I’m pretty certain that with the image of “most definitely” scarlet on the next update that she is very deeply involved. I’ll be sending Thal my 20 gold out of my paultry 60 gold saved and will never again make a bet when ArenaNet’s Sanity is on the line! :P

I’ll patiently await Eluviete’s and Drax’s contributions to losing the bet. Aaron paid already, tyvm.

Rather do wish I was wrong but what can I do.

That’s a historical document, though, Konig. The krait would be forced to adapt because they have been forced away from that sea floor by bubbles, they wouldn’t just abandon the concept of summoning their prophets back to Tryia.

Either way now we know it’s a weird krait obelisk tree people hybrid thing.

It’s not a krait obelisk. It’s just a krait tower built around a giant tree/flower/weed.

Also, the krait didn’t build the obelisks as far as we know. So they’ve been forced to leave them, since I doubt they’d have been able to transport those huge massive obelisks of a single block of stone while fleeing the Deep Sea Dragon.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

There’s a very strong circumstantial case and I’m confident (if “confident” is the right word) that the proof will be coming before we get halfway through the Tower of Nightmares.

However, I don’t consider a hologram appearing in WvW to be proof beyond reasonable doubt – things such as the fractals have, after all, shown that the Mists are not perfect reflections of reality on Tyria.

To those who think Scarlet hate means she’s succeeded as a villain:
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.

Been more off than on lately; between going off town, college and girlfriend I’ve had little time, so not sure if it has been defined what exactly means “Scarlet’s involvement” in this bet. She’s involved in some way, for sure, but perhaps not as extensive as it might appear to be.

I’m defining “involved” as “Scarlet or a representative of Scarlet had some contact with the builders of the tower”.

The ingame theory (held by NPCs) is that Scarlet used the obelisk pieces to entice the krait into the alliance. If that’s true – and it probably is – that certainly classifies. The thing that’s stopping me from conceding right now is the (slim) chance that the NPCs in question are wrong, and ArenaNet figured that the NPCs would follow a similar line of thought that we as players did (alliance between two disparate factions! That’s Scarlet’s MO right there!)

Whether or not there’s a “slim” chance that someone else is involved, I’m pretty sure the picture for the next update puts the last nail in the coffin. Although, should the story change somehow with the next update, then I would expect Thal to return the money I’ve sent him. I will not hold out hope for that at this particular moment.

I will still hold my doubts until the next update, something tells me it’s not just Scarlet behind all this. Plus, I still need to find 50g since I didn’t think this was a serious bet when I offered the money. :P

Wow, does this “next preview” make things feel very short sighted or too predictable? Well I guess they are really trying to build this up, because anything can happen in the tower of nightmares. Can I say get ready for another anticlimactic struggle against mediocrity? Or will a-net prove finally prove me wrong with an actual compelling narrative? I guess we will have to wait till next week to find out folks.

The preview outright confirms Scarlet’s involvement (yay for spoiling it Anet, not that I mind this time).

Interesting to showcase the Molten Berserker. We see Twisted Clockworks in the dungeon via the screenshots, I wonder if we’ll be seeing Molten Alliance – including the end-bosses – in the tower too.

Side note: that music DOES NOT fit GW2 at all.

Hrrrmn.

I was all set to declare it a done deal, and then I noticed too things:

First, while we’re getting even more circumstantial evidence, particularly the boiler image showing close to the entirety of Scarlet’s forces, but they don’t actually say she’s involved. I was all set to consider that “unreasonable doubt” anyway, and then I noticed this line:

“Things are not all as they seem. You can never know what awaits you within these dark rooms. Will you find yourself face-to-face with Scarlet’s agents, or a much more insidious enemy?”

In a chapter where hallucinations are already a significant theme and we’re seeing Scarlet underneath every rock as it is, what are the odds that we’re being deliberately set up to expect to see Scarlet’s involvement so we don’t question it when we see… what later turn out to be hallucinations?

Pretty slim, I know, but… awww, dangit. I was almost hoping the teaser would make it BRD so this could finally be resolved.
