veteran player, making a new toon

being a member of this wonderful community for over 2 years now and making a new character, might be the funniest thing i’ve ever done.

“ah 8th toon, 2nd ranger. why is it telling me what WASD does? is this babys 1st computer game? w/e ok…”
“lol omg, a legit dodge tutorial. ok.”
“what the kitten is this white arrow over my healing skill? cant see whats shooting at me anymore…”
“no downstate until level 5. ok. gotta be hardcore then, no fun here…”
“what do you mean i can’t use my weapon properly till level 10…”
“funny. i remember there being juvenile pets all over this map… oh, anet moved them out of map. “too complicated”…soab…"
“hey a water section in queensdale. oh wait, don’t unlock all my UW skills till level 15. queensdale ends at level 15!”

and finally, (impersonating anet dev pitching this garbage) “user feedback said this game is too complicated, so we’re gonna flood they’re UI with flashing lights ’n arrows mid combat”

I will admit, the white arrow over the healing skill is annoying – and i think it popped up on my fully ascended gear zerker in a starting area after i fell off a cliff to save travel time -.-

Yeah, okay, it is telling me I need some healing soon. I probably am using healing whenever I am allowed to do so in battle anyway, but okay. What REALLY gets me is when the healing sigil is still recharging and it wants me to use it.

Adding flashing things that go off during a battle is pointless though and there have been studies on the topic. It is why they try to make jet fighter controls as simple as possible now rather than having 30 things at once screaming LOOK AT ME IMMEDIATELY!!!
