I crashed right as we were finishing the 2nd reinforcement phase. Now I’m SOL because every overflow is done, done, done. Really unhappy. Reconsidering whether I really wanna bother with this game.

Same. Disconnected right before defeating the Ancient Karka and wasn’t able to log back in to get a reward.

Also disconnected at the last minute, it’s making me so angry and sad that my head hurts. The people showing off their fancy bags is the least helpful thing for that.

An entire weekend without validation. Please give us aknowledgement or something.

i also went through the whole event and got dc’d. im pissed, all that time wasted

I played for over 4 hours killing these stupid things. Near the end I die and no one revives me. I try and re spawn at a waypoint. It lags and I have to disconnect. Get back in, only took a couple minutes. Boss is dead. Everyone has all this cool loot. I get nothing. Do you see my name? My name is the void is cold. I dont like sending people there. But I will if I must.

I also missed the chest. I had died in an area no one could reach me to rez me. I waypointed and the chest disappeared in front of me. I just bought this game and am starting to wonder if it was worth it.

Not even remotely the same issue as the people posting in this thread. Complaining about one event where you likely died due to inexperience (just going on an assumption, you probably stood on the death location of the Ancient Karka and fell into the middle of the lava) is a pretty poor basis for demanding a make up reward. But sure, blame the developers and judge the game with a skewed perception due to a player error. Staging this fight as a one-time event was obviously an awful decision, but no one can be blamed for you dying but yourself.

Don’t be like that. Most people here wouldn’t even have an issue if the despawn for the chest wasn’t so fast. You should get a chance to loot for participating, no matter how bad you did.

dito – not happy – there must be some way for Anet to track event participation and reward players accordingly through the mail.

Same here, after hours of fighting monotonous mobs, game crashed, and couldn’t get back to the same server because it’s full. Kind of a waste of time in the end for me.

Final event, got the karka down to 1/2 hp. Got disconnected.
Couldnt even get back into the event until it was over, so i got no loot or no idea what happens at the end.
BIGGEST waste of time and effort for nothing.

I never even got to experience the event.
It bugged at the first part on my server. And it still is bugged as of now. Finally left and kept just going in and out of the map to try to get in a overflow that wasn’t done.
It sucks all around to be honest, and the people who got dced should get some kind of compensation.

Took part in event (over 3 hours of play), got DCed and when I got back on the event was over. tried to change the server and world, but still can’t get reward. Will something be done about this? If so, who would I talk to about it?

Happened to me because everyone fell into the lava and during rerez over at Owain’s the loading screen froze but the sound continued and I could still hear the explosion. Reloaded the client, and couldn’t get the items.

I’m hugely disappointed. I think all who fought all the way to the end, should have been rewarded instead of run over by a zillion hatchlings. Some players survived those buggers, because of their class abilities, armor, whatever. In a game that is so reliant on gamers having good gear, and touting all the higher gear available, an event like this, where some lucky survivors get to the chest, doesn’t seem fair to some of us. :*(

2.5 hours. Got to the end. Died and the stupid loading screen stuck. Waited.. cooked dinner.. took the dogs out.. came back and had to restart. I could hear stuff but it just wouldn’t reload..

Now trying to find an overflow that’s not finished.. Think I’m out of luck :/ Really getting pissed.

Same here. Was very frustrating after playing all that time and the game locking up at the very end. Hopefully Anet will fix this.

Same here. Extremely frustrating to play through it twice for 3 hours just to be disconnected at the very end and not get anything.

…also DC’d right before the battle ended. Not a single drop or next step to talk with NPC’s. Just a repair bill cost on my armor/weapons this sux… think i may save myself the insult an just go level crafting skills on my warrior the next time an event is announced.

(Just before the DC where i missed the chest loot) myself and another player noticed a karka regenerated health or maybe this was a result of lag..? not seeking answers.. I just want to play in the epic events with online friends. Putting this info out there in hopes the events can run a little smoother on next event.

They need to treat this as a trial run, and prepare better for rerunning the event.

Anet needs to look at this post, and make note of the players names responding , check there logs and make things right.

It seems that this is a major problem for a LOT of people that were partaking in the Lost Shores event (myself among them) on pretty much every server and overflow server. My question is what is going to be done about it?

I had the exact thing happen to me, too. The last couple days of this event, the UFO sound has started up, and ends in error each time. I never had that error before this event. Today, it happened quite a bit before I was kicked, but I had been able to complete yesterday’s quest despite it, so I continued on. Just as we got to the steam vents with the Ancient, I was kicked. When I logged back in, I was placed into an overflow that had completed it already.

I can’t believe it… Got disconnected numerous times during the event and then once more at the end. 3 hours and no reward…

I was also disconnected about 45 seconds before the Ancient Karka died after I put in close to 3 hours doing the event. Was disconnected due to some issue with login server or something, by the time I got back he was dead and no reward at all, is there any way we could get at least the bag reward mailed to those of us that had unfortunate server issues?

I was up to the final stage on my overflow server, in the middle of a huge Rez party about to take on the boss for the final time down in the Lava and BAM… disconnect. I was unable to join another server that still had the event active. This took me about 3 hours, give or take a few minutes.

I’m gonna give it a day or two, but I am seriously thinking about uninstalling this game. Something I do for entertainment shouldn’t be this frustrating or disappointing. I play these games for fun and I was really looking forward to a new 20 slot bag and that awesome trinket… now I am just fuming mad and rather disillusioned with this event and potential fun of future events.

ArenaNet, please help to restore some good faith by giving anyone who was flagged for the quest/event completion in driving back the Ancient Karaka the quest rewards as if they were finished. That would be awesome for you to do and fairly easy to implement.

They need to do some heavy work on the bugs that were present on this AND the investigation NPCs and try this again in a month when they get it working right.

i actually went through 4 different overflows and repeated progress 4 times.
none counted.

Arena Net, nice way to botch a “one time event”. I invited all my friends to play in hopes that this would get them interested in a game that I have played since the release of GW1.

I played this over 2 hour event to almost the end when your server disconnected me and was non responsive and when I came back to finish it put me in a different instance where the instance was finished and my husband, friends that I invited, and guildmates were back in only to find that we get nothing in return for all the time we put into your event. NOTHING. Then, when I made it back to the overflow I was placed in (since your servers couldn’t handle the population) I was still rewarded with NOTHING, as well as countless others at this point. My husband and I, as well as the friends we invited are all ready to scrap the whole game now that we have spent most of our time on since your release. I defended your game, I even sell your game at my retail establishment and sold it to countless others as a great game that I will now refuse to sell people unless you fix this issue. Mail me the quest rewards, I don’t care how I get them as long as you resolve this issue! I am so disappointed it’s ludicrous.

Same issue here. DC’ed right before event completion and no chest. After putting 2.5 hours of work into this, there better be some sort of compensation. Even a repeat event, although maybe not 2.5 hours this time. Wouldn’t be fair for us to have to work twice as hard to get the same rewards as those lucky enough to stay connected.

Same, I had an issue with my NIC right before the end. My NIC failing is not Anets fault, but it’s poor game design. There should not be a “single point of failure” for rewards on an event that long. As a lower level player I wasn’t even getting exp for killing the karka. A better way to handle it would have been to split up the events in the final phase and give a smaller reward after each. Anyway, bad luck for me…

I spent 2 hours working at these events and didn’t even get to get the reward at the end, and will never be able to again.

I really do not know why ANet are trying to do these huge events when their infrastructure cannot handle it.

It is really disapointing from a company/game that I like.

I was dced also btw.

I spent about 2 hours in one overflow, ended up getting kicked out.. around where we had it pushed back to that geyer wall. Before that cast time was upwards of 10+ seconds. So basically I spent 2 hours pushing hard and then got squat for it. Didn’t even get to see the kitten thing die.

Huge let down.. and its not the first let down in this game. I’m seriously starting to regret this purchase at this point.

Im kind of laughing now because when this happened to me i felt like the unlukiest person in teh world but now im more okay with it.

Server: Tarnished Coast Overflow

I signed on when the last lost shore event started.

I played through the entire event & I would DC every once & while. No problem, the Ancient Karka took forever to get back into its cave & murderlated. However after the cutscene I get DC’d again & log back in to no chest.

Is there anyway that an Anet employee could send me what would have been in the chest?

Pics or it didn’t happen. So here is a screen cap that shows I waded thru 3 hrs of laggy combat & kill that overgrown…kitten.

Scoot over..this boat is getting full. Same deal basically, died at the very end, got stuck at the waypoint splash screen so I missed the chest at the end. I get bupkis. I am very frustrated and quite a bit miffed.

I will also add to this: All was acceptable until the massive spawns in the last 30-40 min and I started getting disconnected. 7 TIMES, I was disconnected and able to get back in where I left off. The eighth time, I was placed in a friggin server already done!!! Ran to the lava pit and sure enough, there it was DEAD, no chests and after 2+ hours of rezing, dieing, lagging and pretty much getting bored with the repetitive longevity of it…GOT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! Looked forward to the event after seeing the releases each day over 4 days and played a lot of factuals to bone up for the fight. So disappointed and upset that ArenaNet did not plan better for this. To massive of spawns with to many players made it a depressing event and more so by not getting my end event reward…What a TOTAL disappointment!!!

We were slow. Only just finishing up the second reinforcement phase of the event. Lagged out and was disconnected. 5 minutes later I get back in to an overflow server where its done.

I’m thinking they’ll put an npc in lion’s arch to give items to those who participated in the event like they did at halloween.

Got disconnected several times myself on top of the massive lag… there’s nothing like having all skills flashing and not being able to attack anything and then suddenly ending up dead.

After the last DC when I managed to log back the event was over and low and behold absolutely no rewards for my time spent. Tried several re-logs and all the same deal which was just the icing on the cake.

This would have to be one of the BIGGEST bodged events I have come across in all the games I have played. Arenanet either need to re-run the event or at least give some sort of reward to those who contributed something to Phase 3.

I hope Anet does something about this; spending over 2 hours grinding through reinforcements just to be d/c’d at the end and missing out on the reward. Compensation for server lag/ crashes is very unlikely and I doubt there will even be an acknowledgment that there was an issue. What a disappointment and waste of time. Congrats to all those that were able to complete it and get stuff, though.

I had the loading screen crash too after falling into the lava along with lots of other in my server.
