It seems that the tormenting of souls is a definite part of the creation of Titans, so is it not possible with zones like the Realm of Torment existing (quite possibly) before the gods, that Titans could be the natural outcome of spirits that became trapped within the realm? Then later a demon came along (oh fun) and sped up the process.
That’s more or less has been my belief – or that Dhuum in his sadistic nature, accidentally discovered the means of making a titan.
