What do u guys think has the best looking armor, light, medium, or heavy? I started playing my light class level 50 sylvari elementalist again and the armors they have looks pretty awesome… let me see your bad s looking armors, and oh dont forget to show your back piece too.

Light-armour is pretty much the only class I like.

Was rather surprised since I actually tend to like medium-armour fairly well, but there’s just not much of it in the game right now that appeals to me. And I actually LIKE trenchcoats and stuff. Just all feels too bulky and stuffy. Need some more stuff that flows freely and fits loosely. Also skirts… Not skirt-like attachments to chest-armour, but actual skirts that go into the leggings slot.
Heavy-armour always sucks. There are a couple of sets here that aren’t too bad, but… yeah…

Light has alot of variety? Sweeeet…. can’t wait til i get my elementalist to 80. I light the cof and arah light armor, they look creepy awesome…good thing I’ve already saved up 3000 cof tokens.

There are several others, but I really like the ability to change the colors in this one. Anyway, I actually really like certain heavy armors, but a lot of them have a similar look. My favorites are the crafted Draconic set and the gem shop Primeval set.

For light, it’d be easier to list the ones I don’t like. :P And medium has some nice ones, but the ones I like best are either faction or cultural armor.

Heavy armor is not very well done, I am still running around in my heritage armor because that one is for me the best of the worst.
There is also one in the thriftshop but I am not sure if I want to use that.

I find all the armour in this game terrible.

Light, Medium, Heavy, in that order. Light Armor has some great designs that I really wish my Thief would wear and is the closest class to having something like Town Clothing you can wear in the field. Medium has some good looks, and some clothing type armor, but not enough of a selection, and I’m just not really into Heavy armor in general.

The Ranger’s Seeker Armor is actually quite nice and really does seem to fit that profession well.

For female characters, I’d say that light armor has the best variety and overall selection. Medium armor is more than a little lacking, but no so much as it is for male light armors. Heavy armor gives you a good variety.

For male characters, I’d say that the light armor selection is terrible, the medium armor variety is low but the medium armor quality is high, and the heavy armor is a mixed bag of the best sets in the game and some of the worst sets in the game.

As a male human, medium is the only way to go for me. Light looks too frilly / eccentric / downright crazy sometimes, and really goofy others. There are a few exceptions, of course, but IMO not many. Heavy is usually too bulky for my tastes. Medium armor actually looks like something I could see my character wearing.

I’m playing as a male sylvari and the light armor fit it well. It depends on if u have the right type of hair style and body type.

Medium is really lacking variety .. mostly just ugly trenchcoats. Light has a lot good looking stuff, and heavy at least a lot more than medium.

I’ve always preferred heavy armour, although a lot of the armours in this game don’t have that nice balance of looks and functionality I love so much from games like Dark Souls. Stuff like Human and Norn T3 as well as CM heavy are good examples of what I mean from this game though. Heavy plate too, to a lesser degree.
Many don’t even look like metal plate unfortunately, although that could be because of my reflections and shader settings..

I wish there were more pants without skirts options. Like just some regular old pants…

It’s much easier for me to say what I don’t like, which would be heavy armor. None of them appeal to me. I guess I would have to say that I like the Light Armor the best if I am pressed.

Gotta say as a Norn I prefer the heavy or medium armor. Light armored Norn’s….look silly to me.

for me light armor overall has multiple sets I enjoyed while my absolute favorite set is in the medium armor category, but I will favor light armor due to a MAJORITY of freaking medium armor being these fricking coats that DO NOT belong on a thief and due to being a female character the cultural is a little non-practical

There are some great looking sets in all 3 categories. Yes there are a lot of coats for medium armor but they are far from ugly and actually nicely designed.
Also don’t understand what people want from heavy armor, there is a lot of variety.

It’s really hard for me to chose a particular one. There are great ones in all 3 categories as there are some I don’t like. But, for me (and I’m probably biased since I wear that one) the best one is Sylvari Cultural Heavy Tier 3! Love that set <3

Heavy Armor looks the best and has the most diversity.
Hell, some heavy armor looks like it should be medium but it isn’t cuz heavy deserves everything.

I agree that heavy armor has the best diversity. My only complain would be the revealing pieces which could be a little better. The only one I find really cool is the barbaric set on a huge male character but if you want something in metal like actual armor (or are playing a female character) I find the revealing heavy gear lacking.

My only real complaint about light armor, is that once you get to 80, all the armor looks the same. Balthazar looks like Melandru looks like Grenth.

IMHO, once you get to the point that you can get the “42k” karma armor, you should have more of a choice. It’s a shame, but I am going to reskin as soon as I have decided what I want.

I do wish there were more “traditional” mage robes, tho.
