survey: wanna play minigames with friends?
They could make a resident carnival fair in the game where players can experience the past minigames and chalenges! Heck, they could also, give somesort of tokens upon Winning to redeem a skin from the past! So many things that could be done…
PS: I sure would love to do again the Clocktower JP :p
Yeah, we need the ability to create private minigame rooms for friends + guildies. It’s always fun to have private contests
I don’t think entire guilds should be able to queue with other people, but I think allowing two people partied together should be allowed. It would allow you and a friend to play, but make it harder to grief the arena.

but … with the game browser, people can just leave the current room and join another one right? other wise, it would just 2 options:
either you join a random public game. or you get enough friends or guild members to play in your own private room.
1. Yes! I want to play right now! (join a random room full of players)
2. Yes! I want to play with my friends! (create private instance, just like a dungeon!)
Yes please! I don’t even bother with minigames as they are since they can’t be played with friends. It’s strange that an MMO has holiday focused minigames that can only be played with random players, we’res the social element? O.o
Ive been annoyed about not being able to play with friends on these since the beginning.
it took over 30mins for me and my friend to be able to play Lunatic Inquisition together (which we wanted to do really badly).
with the same friend, we never managed to play the Bell Choir together, which was a huge dissapointment.
Now during Dragon Bash, i really wanted to be able to play Dragon Ball with a friend who just quite recently got Guild Wars 2, but we were never able to join the same game.
I do understand not letting full groups in to completely dominate the minigames, but cmon… these are not fun if you cant play with at least 1 friend.

i have no idea whatsoever why anyone would really want to play any of these minigames. playing 3-4 rounds dragon ball once a year is enough minigames for most.

well, it would be a nice break from the normal farming, dungeoning etc

Me too! Bring the Clocktower back!
Haha, imagine Clocktower as a fractal. Everyone has to make it to the top in the same run or failed. It would be the most evil thing in this game.
I would love that. These mini games would be way more fun with friends.
Yep, count me in.

aye we need more people supporting this.
together we will make guild wars 2 a better experience!
new event month very soon.
i am sure they are people who would want to do the mini games together with their friends.
let their voices be heard!
+1 I want to play the games with my friends. I was very disappointed I couldn’t do it at Halloween and at Christmas. Didn’t even bother with dragon bash (not to mention it didn’t count towards achievement until they fixed it) and didn’t bother with southsun coast head crab feast.

thanks for the feedback!
no one else wants to race sanctum sprint with friends?
they definitely need a LFG Tool for all of the activities in this game not just the dungeons. Other titles have it I can’t imagine why it was OK to leave such a major tool out of the game at launch.
When I say the LFG tool i mean the kind that’s programmed to be smart like in most games, you group with friends from the chat or gchat window and then if you have slots left the game autofills them with people waiting.

hmmm yeah, a LFG tool for all mini games please !!!
WHY ISN’T THIS IMPLEMENTED??!! Anet can save so much frustration just with a little more programming by implementing this.
we need more voices regarding this!
at the moment, many people just dun care. ):
+1 Yes please!
I don’t have a lot of time to play, and when I play I want to play with my friends. It’s SO disappointing to log on, excited to try the new content, the one morning a week we coordinate playing, only to find that the new content doesn’t allow us to join as a group. (*ahem Sanctum Sprint *ahem) 25 races, all on my lonesome.
I like the LFG idea for all activities – both dungeons and mini-games.
we may have some hope after all.

Thanks for this post. There have been many people who have requested something like this, and I don’t want you guys to think we are not listening. We have been, and currently are, exploring what would need to happen in order to make this a possibility (it is more complicated than you would think), and while I cannot guarantee that it will happen or when, we definitely understand the draw of playing activities with your friends are not dismissing this as something that will never happen.
+1
Keg Brawl is an absolute train wreck right now, with tons of farmers, and if they’re not farmers, they’re lobbers. It’d be nice to take the few people I do meet who actually want to play the game, go to a private match and bash each others faces in with a barrel of ale.
I agree, bumping +1
I’d love the option to play with friends. Perhaps achievements could be disabled in pre-made groups.
One issue: ANet doesn’t want us to have to wait for content until we can find enough people to play. Some of the minigames need a minimum number of participants. How do we deal with people getting upset they can’t play because one friend had to be out of game that evening?
I would love to play with friends and guildies although I don’t know if it would make them very unbalanced having people join in groups, either in terms of evenly numbered sides, or a coordinated group on voice chat vs. a handful of strangers. Setting up matches with similar sized groups could work, but could mean queuing for awhile.

Yes of I do. But not every minigame can be played with friends. For example southsun survival would be really bad if you could join in party. For other minigames I agree with you.
Always remember one thing – your opinion is your opinion not fact.
southsun survival would be ok if the whole game room only consist of guild members.
If I don´t see a minigame for the rest of the year, I think I actually would smile again.
;)
Yes, because we need “red resign” so people can grind achievements.
No No and No
Playing Southsun survival with a group of friends would be really fun, ditto with Sanctum Sprint and all the other mini games.
In the spirit of fairness it could be a separate ‘room’ (like a private PvP room) so that normal games are still balanced.
+1 for all minigames with friends
Yes, because we need “red resign” so people can grind achievements.
No No and No
it brings no harm, would not upset the economy in anyway.
why not?

Do you even play these things lol? And it was already pointed out, it’d be a private instance, obviously it would be in their best interest to not allow people to boost points. But it’s not like it kitteng matters because that’s all people do now anyway. The benefit to this would be so people who enjoy these games can actually kittening play.
at least people who wanna “boost points” can do it together without disturbing others!
i do NOT want mini games. I want to play ‘hairy’ content with friends where strategy is needed, not kick a red shiny ball across the room and talk to 4 npcs. That said, fishing and poker are the two mini games i would enjoy.

but do you want to play fishing and poker mini games with your friends?
Definately YES – I totally love the mini-games but hate it that I cannot do those with guild mates/friends/ally guilds. Need similar system to PvP rooms to organize them or similar instances as home instances are for guilds to host those. Something to do and develop with influence perhaps? like with guild missions.
YES!
But not if it’s too “organised” – I just want to be able to enter these games alongside a younger family member. The above guild influence idea would be useless to me.
so now they have activities in the daily rotation.
it is a good start.
hopefully, one day, we will truly be able to play together with our friends and or guild members!
I would enjoy all of the mini-games more if I could play with and against my friends and guild mates. (Yes, even Crab Toss!)
The only argument that would speak against this is the easier access to instances where you would be able to cheeses achievements. My repsonse:
- Mini-game achievements are being cheesed right now, in the existing mode.
- It has been brought up so many times with no response that I can only assume that ANet doesn’t give a Skritt either way.
- You could also, of course, make it so that in instances with pre-definced rosters, points don’t count towards the achievements.
Any more arguments against this?

20 days without new feedback, this cannot be!
since activities are now on a daily rotation, it certainly would not hurt to give us an option to play the activities together with friends, guild members etc!
it has been 3 months.
still waiting!
They answer this in one of their Q&A during a Live Stream some weeks/months ago. And I swear there’s other places they’ve answered it before too. The engine itself is restrictive and there are things they can’t get it to do. This is something that they cannot get to work without dedicating a lot of time and manpower behind it, and even then it’s not guaranteed. So, instead one must just deal with the simple fact that it’s not going to happen any time soon.
^ aaah thanks.
hopefully we will see it after a few years then.
back in guild wars 1, i asked for armor to have swap-able skins and stats back in nov 2006
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/smart-armor-system-v3-0-t10071643.html
in guild wars 2, in 2013, we finally got weapons that can swap stats.
I totally agree, would be great to join keg brawl with my team mates.

Completely agree. I thought this game was called GUILD Wars.

It is like fishing in other MMOs, some nice minigames are a good distraction once in a while. You don’t have to do it all the time, but once here and there for fun.
It would be great. I think it would really bring guilds closer together as well. Guild missions are good for that but everything else – dungeons etc – are only 6 people.
I’d also like to play chess in a minigame that you access in your friends list. the pieces could be characters from the game.
I’d buy into the carnival idea. Add a zone and put all this stuff into it.
Allow groups to compete against other groups in events like aspect arena w/o the random grouping. Also would like to see an informal costume brawl arena, just a place to go when people are looking for some intense combat etc. Oh heck, wish they would make a real pvp arena to do 1v1 and 2v2 in public, looking something like that arena in Oblivion heh, que up players, drop the gate and fight while players watch from the stands. Including bets!
No, not temporary content, thx.
