Just noticed this when hanging around LA. Didn’t he lose his eye during the Siege of Lion’s Arch or was it only slightly injured? Either way, I kind of miss that eyepatch he was rockin’ up until now.

edit: btw, on mythbusters they showed that not all pirates who wore an eye patch did it cause of a missing eye. Some did it cause it helped them see in the dark because the cones in the eyes weren’t effected by light, thus giving a slight “night vision”.

It’s the be (and then etched) not etched by itself. (Try saying be then etch, quickly)

Stop watching dem pirates for a minute and they steal ALL THE STUFF. EVEN THE EYE PATCH!

Which is odd, given that without the eye patch you’d probably see them stealing it.

Isn’t it 100% better vision?

Depends on the quality of the new vision and from when you start to count.
If he started with 100% vision (with 2 eyes), lost one eye which is a decrease of 50% but then got his eye back he’d have that 50% back. But if we start from 1 eye than yes the addition of another eye would be 100% (or doubled).

Its a big conspiracy. Magnus has been replaced by a Inquest/Scarlet created clone, that they made before he lost it in the battle, for some unknown nefarious plot and they forgot to “remove” it.

While we’re on this subject, did we finally stick Robert Trinitie back in his grave?

And two years later, the April Fools prank will revolve around everyone receiving eye patches as a nod back to this oversight.

Then the forums will erupt in flames as people complain that ArenaNet are insensitive to people with vision problems.

Wow, Peter! What a totally missed opportunity to put the eye patch on his other eye instead.

I actually don’t even remember that happening… o.o

Well; actually I don’t even remember seeing him anywhere during the whole thing; except I think announcing when the poisonous gas would rise up again or something like that. And I think I’ve even usually missed that and only ever saw the timer running out… I don’t actually remember reading or seeing his announcements. Uff… feels like it happened years ago.

During Escape from Lion’s Arch in season 1, he fought in Fort Marriner. He complained about his eye during the fight with the Molten Berserker. Next update (Battle for Lion’s Arch), he showed up with an eyepatch.
