Blizzard couldn’t pull off holiday events of this magnitude.

I have to ask. Why are they removing the Ascent to Madness dungeon anyhow? Why not keep it till the event is fully finished?

I personally enjoyed reading the forums at the start of each act to see what the new complaint. I did not have any complaints and preferred this Halloween to that of 250yrs ago. I’m glad the party is all day, means I don’t have to time myself for every 4 hrs :S

Please make it last 2 days. Some of us are very very busy tomorrow and will miss the event probably.

I don’t mind a month long event seriously.

In this Halloween there were at times I felt rushed, wanting to complete everything before the next act because you never know what comes up next.

A month long event would allow us to enjoy it more at our own pace

It clearly states in the OP that you have a five minute window to attend the party after phase 4 starts.

Also make sure that you will “Attend the Party” in Lion’s Arch once Phase 4 starts, and do not worry: It is a non-stop party, so swing by any time you want!

It runs until the next new build, sometime on November 1st, so hopefully everyone will have a chance to attend, at some point during the day

as if this hasn’t been pointed out enough yet or clear enough, lol, Phase 4 will only run until Nov 1st? as will all the other halloween events? i was somehow under the impression that halloween stuff would run until nov 2. i haven’t completed the clock towerrrrrrr (i know i know it’s not required for in-game achievements.. but personally it does! haha).

and can we assume that phase 4 will be just the party, and all we need to do is log on and be there? : )))

16 years of MMO’s and this is the most detailed and fun holiday event I’ve ever seen. Amazing job!

the mad king is allowed to leave his realm and enter the world of mortals one day a year, and that’s halloween. my guess is act 4, a.k.a. “the party”, is going to be that day.

I’m excited and I can’t wait. I wish I had more time but seriously, that’s a GOOD thing because I can’t get enough of this event. In all my years of gaming GW2 is the only MMO that has been able to hold a candle to the CoH/V events and it’s even managed to be even more extravagant and.. FUN! I was so impressed I dumped a bunch of money on gems as a big fat “thank you”. The amount of work that went into this is obvious and I thouroughly enjoyed every spare minute I was able to play.

Because it doesn’t make sense to celebrate the defeat of the mad king and his prevention from returning to Tyria if the portal is still open and you are fighting him.

You know what? I was debating dropping 10-20 bucks on gems and buying the Mad King costume (as well as some other things), and couldn’t decide whether to do it or not. But you’ve made up my mind.

I feel the exact same way. They did a great job on the event, and really showed what we can expect in the future. If this was a meal, I would certainly not feel bad giving my waiter a 10$ tip, especially after he told me that my meal that took me a few days to eat was on the house.

They already made their money off my purchase of the game, but are continuing to give me exciting new content, and fun games like Lunatic Inquisition and the Clocktower. Which, I might add, is also very visually pleasing. You don’t really get to stop and look at it so much, but it’s a really cool design, jumping on the sides of a shattering tower.

If this party tomorrow is even half as good as the events were in GW1, I’ll be pleased. I have a feeling it will be better though. See you all there. I’ll be dressed up in my Mad King garbs.

Thanks for a great holloween event Anet, glad act4 is running until noon the next day as the 31st is going to be a busy day for me, and I suspect a lot of other players as well, so the extra time is appreciated.

Here’s hoping we dont get the same problems we always had with the GW1 halloween event, the darn thing throwing most of us out 10 mins before the appearance and not letting us back on for hrs.

I enjoyed the event very much, and already looking forward to the next one!

I feel successful and super proud of the fact that tomorrow, I’ll have my Emissary of the Mad King achievement. I worked hard for it, and some say the Clocktower was miserable, but I had a LOT of laughs in chat, and even made a few friends through our struggle, and when I finally made it I screamed and jumped and yelled and celebrated. Something a game hasn’t had me do in a long long time.

So, confirmed 9:00 PDT… 12am for me on 1st Nov… c r a p!!!
but stay awake for this to get achievement!!!

overall, event is satisfied for me (got one mad king armor! soulbound it ^__^ ) but only if the mad king tower jumping puzzle can be set for solo instance rather than with other players…

also, the free devil horn can’t seem to be obtainable for me… bought with 0 gems, not found anywhere… but i got the Anet cap at the beginning of the game launched… so what’s wrong?

also, i find that costumes purchased from gem stores is only for the current logged in character is really not friendly to players unlike Guild Wars 1 which is an account wide costumes…. sigh

There is plenty about the game that I feel is not quite where it needs to be, plenty of bugs and problems (like bots), and yet…I trust that you will not only resolve these issues, you’ll surpass expectations.

This Halloween event has shown me what the collective minds over there at ArenaNet are capable of, and it gives me hope that future content patches and expansions will be just as impactful. Between my wife and I, we purchased $140 worth of gems during the event to help fund the future (and … get some goodies!).

Excellent work, and looking forward to seeing the final phase (though I shall shed a tear for the loss of my favorite mini dungeon).

wow, just wow. Can’t believe you guys managed to pull off such a fun event, and for the first event in this entire game, I am in shock to think of what more is to come.

I just wanted to say thank you for making this Halloween event possible, I had a lot of fun, from jumping puzzle to costumes and pumpkin carving. The creativity and effort that went behind it is much appreciated. You guys even changed up some small little details, which I found pretty cool. I look forward to future events like this one, keep up the good work anet <3

I just wanted to say that this event has got to be the best holiday event I have ever seen in a MMO. It even blows P2P Content Updates out of the water.

I got to say as someone who played Guild War 1 that I very much enjoyed the Halloween events for that game, yet I was very content and happy with it. GW2’s Halloween Act 1 added more content then GW1 ever did and I was pleasantly surprised! You could have just released that act as your Halloween event, but you went further and added the content for Acts 2 and 3 with 4 upcoming. You have seriously set the bar high. Well done!

ANet has profoundly shaken my perception of game companies and how much importance they give to their players. A 2 month (and a bit) old game that has radically changed its face for a few days event! And what a change… You guys amaze me! GW2 is not perfect, but its nevertheless an amazing sight and inspirational work!

What? You saying those of us who choose to stay in and do this don’t have lives? What do you expect… It is with every holiday event in any game.. The grand finale is on the day of and then it ends. You can either stay home and participate or go out. I have to be at a crappy job today for 9 freakin hours so I will miss over half of it.
