I’ve been seeing a lot of people eating karka meat in character and I think it would be kittening hilarious if it turns out to be deadly poisonous or otherwise inedible.

Not sure about meat, but there’s a rather insane sylvari eating cooked karka eggs in Southsun Cove.

I actually wondered this too. Are Karkas edible? What do they taste like?

Probably like crabs, lobsters, or shrimp. Most likely the same family biologically-wise (and that central body’s tail on adults look a lot like the latter two’s).

I’m pretty sure that it’s pretty much just the same as crab meat, which they drop as well.

There eggs are certainly edible. Theres a stranded Sylvari chef on the Southsun Cove who has survived on them since her crew was wiped out. Poor girl has gone insane from the trauma. Makes a mean Karka omelette though.

I am more interested in learning if they’re sentient/self-aware or not, because if they are we’re essentially talking about consuming a minor race. Would you eat quaggan, or hylek?

Maybe Hylek, I mean frog legs are soooooo good :P

I’d imagine the Karka would taste like shrimp. Yummy!

In GW1, we helped undead eat hekets, who are cousins to hylek. So why not feast on hylek too!

Also, Lutinz, you mean sapient. They’re very much sentient, but so are cattle.
