I have a friend, who has done só much for me, but she is really poor. She also lives on the other side of the world. I want to give her HoT as a present, because she can’t afford it.
But, I want to do it in a way that she won’t notice. I just want her to log into the game, and notice something is off. And then she notices she has HoT!!
Is there some way to upgrade her account without her knowledge? She really wants the game, but I wanna surprise her, and not just dump her with a code, or give her the money…

Depending on which country she lives in, if you know her address you could purchase a physical case to be delivered to her. Of course, physical copies are limited to only a handful of retailers, so there might not be any available in the country she lives in.

I don’t know any other method that won’t be simply giving a serial code or the money to purchase. Otherwise – I hope you manage to find some way of doing this.

Considering she would have to register the expansion to her account and download it before being able to play it, I think it would be a bit hard for her to not notice.

Yea, this would be nice to see. I really love how you can gift gemstore items and would like to see this mechanic added to more purchasable stuff from ANet.
