Dragon Bash told us wich dragon is next :p
Im pretty sure primordus will be last due to him supposedly being the strongest? Im torn between it being Jormag or Kralk next though. I have a feeling Jormag is more likely as they have it setup with the tooth in Hoelbrak and all the lore surrounding him. But then sometimes it seems like they are hinting in the way of Kralk next and I really want to go to the crystal desert and see Palawa Joko.

I think you are spot on. It could be either. It all depends on if developers are more interested in taking us North (old EOTN territories) or South (original Prophecies territories). Because both dragons are said to be in those respective areas.
If I had to pick one, I would think that Jormag would be first. Going Crystal Desert first gets us closer to Elona and you do that and you will have a storm of people clamoring to get back there. Even more than we have now.
IMO, if we get another dragon before an expansion I see it being Jormag. This reason for this is if we go after Krak there is a lot more at play there with Palawa Joko. Plus is opens up Elona for us.
Now if we don’t get a dragon before an exapansion, I think we will get Jormag and Krak at the same time. That would allow enough of the map to open for an expansion and I think two dragons at once will work at better. The game opened with one dragon for the simple reason of setting everything up and now isn’t limited by that. With everything it place it can really start focusing on the offensive to take the other dragons down and what are part will be in this story.

The Pact is going to be pretty hard-pressed to fight a two-front war though. I’d figure they’re going to have to go after one at a time whether they want to or not.

That I agree with, I was just meaning that we would have two dragons in the expansion. That would give us a lot of content and a whole lot more of the map open.

I think you are right Hjorje. I really feel like the Crystal Desert will be an expansion. We are going to have to deal with Palawa there as well. I think that is big content and will be an expansion.
I think Jormag could be an expansion as well. They could open up all the EOTN lands we can no longer get to with him.
I think other smaller map content will be map areas we currently have closed off around us. Like some of the areas north and west of Maguuma, south of Metrica Province, possibly more Arah, and some of the area east of Dredgehaunt down to Mount Maelstrom. Just my guess if they open up more map areas that are not in an expansion.
There are 2 kinds of candy wich are named after a dragon one is named after Zaithan (SPOILER HE IS DEAD)
and the other one is named after Kralketorikk,This super amount of proof must mean it’s Kralkie who is next!
If that’s your argument – which is incredibly poor – there’s also candy named after Jormag (Jorbreakers, I think it was called – a pun of jaw breakers; just like Zhaitaffy is a pun of taffy candy, and Kralkachocolate is, well, obvious). The dragon bull’s eye boards are also of those three champions – The Shatterer, the Claw of Jormag, and Tequatl.
And face it – Kralkatorrik, Zhaitan, and Jormag are the most up front Elder Dragons. Of course they’d be the one which gets everything named after them.
This hardly proves anything.
If you just wanted to make a thread about what people think will be the next Elder Dragon, a thread exists related to Dragon Bash.
and what if we destroy the ED, isn’t the world going to be imbalanced?
There’s nothing to really support this claim. There’s a hypothesis that magic continuously is created in the world and the Elder Dragons “balance” it by being a reset button for it (with the side-effect of wiping out almost all life), but it’s just a hypothesis and no indication of what happens if that reset button isn’t pressed.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

And my question is. Why would we need those gigantic magic toilets when we have the mystic forge?
Because Djinn do not consume magic? They, like other races, don’t reduce the amount there is but only changes its shape?
That’s my theory.
Only Imps and Elder Dragons have shown to consume magic. And Imps are demons from the Mists, it seems.

That djinn must have a sizable cache of magic then.
Only because he’s trading at a 4 to 1 ratio. So for every transaction, he has 3 items more for whatever purposes he has.
Though in full seriousness, I doubt the Mystic Forge’s “reserves” could be considered lore full out.

I know you weren’t serious about the candy, but if it’s for the candy, I would say the Jorbreaker is a bigger pun to future dragons as not only it’s a pun of Jormag + Jawbreaker, but there is an entire Norn legend about a hero breaking Jormag’s giant fang in Hoelbrak and leading the charge against the dragon. Who knows, maybe a hammer made of Jorbreakers would do the trick and break it…
Anyway as Konig said it’s normal that those 3 get the spotlight because they’re the ones we fight the most around the world. DSD doesn’t even have a known name, Mordremoth apparently is only known to the Inquet (and maybe they don’t know much about him, just about his energies) and “possibly” the nightmare court (and maybe Caithe?) and while Primordius and the Destroyers had the spotlight in EotN and are the reason for the Asura leaving the depths of Tyria, their area of operation hasn’t yet reached the most populated areas of Tyria (the Tengu seem to have problems with them in their domains though) and are limited to specific eruptions. Aditionally we only got champions for the other 3 (here is hoping that at some point the “Megadestroyer” metaevent is replaced by a dragon champion emerging from the lava pool).

Haha, of course. I was just fooling around.
I think the next one will be Jormag.
If they go with Kralk then they have to take the desert into account. I still thinking they’re erming and aring about the whole Elona/Cantha inclusion thing so maybe a little more time is needed there.
There also seems to be a lot more known about Jormag, including the races whose lives he’s ruined. Kralks impact, so far, just seems more about damage he’s caused.
We also have EotN unlocked for those that have linked accounts and it’s kinda just sitting there with it’s thumb up it’s bum. Adding Jormag will clear that area nicely.
I think each dragon will come with a paid for expansion. After all, Anet want to make their money and the dragons are the crux of GW2. I can see a paid for expansion adding a new dragon with story line, new areas uncovered and new playable races/professions .
Kralk will come after that I think as he’s the other one we know about. Then Mod and Bubbles (not in that order maybe) and, finally, Prime. Simply cos he’s been bigged up as the kitten for a while (Dwarves become a playable race at this point???).
Just my thoughts really
I seriously hope that not each paid expansion is another elder dragon. They don’t really make, story-telling-wise, a very interesting enemy. I think it shows clearly in the Personal Story that even anet is struggling with it :P
For the next dragon I would expect first a primordius champion, since that’s the only active ED that doesn’t have its own champion in GW2.
For the next expansion, Kraka would make a nice choice to tie an Crystal-desert expansion to, and at the same time allow those that did not buy the expansion to also join in on some fronts. Something that wouldn’t be possible for a Cantha expansion. Also, Destiny’s edge had some ideas to defeat Kraka, I guess they should be able to make something up from that.
If dragon bash is going to tell us what the next dragon is, I don’t think it will come in the form of candy ;-)
I think that the Elder Dragons can be turned into an interesting plot device to focus on if done right, the issue is that ArenaNet doesn’t give any of their main villains a lot of screen time, and didn’t really touch on the backgrounds of the Elder Dragons in the story thus far.

You forgot the candy JORbreaker, hahaha get it? Jormag? No? Well you trade 1k Zhaitaffy for em…
I think that Kralk will be dealt with in Elona Expansion, I have a strong feeling that we will be using the help of my favorite Lich to kill that one!!

White mantle had a lot of screen time, so did Shiro and Abbadon, the Vizier had -some- but not as much as the other two.
Oh yeah, the dervish chick that worshiped Abadon had a ton of screen time until we entered realm of torment, she was in every mission (her talking at least) and a large sun of quests spoke about what her and her forces were doing.

Amen. I miss all the many cut scenes we had in GW1. They really made the lore and story come alive. This constant face to face jabbering with murky watercolor movement in the background gets old quick. There are too few cut scenes in the game. I enjoy the ones in the dungeons, but that is where the bulk of them reside. I think the personal story would have benefited from both a lore and enjoyment standpoint had there been more actual cut scenes.

Uh, yeah, I was talking about in GW2. GW1 did their villains fairly well, especially better than GW2.
I get the idea that Zhaitan was meant to be a “hidden face of evil” kind of thing, but they really didn’t give any one enemy enough screen time. Caudecus got the most, and only if you’re a human noble who regretted not joining the circus! Wait, scratch that. Kudu got the most – 2 dungeons, and 1 storyline. But hell, Canach has gotten more screen time than most villains in GW2, and he’s not even a true villain. Faolain and Caudecus and the mysterious personal nemesis have a chance of getting good screen time, but honestly if they wanted to make Zhaitan and the Elder Dragons a better nemesis, they probably should have made the Mouth of Zhaitan and/or Soveriegn Eye of Zhaitan a re-occuring enemy from the attack on Claw Island (have them kill off the mentor) all the way to Arah (rather than having 2+ of each in the storyline with dungeons). They had enough personality to act in Zhaitan’s place as a bit of a “speaker of the dragon.”
My biggest issue with villains in GW2 is that they don’t give me a reason to care. It’s too similar to Galrath in GW1 – I only cared because it was a fun quest and gave good rewards for Prophecies quests. Why care about Faolain, or Caudecus, or Gaheron, or Zhaitan? shrug Your bet is as good as mine. “Cuz they be evil and NPCs told you to care” is pretty much all I get. I actually cared about taking out Blightghast the Plaguebringer at Claw Island, cuz that kitten killed my mentors (RIP, you should have lasted longer), but that’s just about it.

While the evidence presented is hardly evidence at all, it was stated a while back by Colin Johanson that the first expansion most likely will either be Kralkatorrik or Mordremoth (He just refers to them as the Crystal dragon and the Jungle Dragon.) No, actually, he doesn’t say that. He’s asked which he thinks would be the most likely next dragon, he responds with saying who he t hinks players would enjoy seeing next – and he answers with Jormag, Kralkatorrik, the “jungle dragon” and the deep sea dragon (in that order) and stresses “that’s not necessarily the storyline we’ll go with” and the interview even comments about how Colin 100% completely dodged the question.
