Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
I have no idea what you’re talking about, OP. Take a deep breath, step away from the computer for an hour, and come back when you’re ready to talk in such a manner to communicate thoughts and ideas.
yeah i agree. the maps are a failure. zero fun to be had here. hot is frustration piled on top of boredom gated behind a mushroom mastery.
While I don’t agree with your worst expansion ever comment, I do agree with you about not liking the vertical nature of the maps. There is a lot to like about this expansion but the verticality is not one of them for me. Part of this expansion feels to Nintendo for me. I hope in future expansions that platforming is kept as a sideshow attraction as it was in the core game.
I completely disagree with your…um…I don’t know what the OP posted, a rant perhaps, since it certainly isn’t constructive criticism. I actually hope they add in more maps in the future with this verticality in it, however, what I’d really like to see is all 3 biomes in the same map(that is what I was hoping for with the HoT maps honestly). It would have then made more sense to need to learn the Gliding, Mushroom and Nuhock tunnel travelling Masteries as they would then have been needed to get from top to bottom on all the maps and you would have been able to put different events/creatures/hidden places at different levels of the map that you could only reach after learning the Mastery and giving players a reason to return to the maps in the future(IMO).
I think that they’re complaining about some vistas being part of a JP. I can’t remember any that were and there certainly were some in the core game so I don’t know what the issue is.

They are complaining about the verticality, the jp nature and that they feel the new map design is beauty over substance. The vista comment is comparative rather than literal.
Regardless, the op is unconstructive and I find little to agree with or support.
I understand how the orignial poster feels. I have played Guild Wars since the early days of beta for guild wars propheses. I have loved the whole series not just for the graphics and ease of play, but for the attention it pays to the casual player as well as the hard core. When GW2 came out and the vistas and jumping puzzles were introduced, I was a bit taken back. I have a physical issue that interfers with the movment of my hands. Sometimes I am fine other times not so fine. Since vistas and jumping puzzles werent a game breaker, I was ok skipping the majority of them. But with HoT, you HAVE to do jumping puzzle and vistas to progress your character. The time involved is discouraging for the causal player and the puzzles and vistas are a nightmare. HoT is way to heavy on puzzles, vistas and grind. For this…I regret buying the expansion. At this point, i dont know if i will bother with the mastery system since points are dependant on the vistas.
Courteous, intelligent debate from players help devs make a good game, legendary
i understand the feel of OP. Drytop is the map that i rarely set foot in. Dragon festival i barely touched. I don’t enjoy the map areas areas are gated behind reachable location that require you to eat the energy orb and change your weapon skill to some temp movement skill to move around.
But HoT is different. They embedded the similar system into mastery and let you have the ability by trainning them up “account wide”. I hate the map at first during beta as i cannot move around easily. But then i fall in love with the new map, feel more real and big. As i am no longer look at the map by how far i can see. Instead i am looking at the map with how deep i can drop and how high i can climb.
When I first started the expansion I would have agreed with the OP, but I got the glider and mushroom mastery quit quickly and now I’m injoying it more I was really afraid that I couldn’t do it but it’s really easy getting around a lot easer then Dry Top or Silver Waists I could never get the hang of those skills to get up the side of cliffs and stuff.
put the correct term in but not everyone has kittens
