Broken World Events
There will always be bugs on patch day, just like the first release of a game council, or a new windows softwear will always have bugs. The simplest reason is that an issue that only 1 out of 500 players will find and trip over, will not be noticed by a beta of only 100, or that a system that can stand the stress of a 100 testers, may very well buckle at the stress of 1000… there are simply factor they will not be awear of until post release.
Here’s what I found out is bugged:
The 5th event, the seed event at the 2 charrs in the cave at the Bandwatch Encampment in Iron Marches never spawns. It is literally – 100% bugged 100% of the time.
The event in Frostgorge Sound at the Coiled Watch POI sometimes get’s stuck at 9/10 waves. Not always, but sometimes and even sometimes shouldn’t happen. Wave stop coming and it’s just stuck there. I did it like 6 times and it got stuck once.
The last part of the 5event chain in FGS in Barrowstead sometimes bugs out in a way where you kill the first Svanir guy, and then the last two stay green and are unkillable. And then we all just sit there, looking at eachother.
that’s what I’ve discovered, I’d like the Iron Marches Seed event fix first, because I’m stuck at 4/5 now lol I hope there’s no bugs in storymode

At least you didn’t say anything about not paying a subscription. I h8 when people say that. I’ve bought enough gems to pay for more than one expansion of new content and happy to support. To Be Clear: I’m not complaining or feel I’m entitled to content, I’m just happy he “didn’t go there”

I just went through the LS2 E3 with another toon (first one completed) and yes still buggin with Svanir part.

Guest, it’s working on most servers/maps. Still not completely fixed though, that’s true.
Day 3 and I still can’t complete the Living Story because of game-breaking bugs. “When it’s ready” is dead. Long live “when it’s due”!
Lets just hope the bugs get fixed before the next LS episode is out :P

The NPC bug from boss fight of the last episode wasn’t fixed when this chapter came out. I’m less than hopeful.
I would honestly be willing to wait more than two weeks for each new episode if it meant they were properly functioning when they were released.
Stanidng in frostgorge and waiting for 3 dollys to move to get too the other part done of the living story ..but nothing is happening. Why is it so buggy the last parts went so fine for me but atm its all bugged hope to see a fix soon . Iam so curious too the story but cant progress now
Can we have some update, or do you just want us to stand around waiting at these stalled events indefinitely? I’d like to finish the achievements for the open world content and maybe run other characters through.
1) I notice that on the collect sample portion of the Blazeridge chain, you no longer need the event to progress the story. Have you given up fixing that? If yes, when will the next server reset/patch be, so we might have a chance to get it done before it bugs? If no, how long will the open world content be available?
2) Same questions on the Frostgorge chain. I’ve never seen the capture Coiled Watch portion, it only seems to reset back to the defend part, or else it stalls.
And why are events required for LS content on such absurdly long timers? I actually like that there’s open world content as part of this, but needing to wait 20 or 30 minutes to advance to the next step with no idea when it will be available is just silly.

Nope. Girlfriend and I did the frostgorge chain. I could destroy the pillar…she couldn’t. Finished it about 15 minutes ago.

Late to commenting on this. At least some layers have been working and I’ve spent hours actively taxiing players from bad to good layers. Let’s keep helping each other the best we can while the dev’s iron out the issues.
as long as this is still bugged…i’m not bothering (i like doing the entire chain in one go).
theoretically, i like LS being a mix of instance and open world………but if you guys don’t have the capability, pls keep it instanced like the first 2 eps.

Nice job with that, finished the LS episode today. But please, avoid open world events like this if possible for the LS, they make it harder on you and us since one screw-up in the code (I know how easy it is to make an error in code that screws up everything, : instead of ; for an example) can lock everybody out.

In Frostgorge Sound there is a problem with totem destroying LW progression.
I believe destruction of totem is not character bound but map bound. After event only 1 person gets to click on it and destroy it.
Reson I think so? = I couldnt progres it couse totem was destoryed, once it respawned i clicked on it and it blew up, rest of people couldn’t progress event as i couldn’t earlier.
It’s just speculation.
Is it just me or the Iron March sample event still not working properly?
Sure it spawns, but there is no enemy spawns in order to get coated to collect samples.
Edit: Seems to work now. Guess it had to fail so many times for stuff to start spawning.

Do not forget the other events.
We’ve been reporting stalling events since before release.
And now, there’s events stalled by these events.
In Iron Marches there’s a really, really long event chain that starts as normal events and triggers a meta-event that ends with the Devourer Queen event and the trait.
This event has been stalling after the first try (and often even on the first try) so people could ONLY attempt it once when a new map copy was created, or after updates.
Now, these mordrem events will prevent the second event (Escort Sentinel Scalebrusher) from going on.
The NPC stands there, on the location with the Gravelash event, and it won’t move forward.
I though “Maybe the meta-event will trigger without the previous chain”.
No. It does not.
Before, getting the trait was extremely hard. Now it is IMPOSSIBLE unless you go to the trainer. I do not want to go to the trainer. I want to earn it. The way I was told I could earn it. I do not want to spend more time complaining in the forums about not being able to do things than doing things.
You should have checked if there were other events in the path of the new events, and displaced them if needed (devourers have swim animations), or make the other event wait until the escort event passes.
And the nearby champion will never, ever drop those antidotes. It’s supposed to drop them, but it never does. I’ve done it more than 20 times, not even once anything like kitteneable object spawned anywhere near the champion.
There’s countless other stalling events that keep stalling and have been stalling since release, and have been reported countless times, like the meta event at the Dome in Wayfarer foothils, that stalls when the boss won’t come out of his lodge, or the Ogre Wars meta that stalls when the eta-event says either or both sides are attacking and to talk with some NPC and the NPC is in another status, or the Commissar not spawning when one of the events stalls and doesn’t even start, but the NPC that gives the bombs to start it is there and gives the bombs.
I can’t really understand this. Why making traits require events that are known for stalling? It’s common sense to have some list of events reported to have issues and check it whenever anything related to these events is added or changed. Then either require something else for the trait, or fix the event and make sure it works on live.

Frostgorge still broken in at least one event. WHen getting to the totem, I accidentally destroyed the totem before the event was finished (if nearby and you press F thinking you are looting, you can destroy it early). The story chapter couldn’t complete.
A couple of relogs fixed it, but that’s not an ideal solution really.
If someone is in a ‘broken world event’ fixing mood. Care to take a look at Ogre Wars in Fields of Ruin? As far as I can tell if any of the NPCs involved(either from the charr or human side) die at the wrong point the whole thing just stalls forever. Wrong points seems extremely plentiful.
The last event in the chain is required for unlocking trait II in the fifth trait line if it makes any difference …

And while we’re on the subject, there’s still that poor Seraph Observer camp in Brisban Wildlands getting assaulted by endless waves of Bandits.
The event where you need to coat yourself is certainly still bugged :/ Plus those events which are normally there already seem to just flat out stop during an escort ?

there’s an issue with destroying the totem before the event finishes. it completely bugs out. after defeating the few bosses surrounding it, i’ve noticed that sometimes a couple of players get close enough to it destroy it before the event is finished ~not entirely sure if it’s by accident or on purpose ~ though once they do and the event is done, anyone needing to destroy it won’t be able to. please fix this by not allowing player to interact with it before the event is done or look into it for other possible solutions.

I’ve been by that camp, and that’s been fixed, at least when I’ve been by. Can’t speak for the rest of the events, though.
Two weeks later, and the event chain in Iron Marches is still broken. There’s simply no excuse for that.
Just did the totem event with my boyfriend. I can destroy it and he can’t. Frankly, if people were complaining about this close to three weeks ago and up to a week ago, I honestly don’t understand why it hasn’t been fixed yet.
