After reading so many arguments across so many different threads, I just need to get list two point.

1) Stop saying that druids/dedicated healers will be forced into nomad gear.

Nomad is unlikely to be the prefered gear for pure healing. Healing power is only a secondary stat on it. It’s much more likely to be cleric for power with max healing, apothecary’s for conditions with max healing, magi’s for pure guardian healing (Due to it being the only vitality secondary healing power primary stat combination), zealot/cleric or zealot/berserker for maximum damage while maintaining high healing. If anyone’s forced into nomad’s it’s going to be some kind of tank, because if a non-tank healer needs the extra durability while by default benefiting from almost all their healing, everyone else is probably already dead.

2) Stop saying that the trinity will automatically end the stacking meta.

Stacking is a separate problem entirely. Stacking isn’t a result of berserker stats. It’s a result of limited beneficial AoE (i.e. buffs, healing) and control (Blinding fields) encouraging everyone onto a single spot in order to benefit from them. If anything, increasing he impact of beneficial AoE will make it worse. Whether or not it ends is down to the implementation of mechanics that incentivize it on the enemy/environmental side, not the player side.

I agree with both of these. I’d also add one to the list

Stop saying a push toward supportive roles is a push for less engaging combat.

I see a lot of people saying that adding an incentive to run a healer/tanky/not zerker build will ruin the combat. It’s just a silly argument to me.

For those roles, the"*engaging combat"will move from active mitigation and the understanding of encounter mechanics as they relate to you as an individual, to active mitigation, positioning, and resource managment / prioritizing as they relate to your team.

We don’t know what raids will bring us. But if they are done right, playing a healer will benefit your team greatly. But still be as engaging and challenging as any other role you could bring into the encounter.

If I drop a heal at the wrong time, if I’m not positioned correctly, If I miss a Condi cleanse, a reflect, whatever and my team wipes, then these instances were designed perfectly and that’s what I’m hoping for.

Sure, push for more supportive roles into the Meta, as long as it’s done right it will still be a challenge. It will still be fun.

The only thing I’m really concerned with is being able to keep myself alive. I’ve always liked only having to relay on myself to get though a fight, I really don’t want that to change.

I do understand if it will be different in raids, but it doesn’t mean I have to like it. Next weekend will be very telling.

Hopefully, people will be “test-minded” enough to form PUG raids and try them out from that perspective.

Also, the best part of this is going to be the gap of time between this weekend and when the raid opens in Live, not to mention the feedback changes.

Raids in GW2… what a trip.

Add:

Stop saying “they go heal/dd/tank trinity cause they created a healer class (druid)”

heal is and was always a supportiv aspect of the game. sure sharing boons is in the current meta more common, but healing is part of support. Now, in raids, player, who want to support thier team, can go for heals too. dont mean they deal 0 dmg and die with 1 hit. that would be the classic healer of any other mmo.
+ duid is not the only healing class. yes it is the only new spec, but dont forget heal ele and heal guard. both have a huge healingskills. so u wont see lfg’s with duid only. (and if u need a pug group for raids, u are hopefully doomed anyway :P “u will get ur head smashed in”)
