I have GW2 for a year now and I bought the HoT the standard one. I hope they have an option to upgrade it to Deluxe or Ultimate through money (creditcard/paypal) and not through gems. Cause I want to upgrade to Ultimate but they said they cant do it.

I hope ArenaNet thinks about the people who doesnt have a $100 right away.

There is nothing stopping you from saving up $100 over time. Instead of buying the standard edition, save that $50 until you have enough to save a further $50 and buy the Ultimate.

I reckon the expansion won’t be coming for at least another 2 months.

As a side note, you technically can upgrade to the Deluxe with money; by purchasing gems with real money and using those to upgrade through the gem store.

And if your buying gems anyway you should save up and buy the ultimate so ask for a refund on your standard mate

Then maybe you should wait so you can buy ultimate when you can afford it or be happy with your basic hot upgrade ( since you wont get hot ultimate afterwards and its basicly just a 50% off the 4.000 gems you get with it, making it the better value for raw cash) ofcourse you can still farm gold and upgrade to deluxe for ingame gold getting the fluff items later… I would however wait with it, untill they boost the deluxe to drag in even more players about a year after hot release.
