Sanctum Scramble at least has the benefit of having a fairly generous time limit. I managed to achieve Gold on it playing from Australia with a minimum 200+ms ping, although only after an hour of some very fierce swearing. I had to adjust my strategy because some of the pinpoint methods used by Gold runners are simply impossible to do with that kind of ping (your glider opens a split second too late and you will ALWAYS crash into the wall or juuust miss the platform). The only thing that saved me was the fact that Sanctum Scramble has probably a good 15 – 30 second leeway for achieving Gold.

This is not the case when it comes to other difficult adventures like Floor is Lava, Fallen Masks or Shooting Gallery, which is why I still firmly believe that ANet needs to give the adventures a good balance pass. ALL players should be able to get Bronze even on their first go unless they literally don’t do anything. Silver should be achievable by anyone provided they know what the adventure’s mechanics are and where to go. Gold should be achievable if you’ve run the adventure numerous times, know where to go, know the tricks OR have Masteries that can help you. (I always point to Wings of Gold and Flying Circus as two examples of adventures that were excellently designed.)

If people still want to claim bragging rights over Gold, there’s always the leaderboard.

Welcome to play the game “your” way LMAO

That only ever applied to required vertical progression, leveling specifically. You’ve never been able to play however you wanted to acquire the extras.

There’s nothing you can do against latency, but adventures are a simple skill check. If the average player can’t handle silver, they’ll nerf it. For everyone else, find someone you trust and get carried.

That’s a heck of a business model.

Not sure if sarcastic or not … this is an MMO. It’s not all that unreasonable to ask someone better or more knowledgeable than you to help you out.

I’m not sure if you’ve ever read the EULA, but I think you should. Adventures are individual achievements, NO ONE can do them for you or help you with them, unless they log into your account. Which is prohibited under section 9b of the EULA. And could get you banned.

Interesting, considering they have no way of knowing if I’m playing my account, or if my sister is playing it, or my niece, or a friend, etc.

I’ve never met anyone in person that plays GW2 (other than my wife, who I bought a copy for.) They can’t tell if someone in your house is playing on your copy, but they can tell if your friend in another location who also plays GW2 is playing on your log-in. I suspect doing that will raise some flags, and we’ve seen instances where both accounts get banned.

Well, yeah, that’s a different case. It’s none of their business what goes on in my own home.

They should get rid of bronze , silver , gold altogether.

For those that care about adventures (lol) there is leader boards for everyone else merely complete the adventure once at your own pace gaining the mastery point and the collection item and enjoy never having to do this kitten again.

My point is fairness. Glint’s Bastion (achievement) is the hardest among all other elite specializtion. Horologicus (achievement) is also about getting a shield, and I want to know why mesmers can get it much easier than me using a revenant. Oh, and there is the Drone Race: Silver for the Fix-r-Upper (achievement)…is it a joke?! way to easy compared with the Sanctum Scramble.

lets make all of them the same level of difficulity

They are probably just trusting that you were not lying when you promised to abide by their terms. Not much else they can do really.

You’d be surprised. Logging in from a different IP address is a dead give-away, but so is e.g. talking about helping a friend this way in chat. And if they really want to put in some work (not likely in GW2 I admit) they can analyze things like keystrokes and movement patterns. They do in some other games, it’s a part of the bot detection algorithms used.
