Calling it now: Male Asura next month!
I still don’t see Canach as a possible young DE member. Not just that IMO he isn’t a hero but a delusional extremist that thinks that he’s a hero, but there is something Kasmeer, Rox and Braham have in common that he doesn: All those 3 have unique faces and hairstyles that no player con use. None of both Canach’s versions (pre and post the redesign) can be used by Sylvari players. If they’re doing the “unique looks” (or at least unique until an expansion lets us use more face and hairstyle options) for this young DE guys, and Canach was 100% redesigned… why keep him with an appareance that anyone can use?
Anyway I don’t see it (Canach as a main hero) happening. I support the “all opposite sex” thing. And technically Zojja would be the opposite sex to her Asura master Snaff (same way Rytlock is the new warband boss of Rox and Eir is Braham’s mommy, all them are one way or another mentor/parental figure like Snaff was to Zojja) despite that in the incarnation we know of the group Zojja is the “main” Asura which may still open the doors for a young male disciple for Zojja. And we still need to know what exactly will happen with Kasmeer before jumping to other possible candidates. I think she will be a hero as what we currently know from her points more in that direction, but who kows, she may even turn up to be the nemesis.

In fact, I would say that the main charater for the last living story is the Human Kiel. Remember that, in game, kasmeer is just an add and in the blog it was the story of Kiel and what she experienced with kasmeer and faren.
We all agree that Kasmeer is more interesting that Kiel, but the protagonist is still Kiel.

This.
What has Kasmeer done to advance the story? So far all she’s done was to stand around in a bikini and small-talk. If that’s the skill set that gets you into DE…
Ô_ó
Helen Kiel’s role wasn’t as big as Rox’ or Braham’s, but I think that was due to budget constraints and shortcomings in storytelling – it would have felt more significant with one or the other cutscene thrown in. And arguably, what happened in Southsun didn’t (so far) have the impact that the Molten Alliance had. But still, I’d support Inspector Kiel all the way.

I don’t.

I will be ‘digging it’ when they are united and become GW2’s version of heroes/henchmen.
I don’t think Anet should be making more supergroups a la Destiny’s Edge much less Destiny’s Edge: The Next Generation.
Anet is really hit or miss with their (supposedly sympathetic) characters so any supergroup they make will be ruined by having (at least) one AWFUL character.
Old Destiny’s Edge: Eir whines way too much about being over the hill (it’s all she ever talks about)… but it’s Logan Thackarey who ruins the whole thing: I absolutely hate him, he’s just a little kitten.
By the way, anyone else disappointed in Braham’s baby faced in-game looks? It’s just awful compared to his pretty awesome load screen look.

But Ellen Kiel is more a representative of the Lion’s Guard (multi-racial) than human interests. There are many characters that are more representatives of their their multi-racial organization than their proper races. Braham and Rox were clear representatives of their people. We still need to know what’s up with Kasmeer but she comes from Divinity’s Reach nobility and has unique face+hairstyle+armor (Kiel only has unique shoulderguards :P) so she has more chances to be relevant. Kiel already had some protagonism in the Lost Shores and she didn’t shine much, and this time around she isn’t shining too much either despite the spotlight being all over her. Both Canach and Kasmeer (this one just by standing around with mysterious air) are stealing the show from her.
its possible its a male assura.
But why does every one think bikini Kassmeer is our hero? personally I think she is our nemesis and Kiel is the one we will be seeing more of

It’s already stated that she’s working for someone as an investigator (so if villian, she’s not the nemesis). My personal theory is that she’s from the Shinning Blade.
Btw, about the “opposite sex to the DE race representative”, I just realized there is already a group of fight matching the condition: The leaders of the 5 most important multi-racial organizations: Lionguard (male Norn), Pact (male Sylvari), Vigil (female Charr), Priory (male Asura) and Order of Whispers (female Human). They would be a really powerful group (and Traeharne would have Logan’s role as the most disliked member of the group hehe).

I don’t really know why we would need to have a new destiny’s edge, why not use the old members, and add rox, braham, kiel, and whoever else they decide to add for the living story.
I rather not have another Destiny’s Edge-style group. We already have DE to deal with all the Elder Dragons. We don’t need mini-DE to deal with all the Living Stories as well. I don’t mind them introducing new characters in the LS. I just don’t want them to pull focus onto them.
The Living Story is suppose to be about the world, and the world doesn’t revolve around a single small group of people. It’s bad enough we already have DE…
looks like from the previews we may have to wait to be introduced to the Asura Npc if that is what we are getting – a break from the story telling for some fun?
Calling it now!
Think about it: all the “big characters” so far have been the opposite gender of the character of the same race in Destiny’s Edge.
Living Story:
Male Norn Braham
Female Charr Rox
Male Sylvari Canach
Female Human Kasmeer
Male Asura ???Destiny’s Edge:
Female Norn Eir
Male Charr Rytlock
Female Sylvari Caithe
Male Human Logan
Female Asura ZojjaSee the trend?
Is anyone else digging a ‘new generation’ Destiny’s Edge too?
Cant u just as argue that Destiny’s Edge Snaff was the Asura member so Zojja could be it in the new one?
I wonder if with Asura there must always be 2 like sith lords a master and apprentice.

Male Asura, unique face, previous involvement in GW2…
We all agree that Kasmeer is more interesting that Kiel, but the protagonist is still Kiel.
I…I love them both.

I like those characters and approve of them as members of a Young DE
Lord Pharaoh – sylvari ranger
etc, etc – one 80 of each class
Err did everyone forgot about Moto and his Super Adventure Box? Sure he wasn’t that involve with the other npc like Rox but he is a newly created npc just like the rest of them!
There’s also a disproportionate amount of Asura that’ve been central in the major living story arcs (the mad king, the karka – both times, SAB, etc) to the point some people were actually complaining that Asura were getting too much air time. (frankly, as the master race of tyria we deserve ALL the air time)
Garnished Toast
Well, we all know which male Sylvari could lead a new Destiny’s Edge to glory.
Of course the man whos second in command killed the Elder Dragon Zhaitan. No other than Marshal Trahearne himself!

KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!
…also, there have been alot of Asura characters created since the whole living story started. Do we really need any more?

An asura with a flamethrower perhaps?
