I wanna know when I have to be home.

Whatever the Pacific clock says, UTC will be 7 hours later. Hence the “UTC-7” part. So it will be 7:01 am UTC. You’ll have to convert from there to whatever your local time zone it if that differs from UTC.

Depending where you are in the EU, it will be early morning. In the UK it will be 07:01am.

Won’t it be 08:01am because we’ll still be in BST until the 25th?

Either way it’s going to be around that time in most of Europe, give or take an hour or two depending on which part you live in.

Well, I just googled UTC and got a current UTC time that is 4 hours later than me, Eastern, which is 3 hours later than Pacific, so I figured the 7 hours was legit. Google results could have been mistaken, however.

Note that if you are using Win7 you can set your bottom right calendar to show two clocks, your local time being one and — in this case — Pacific time being the other. I’ve named my second clock “ArenaNet” and can just toggle that display to see ANet local time whenever I wish.

I’m not confident in my figuring out of timezones but from what I could tell it seems like 8pm on friday is when it will be live for us kiwis. Anyone care to check that for me please?

Actually, it is PD(aylight Saving)T going back to PS(tandard)T. November 1st, I believe. We turn out clocks back, and gain an hour. =)

In the UK it’ll be the weekend HoT launches – it’s always the last Sunday in October, which this year is the 25th.

If you’re in Western or Central Europe, except GB and Portugal, it’s on Friday at 9.01 AM

You say you’re in Norway, then it’s the same as Western/Central Europe.

lol i was stressing about what the kitten utc is and what it has to do with gmt which i do know and if i had figured it out properly that i totally skipped over the bit where they gave a time in pdt.

like 17:00 or later? or will it be live midnight on the day?

HoT launches at 12:01AM PDT October 23rd.

If you need a time converter, I’m sure Google will provide a few with a quick search for your time zone.

It will be in the morning Friday. For us in Finland at 10.01 a.m. for anyone west of us earlier.

On Oct 23, HOT is going to go live, but … When? Will it be midnight as the day rolls over ? Will it be during normal daily reset time ? Is there a weird time picked out ?

Also when it does, will we have to relog? Will we have to DL a patch ? Will a switch simply be flipped at X time and now we can enter the jungle without an error message ?

Any information would be great.

I guarantee we’ll have to download some things. As far as I’m aware, no part of the 3 HoT maps after Verdant Brink are in the .dat apart from a few chak models.

According to the following link, HoT will be released on Oct 23, 2015 (Thursday).

That would seem to be pretty straight forward with the assumption that perhaps at reset on Thursday the game will switch over to HoT/Halloween mode.

However, my question has to do with Greenwich mean time. Unless I am mistaken, daily resets (which are currently occurring at 7 pm Central time (my time zone) are actually based on midnight of Greenwich mean time. That means that when Oct 23 rolls around in England at the stroke of midnight, it’s about 7 pm on Oct 22nd where I live (depending on daylight savings time).

So, my question is whether the Oct 23rd date is the American date meaning our Thursday at about 7pm Central or is it Greenwich mean time meaning it’s really going to be Oct 22nd, at 7pm Central for those of us in the United States..

They’ve stated that the release time for HoT is 12:01 AM Pacific Time Friday (10/23) morning.
