same here..it was almost over..i was pretty happy then that i was able to participate..but a new build closes everything out…heres my screeny.. i hope Anet fixes this and give those players who deserve it a chance..T_T

I’ve been sitting here for probably 20 minutes thinking about how I’m going to tell my story of today’s event, and my subsequent failure to finish it through two tries. However, I just can’t find the words. Very disappointed in how this all went down. Wow.

Exactly, I have yet to get ahold of a precursor and planned to use the one from the chest (If obtained one) to start working on making first legendary. Seemed like a good chance of getting one legendary without having to farm for weeks for the gold to buy one. Hopefully if anything they at least compensate the Karka special exotics (The Bag and Ring) to those of us who got DCed.

I don’t know how I can prove that I was fighting 2 hours long at the event till the end of the second reinforcement group and got kicked out of the game after it, crossing the steam wall… Frustrating. As it was frustrating tyring to log back and getting the error messages and then listening to the guild as they got the exotics and 20bags and legendary components

Hope Anet finds some solution.

Because I just spent a rather depressing evening trying to finish the event in over-flows but couldn’t due to server side crashes, and a forced update. I made all prior events, but missed this final one. Jesus. Why is this so depressing… This is just a game.

Very depressing end to a really exciting (and lengthy) event. Not to mention laggy! I’d also like to note all of the teamwork I witnessed while playing, I can’t believe that has gone to waste too. Not to mention playing with my guildmates. Those times are not common. Not to mention you guys didn’t let the other side of the world have their opportunity on the event when it was available I feel sorry for those guys. And then after coming back after the new build and finding no chest at the bottom after all that work? Jeez…

So many things I could type but I will keep it short… I also crashed just before the boss died and was unable to re-enter the overflow so missed out on any loot.

Very annoying as it took hours and my repair bill was crazy from the insta-death caused by extremely low FPS.

It was nice to hear in TeamSpeak that my friend got the chest… at least one of us got something (even though he too complained that the fps lag was crazy, he switched from 3D to 2D mode without much difference in performance).

What with people which was disconnected in the middle of Final Event? I was disconnected after quest where we must put rocks into geysers. After that I had DC, and cant login into games.

That people can count for any reward?

Its sad that I cant saw the final cut sceen, and be part of this event to the end.

Invested a lot of time in that event chain, only to have a disconnect and then new build finally cut it off and prevent completion. Frustrating. I hope ANet’s solution is fair to all of us.

It was great fun! But when I was kicked for 5 minutes before the final event. the mood was gone = (

This thread makes me so sad, same situation here.
It is just unbelievable that there isn’t some kind of mechanic in place to check if someone was in an event (something like, if you were there for over 50% of the event time) and disconnected, to send him the rewards through ingame email after you connect again.
That shouldn’t be to hard and will make sure that most complaining will be over.

Then it is just a matter of missing the cutscene, missing the experience.

It is simply NOT fun to be in an event for 3+ hours, get disconnected, not being able to log in again and not getting anything. If through the above mechanic, you would at least get loot then it would be a HUGE improvement.

All this wouldn’t have happened if they didn’t make it into supposedly one-time only event with expensive as hell rewards when both were stupid ideas through and through.

They deserved all the bad PR they get.

Has Anet provided any official statement? Surely they’re not going to simply overlook all the technical problems people had while attempting this event?

kitten YOU A net this just happened to me too, when i reconected the boss was down and i didnt even get any loot…. agh WASTE OF TIME not even foguth the last battle, kitten YOU kitten YOU……….

almost 6 hours later i come and see my rage, I have to say the event was really good, i enjoyed it up to the point of the DC where everything went to hell… keep up the good work, and please, never do ONE TIME ONLY events… when your servers cannot support it.

Happened to me too! It was a long and painful process trying to kill those monsters to then suddenly be disconnected and having lost all that work. No reward. I was so angry!

Yup me too. As they say Misery likes Company and by the looks of it I have a lot of company. 2.5 hrs of killing, rezzing, dying and countless visits to the armour repairer and what for, nothing. Its not as if the event was particularly good I know why it was a Once in a Lifetime Event, I don’t think I could go through it all again, tedious and boring as can be evidenced by all the similar comments whilst the event was going on. It would not have been so bad had there been rewards but to DC 15min before the end and then to get the ‘There must be something wrong with your firewall’ message and to not even get to log back into the game sucks. I appreciate what was put on for us and Arenanet must be applauded for adding new content but please please please do some decent stress testing on the servers before the next event!!!!!

Event was fun ‘til the lagfest hit and then got disconnected. Bummed out because I had so much fun ’til the dc. Couldn’t even login to forums here after the dc, let alone to the game. Shame.

So, I’m to understand, bugs aside, that there were some items (presumably decent) that dropped from the chest, and there was a chance at a precursor?

Am I further to presume that some players, because of the time zone in which they live, now get a “tough luck” message, and that we, having paid the same amount for the game content, effectively get looked over because this was a “one time” event?

So, will the people who played for around 2:30-3 hours but couldnt continue through the second reinforcment stage due to MAJOR lag and getting d/c, only to come back around 10 minuets later and finding the event over, be compensated and recive the rewards?

Then my gf want’s to go to bed, (pc is at the bedrom)
But i magicaly dc’s , so i run out of the bedroom open my laptop and update the game on it, tok about 5-10 min, in the meanwhile i log back into the game with my stasjonary pc, and everything is okey! And then i try to log into the game with my laptop after the updating! But loginservers are down!!!! We where almost finnished with the anicent crabby dude! ALMOST!!!! where is my loot? where is my smile? where is my happiness?? nowhere to be found…..

Yep, disconnected on final, then couldn’t log back in, and I’m supposed to recommend this game?

I don’t understand why they don’t send the rewards by email. I lost hours doing the event, got disconnect at the end and did not get ANYTHING.
Fail event, srsly. Send rewards to all, or stop doing event, because you guys definitely do not know how promote an event.

I don’t know that a repeat would be helpful. I played 3 hours at start yesterday, and another 3 hours in the evening. Both times I was there for the Ancient Karga killing, but first time the hatchlings killed me, and second time I disconnected. I don’t want to go through all that again and take the chance.

I got to complete the first event (kitteny 1.85 silver reward). Went on to the second event (drive the ancient karka back to nesting grounds), suffered increasingly horrible lag and eventually crashed to character select. Immediately logged back in, only to be put in an overflow server where the FIRST event hadn’t even started yet due to lack of players. At that point, it was 22:40 (CET) and I just gave up in massive frustration. Fun was NOT had.

Developers, PLEASE implement some code to let people who crash rejoin their original instance. Other games have this, why don’t you?

One thing that makes me wonder is the “quality of service”. I got disconnected on the 2 previous events and i had some small hope that things might be better in the last one. After the 1rst dc i had to struggle with 3k ms lag (thats 3 whole secs) and chat lag was even worse. I gave up really i don’t really care about the loot stuff but i am really dissapointed over the quality of service and the whole events planning. The more time that passes by the more i wonder if anyone who was involved in Guild Wars 1 is really involved in this game.

Same thing got disconnected while doing the final event, wasted 3 hours for nothing. The whole event would have been good if it were not for the lags. I do not want to do the event again. Just send the items to us and do not disappoint us again. I am very displeased!

indeed, indeed, dear anet, i entered 5 times, only to be lagged, disconnected, and eventually, when i managed to join an overflow server, going through the time to actually help the demolition team, then kill the insane reinforcements of karka and herd the ancient back to the soon to be lava pit … poof funny, isn’t it ?

and please, since i am already posting here … if an enemy already is being pommeled by a zerg for 2 minutes, every additional minute does NOT add to more fun, it gets more boring, since essentially nothing new happens. and if you have several such enemies, it does not add to the fun, seriously, it doesn’t, really. not if it is again and again the same thing. it doesn’t matter where it is an karka, an giganticus lupicus, a subject alpha, or any other boss or boss-like creature.

now i am aware that big huge events in a non-instanced world are hard to design, for example, i did like the idea of the hatchlings, which would jump on you, and do a facehug or whatever, now if the veterans and champions would have simply had half the HP, and the hatchlings would have had two-three times the HP, and there were more of them, it would have been much funnier. at least i think so, and perhaps you would have an option to remove it from someone else, or such thing. now that would have been, comparedly, more interesting.

Got disconnected/crashed 3 times (2 times because of the sound bug) during the event. I ended up having to do certain things twice since when I logged in again I joined a different server. Then during the Ancient Karka part I crashed, because of the sound bug, and the login servers were down. Couldn’t login for 15 minutes and when I returned the Ancient Karka was dead and no reward for me.. Didn’t even see him die, last thing I did see was that we had to put rocks on him and after that we had to kill a kittenload of reinforcements again. We had almost killed all of those when I crashed. Tried to login a couple of times, hoping I would get an overflow server which hadn’t finished yet. Couldn’t find one unfortunately. I enjoyed the event, apart from the disconnects, hope I will get the reward in the end since I did spent 2,5 – 3 hours of my weekend on the event… Just feel a bit screwed over after reading alot of posts about the amazing drops people got, hope to get atleast the bag and amulet…

Thank you for your routine maintenance, anyone seen the reddit posts about this? It really reflects my true feelings about this whole fiasco.

My summary of Lost Shores is a buggy, glitched crashing mess with routine maintenance thrown in.

Same here, got disconected at the final battle and couldn’t log in for 20 min, and when I finaly got in the event was over.

Atleast they’re looking in to it, so I still have hope.

I just wanted to say, it looked really promising, but I died a gazillion times due to not being able to see mobs. Getting from server to server made me miss out the fight in the server I was in at first. Then going to another to find out I had to redo a whole part, I just finally dropped adherer hours of playing. And ended up with nothing. The event was really promising and cool to do, but it turned out to be frustrating and a waste of my hours spent. I quit cuz it wild take a lot of time to complete it again, and well some people have to wake up early for work…

I got the same thing……was just about to finish the event and then get disconnected……so very frustrated Anet!

WTF ANet. ONE overflow left with the event, and you toss in a build. Glad I didn’t bother trying to get into the overflow to make up for DCs and loss of loot! Brilliant guys and gals. Just BRILLIANT.

Same here, first time i join in for the karka event at Southsun and played for over 2 hours, finally finished (enduring much lag) went to open chest and… had a brief moment of seeing nice exotic stuff, and before i could accept the loot, i got d/ced A box appeared for me to check and report to Anet, so i checked it. By the time i got back in, still with guildies party and same overflow (no problem there), i was not able to find my loot to retrieve them, the chest has already been opened. It’s sad but i do understand that these things happen.

I must commend you tho for a great game and would like to thank you for putting alot of efforts in keeping it very engaging and entertaining. Please keep up the good work, I really do appreciate it very much!

Same issue as most of the other posts, dc’d after 2 hours or so of taking part in event, unable to get back in, unable to post, not recognised on login etc. All I got was “mugged” i.e. died a lot and paid for repairs. A very disappointing end to the event which could have been so much better……

And that, people, is why everyone should enable autoloot. It saves lives.

Had numerous dc during the whole last part ( after you start attacking the ancient karka) and always came back in but had to change overflows to play whit my friend. Then just as we downed the first of the 2 champion karkas in the second reinforcment phase i dc annd the usual firewall router stuff comes up.. I try to relog its just giving me the usualunable to log in. I keep doing this for half an hour and no luck at all :-( spending 2 and half hour doing an event and understanding about the lag and suddenly this, really effing me out :-( is it even worth hopeing for some “decent” compensation

Connections problem here also. Even from the beginning of the event (Friday)the lag was horrible and the game (almost) unplayable. From phase 1 ,i have stuck with 3 items which i dont know what to do with them anymore . I didnt had the chance to complete Gukumatz and Fadh al’Eshadhi quests, because they were removed(????) …
So i try the new dungeon…..I managed to complete one section of it with a group, on Sunday afternoon because the game was kicking me out constantly. After i was logging in again i had to find a new group and start from scratch.
And in Phase 3 somehow i managed to (i dont know how)connect and get to the point where we had to destroy 5 Karka webbing ….and thats when the event ended for me.I could not connect anymore (at least for the event).
I am not complaining about the loss of the loot (yes it would be nice of course) but for the fact that the game was unplayable and not enjoyable even on other areas of the game (besides the event).
The Mad king event (at least for me ) was smooth, enjoyable and quite fun. This was not.
The event was very nice for the people who actually played it. I just didn’t!!

I’m embarassed to have invited my friends to witness this weekend-long fiasco. Hours into the final event and all we got is a D/C error screen. While those lucky few show off their loot, all we got is the repair bill.

PS. Anet should name a dragon after itself. The frustrated amongst the community would gladly slay it.
