worst favour in the game
I did this heart on an alt the other day and know just what you mean lol. I got the flag near the heart NPC by jumping on the boxes (I think they were boxes) behind it then crept to the right and hid by the rock in front of the guy who jumps out of stealth in the corner. As soon as stealth guy disappeared, I crept behind his spot to get the flag there, then I think jumped onto the tent, walked across it and dropped down at the right time to get the next flag.
After that I kept being discovered so my advice probably isn’t all that great lol. But if you can get the first few, just wait and they’ll reset soon so you can go around to get them again.
Evadney (Mesmer)
I remember that annoyance. I did that entire stupid thing by repeating the first few flags, and waiting on them to reset, over and over again.
Oh my i remember that! Absolutely abysmal that was haha
Anet has improved since 1+ years later.
I hate this one and the rabbit food in Wayfarer Foothills.
This miserable thing was my last heart when I finished world completion for my legendary. Worst by far. I’d have sold the precursor if I’d encountered it earlier and thought there might be more like it.
Patience and careful observation is your friend on this one – watch the pathing of the NPCs before you begin and you’ll see the patterns. Use the tents or rocks as needed to get to the flags to reset your stealth, it will probably take a few tries.
Btw I knew right away which heart you were talking about and I did that one over a year ago!

Did this heart on 10 alts Your first steps a correct. Then just timing of run/dodge. I think I was able to get all flags during one stealth finally (maybe missed one, don’t remember). But first time it’s really frustrating, I agree with you here.
I hate this one and the rabbit food in Wayfarer Foothills.
Rabbit food is really easy if you are not alone. You get credits for scaring rabbits too (you can do this while NPC carries food too btw).
Did it on 5 alts. And yeah, there’s a certain pattern to the NPCs that makes it quite easy to get to the exits provided you start moving at the right time. Don’t forget you can also dodge roll to move a LOT faster and get out of tight spots.
Otherwise, the simplest way is to enter stealth, wait until the stealthed seeker to the right disappears, then run/dodge past him. There are two flags past there that can be accessed risk-free, and if you jump up over the tents, you can access a third. Wait a few minutes for it to reset, then do it again.
I am so glad im not alone on this!! haha thanks guys hopefully anet sees this
That’s probably the worst heart in the game :P
I loathe it. I did ONE time get to the end — and a Whispers charr poofed out of stealth and laughed and pointed.
never seen that one, but i have done the rabbit one with 10 characters now and i find it easy to solo (use a speed booster of some kind).
Well, it is somewhat refreshing that hearts in this game can be so diverse.
But yeah, easily the most tedious heart in this game if I recall. The rabbit one is more fun for me since the ridiculous knockdowns the rabbits do is always worth a chuckle.
Plus if you don’t want to deal with the rabbits, you can just kill the minotaurs N of the Heart for credit.
I just sat on the boxes to the left and waited for the first flag to respawn over and over again. If you get in the right spot they won’t catch you and you can just camp there the entire time.
I tend to get over to the tent opposite the heart giver, bunker down and make a brew. Every now and then, you should take a break from the computer; this heart allows you to do that. I think of it as "care in the community".
As for the other heart mentioned: "Bunny! Bunny! Bunny!"
Pick up the food, press one for a little speed boost, dodge roll, press one again. Also if you have a swiftness skill, use it. Scare rabbits, and then murder minotaurs. Don’t recall if finding fur patches help or not, but I imagine they do, so that as well.
I HATED that Heart sooooo much. I tried watching the movement of the NPCs in order to get the pattern, but I ended up just doing the first few flags and then waiting for them to respawn. Long and tedious.
I have done this quest when i am working on my world completion.
Agree it is hard but be patient and never give up, could be done after a few tries.
The rabbit quest is easy too, you can dodge so just use dodge to move faster.
Am I the only one that enjoyed actually doing pretty well at it and laughing at everyone who didn’t? I guess I am.
No I actually found it fun too, one of my fave hearts
I can’t disagree with you.
On one occasion I actually managed to get through, or at least it seemed that way as I still got caught right at the end.
I hate hate this heart- obviously I suck as a spy- it is just so freaking frustrating.
Last time I had my husband do it for me- while I went outside and shouted a bit. Urrrgghhhh
Bunny heart- I have a pattern down by now- it is a breeze really- hated it in the beginning
I really like this one, I made with 4 toons, it is only hard the 1st time, after you get exactly what you need to do then it gets much more enjoyable.
The worst heart imo, is the one where you need to get insects in a jar then feed the bulls under a timer, it is tedious and if you pick the smallest timer it turns to be incredible hard.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

That one is an easy one, there are more ways to skin a cow.
You can /bow to one, sit with one and a couple of other ways, you don’t even need insects.

O.O I didn’t know that … awesome, thousands of hours and still learning haha
Knowing that, there isn’t any hard/tedious heart quest I can remember, the bunny one in wayfarer can get a bit annoying if many players are there, but that rarely happens nowadays.

Or just hammer the F key while you autowalk to where you need to go. Bunnies run the moment they come close.
I’ve done that heart 8 times now and I must say that and the troll trading one are the 2 most annoying in the whole game lol. The best way I found doing this one in the end is to just camp the first pole thing and just sit there and wait for it to be able to be tagged again. Sure it takes about 10-15 mins to complete and is boring as heck but it beats moving to the other pole things and getting caught all the time and then restarting. I advise watching tv or something while siting there and waiting, in fact reading the forums worked for me. :P
chuckle
I know exactly what you’re talking about OP. I’ve done this heart…I think twice now. I kept getting discovered at first and it drove me crazy. It took some doing, but after watching how the seekers move, and poking around the area to see what nooks and crannies I could hide in, where I could climb over, etc, I did manage to make it all the way to the end of the ‘cavern.’ I wasn’t seen until I was almost to the very last flag, but I got every flag in between.
It takes some doing, but it can be done. On the flip side, its relative easy to get the flag right by the npc, and then the one across from that. They respawn every couple of minutes, so you could just go back and forth between those 2 to do the heart.
The rabbit one I found easy. They’re slow and you can evade them.
The stealth one is awful! It’s so slow and frustrating. I did it by repeatedly getting the first couple flags over & over.

The stealth heart is far and away my favorite, followed by the rabbit. The one I can’t stand is the FedEx Jotun trading one in Wayfarer. The first two have interesting mechanics, the Jotun one has no mechanics at all.

Oh yea! Hated that one too lol.
I’m finishing up world 100% on my main and did the stealth, rabbit, and jotun hearts all on the same day. I’d done them all separately on various other characters, but of course, never with my main.
I don’t feel bad about bashing these few hearts. On the whole, the hearts are generally quite fun and I like the broad range of ways to accomplish them. Of the hundreds of hearts in Tyria, these 3 hearts are “bad” because of annoying mechanics and narrow accomplishment possibilities.

I actually like that one- the first time I did it I was getting rabbits and rocks and stuff and trading it for stones etc but I kept getting more rabbits and could never trade enough stones.
on the next characters I realized- catch one rabbit and trade it to one Jotun for stones- go to the next one buy what he has and trade that to another one for more stones- you get much more stones by trading the stuff they already have among them- I later realized that is even what the heart guy says to you.
I think the main reason the charr Whispers heart is so frustrating is that nightmare feeling of being stuck in slow motion while the monsters move freely. It takes away our control of our character. The concept is neat, the execution flawed. If it all got sped up to regular movement (with concomitant changes to NPC speed and patterns), likely it would be much more exciting to most everyone.

Outside the fence you can throw water on a couple cows and do emotes to a few others. This makes the heart really easy.
Pah.
The most disgusting one is in Brisban.
You have to do…. math. /cringe

The charr stealth heart annoyed the hell out of me when I did it on my first two characters. I could get to the third flag but anything after that was too difficult……until I figured out a little trick on my third character that allowed me to reach the last flag every time without being spotted by the charr. Reach the last flag three times and it completes the heart……but who says you have to go through the charr camp?

…. Why didn’t I figure that out sooner?
The stealth heart is not Order of Whispers, it’s Ash Legion.
And the Jotun heart does have a mechanic — it just doesn’t slap you in the face like the stealthed Charr do in the stealth heart.
Oh THAT task, I had to read through half the posts before I remembered which one you were talking about. I loved that one, it was fun and unique, took me two or three tries, there are waaaaay worse heart tasks out there. Like the one where you are supposed to kill centaurs and there two measly centaurs that spawn within range of the heart, requiring you to wait for them to respawn over and over again!

Yol. You just made me eager to get to that heart on my current alt. OMG.
I just sat on the boxes to the left and waited for the first flag to respawn over and over again. If you get in the right spot they won’t catch you and you can just camp there the entire time.
Shh! Anet will change it on us!
I think you need to git gud
It never fails on the interweb, mention you dislike something and someone has to come in and say it’s the easiest thing in the world :P Or their favorite.
Oh god, the jotun trading game heart is horrible too, thanks for bringing it up >.>
