cash needed for the HoM.
And now people complain about rewards rightfully earned by others, because they are too lazy to get them for themselves… If anything, the rewards were far too little for the amount of time spent and even more so due to the amount of items that remained in gw1 and had no impact on gw2.
