Just wanted to say thanks to Anet for this addition to the rewards. I made a similar suggestion regarding adding a key to the map completion rewards (except cities) earlier and wanted to say thanks and hope that you throw those in as part of future episode rewards as well.

and the Super Adventure Box continue coins, from one of the previous ones on the other hand….a kick in the balls. ;_;

The Black Lion Key was a reward for completing Into the Labyrinth, which was the last part of the Tangled Paths living world episode.

Gosh, i’ve finished the story so i must have got it. Probably used it and got nothing of note ^^

I have to agree, the BL Key was a nice addition. Originally I was rather P.O.ed about not getting a glove box for every toon that completed it, but have since come to terms on that and find it only a very slight annoyance rather than a real issue. In the end, I think I prefer this key reward.

The BL Key was a nice reward, but I’d have preferred the Glove box over a lottery ticket that will almost certainly just give me more junk to stuff in my bank.

I don’t know what to say, I did not know you can get multiple BL keys by doing the story on more characters. The extra gloves would have been nice, but the BL key is not really something to scoff at. I was extremly lucky with mine and I got a gold ticket and a total makeover kit, but even if you get one scrap, that is still worth ~6-10 gold, while buying one skin from the vendor is 1g+1000 crests, which I think is less… Of course, you won’t always get that scrap, but just about anything you get out of the BL chest is somewhat useful. You need to see the bigger picture and I think this is more rewarding in terms of value than just one piece of armor. And farming for 1k crests for one piece of armor is very easy, you can do it casually in a few days without breaking a sweat AND get some sweet rewards along the way from the events, breach completion and labyrinth.

Overall, I think I am okay with this… and will do story again on a few more chars for that key! It’s not as quick as key farm used to be, but at least you get some decent-ish rewards along the way, and the story is not bad.

Not something I would have picked, necessarily, given a choice, but still, I would put it into the ‘cool’ category. At least it was an actual thing, and not a chance for a thing, like that stupid RNG within RNG dye kit I got the other day with a 1 in 6 chance for an ‘exclusive’ dye.

Your quaggan backpack IS the RNG loot and you had 1 of 62 chances to get it

Yup. When we open a black lion chest…

We have a chance to get a quaggan backpack.
We have a chance for a chance to get an exclusive dye from a dye kit.

(In this case it was a Deathly Dye Kit, with the exclusive colors being comprised of various ‘deathly’ shades of green which can drop, evidently, from the Tequatl Rising event. I got ‘Tang’, which is a common dye, and one I already had.)

A chance is chancy enough, but offering someone a chance for a chance is just trolling. A non-troll company would dispense with the chance for a ‘dye kit’ and give us straight up a chance for an exclusive dye. Even if it is a random exclusive dye, which is RNG within RNG within RNG.
