Dear Kasmeer... I am not your "friend"
I am a sylvari, LS heroes are my friends, you are a sylvari, yet you are not my friend.
Kas is the only one I have issue with being referred to as a friend, she called my human warrior stinky when I was standing next to her. Never liked her since.
“Kasmeer Meade: Maybe we need a strong perfume like what I spray on a hankie when around…aromatic warriors.”
LOL! Stinky warriors.
^ blame McCoy :P
And I suppose you smell like a bed of roses after swinging a heavy hammer around for hours at a time? Oh wait…
To elicit such an emotional response out of me, I have to say the comment itself was well written. After so many months I still have not forgiven Kas.
Anyway, we are not stinky, it is a healthy natural musk.
Sorry but DE 2.0 isn’t comparable to DE. I despise some of the new characters (kasmeer and Marjory) and I feel annoyance towards how caring for one another Braham and Rox are (I know ones a girl, but still she is a Charr and he is a Norn! They should be bashing one another lol). The only character I actually like out of the new ones is Taimi (I actually like her MORE than her DE 1.0 counterpart…).

Indeedy. Especially if you’re a charr. How do you think a bucketload of charr in one room smells like? Not like roses im sure Give Kas a break haha

I’m not sure where you’re going with the Charr+Norn thing. It’s been well established that the two races get along very well.
A lil bit off topic but.
1)Yes, the Charr and Norn get along very well.
2)Please, Anet, don’t make Braham fall for Rox. I don’t think I could take the storyline seriously anymore.

I hope Rox is forced to kill Braham and eat him. Or just chooses to do it. Or I’ll do it. Whatever. The only good Braham is a dead Braham!
Just think..it could be worse: It could be a room full of wet charr warriors!
kalzana: I’m not your friend buddy!
Kasmeer: I’m not your buddy friend!
Braham: Uh-huh
I’m a Sylvari, whom Kasmeer has constantly belittled, and feel little to no kinship with her, and to a lesser extent Marjory.
If so, then you should definately stop meeting with them whenever you are invited, or doing stuff like attending their victory parties and drinking and joking with them.
Maybe deep inside you are bitter and you do despise them, by your actions seem to have made the biconics belive that you are actually a friend. So please stop taking advantage of their kindness.

My main is a barbaric-charr-necromancer, why would anyone think of him as a friend? Maybe my charming-sylvari-mesmer, everyone loves mesmers… but still he’s a charr, he likes hurting things and defiles the dead.
Well, she is definitely right about those “aromatic” warriors. My guardian was beside her when she said that, wearing the same heavy armor for over a year without removing it even once, and still as fresh smelling as a daisy. (It’s those guardian virtues and Signet of Resolve. They cleanse and block odors every 10 seconds too). ^^

I dispute the stinky warriors thing!
My female warrior got the new set of runes, one each of ‘Rune of Athlete’s Foot Resistance’, ‘Rune of Brazilian Wax’, ‘Rune of Minty Mouthwash’, ‘Rune of Moisturing Cream’, ‘Rune of Manicure’ and ‘Rune of Smiting Any Man Who Leaves The Toilet Seat Up’.
Highly recommended!

Is Braham’s “Uh-huh” a thing now?

Uh-huh
My Charr warrior went, “Hey!” when Kasmeer said that, but admits it’s probably true. XD

Its a bit sad to see that’s what he’s been reduced to. Basically a fool that grunts Uh-huh…
I can’t stand Kasmeer either, she is certainly not my friend either. She was fine back in the days when she was a little rich kid laughing off Faren’s advances – now she’s just annoying.
If D.E 2.0 were perceptive at all, they would most certainly NOT want to be friends with my charr warrior.
Nyoka is a horrible, terrible person who is only interested in her own gains, and who will hurt anybody to get what she wants. She worked with DE 2.0 and killed Scarlet because it would benefit her, not because she cared about others. After months of working together, DE 2.0 would have to catch on to some extent, and be like “Hey—we’ll work with you, but we aren’t comfortable with you”
Tell me about it! If that girl thinks that I would want to be friends with such an airheaded bookah then she has a thing or two coming.
Not to mention the rest of them. I’m worried that the norn’s level of obtuseness is reaching a point where his mere presence will create a black hole. His fleabag friend could be useful to the cause as live dragon bait but she’s too sentimental. The raven haired human should be preoccupied with sorting out her own issues before taking on any foe.
It’s unsettling that the sole intelligent member is but a child. The virtue of being an asura still elevates her above the rest of course but could these morons not find an adult of our species to help them? Bah! Useless lot.
Kasmeer fits her roll. Rather well, I think. She’s an air-headed noble still, for all her family’s lost their titles. She hasn’t adapted to everyone else not being ‘beneath’ her, and it’s reflected in her speech. She does as well with Jory as she does, simply because rose colored glasses are involved. Everyone else is still just that, ‘everyone else’ – non important. Just due to how she was raised. She should ‘grow out of it’ as her character progresses and she adapts to being a ‘commoner.’
As for Braham’s ‘uh huh’ convo with Tiami, this doesn’t have anything to do with his intellect. Anyone that has a much younger brother or sister, or even relative should understand this byplay well. The child just keeps rambling at you, to the point where you’re only listening with one ear, not really paying attention. The ‘uh huh’ is an absent way of indulging them (they don’t feel ignored and you aren’t bored senseless). Parents do it all the time, when their children start rambling on and they are doing something else (like making dinner).
Spouses do it too, but that tends to end badly for the non-attentive party. chuckle
That’s fine, you all can go on not being friends with Kas.
She and I will go on adventures and make our own sound effects and save the world and make pretend clothing and have a good time without you.
* child-like sticking-out-tongue action goes here *

LOL! I want to +1 this whole thread.
I’m your only friend; I’m not your only friend, but I’m a little glowing friend. But really I’m not actually your friend…but I am.
The last time I remember someone commented on a Charr’s “aroma” they had to peel themself off a wall.

It’s funny how differently people react to the game characters. I personally have enjoyed the new ones and listened to the Uh-huh speech more than once just for fun.
Kasmeer may not be your friend, but she’s my friend, and that’s all that matters to the Hero of Lion’s Arch who, when all seemed lost, selflessly ignored the plights of hundreds of poor Lion’s Archlings to rummage through debris piles and grab enough heirlooms to earn my Selfless Potion and thus forevermore memorialize my selflessness with a golden halo.

I love you XD
What I don’t understand is why the GW2 “team” seems so lame. Marjory is the only personality that seems “heroic”. I didn’t play GW1, but Destiny’s Edge seems very heroic – what happened?

Well it’s only their first real adventure. Give them some time to grow. Braham and Rox were great during F&F if you ask me.

Scarlet really had that “When will you die” thing going on too.

I am curious, how much time does it take to `grow´ a character? I am only asking because it has been well over a year now.

In-game time and real world time don’t really always match. However I think it’s more a matter of how much time we’ve been exposed to the characters, which is very little. Each Living World update only really had a few minutes of character exposure in a none ‘kill-that-thing’ sort of way.
Rox is the one person I would love to consider my friend. I liked her from the start. Others I still need warming up to. Taimi is close second though.

Thats the same for us, the men, we are anoyyed when the toilet seat is down all the time

During the The Dead End: Advanced Warning story instance Marjory said she and Kasmeer met 6 months ago. And as other dialogue in Secrets of Southsun suggests Kasmeer was working for Marjory then. And in Sky Pirates Kasmeer said she joined Delaqua Investigations a few months ago.
So at a guess I’d say the whole living story is probably spread across 3-4 months of game time.

So can GW1 players tell us: were Destiny’s Edge similarly “normal seeming” at the beginning? I find it hard to imagine any of them being as everyday as most of the GW2 group are.

They’re actually from the book bearing their name, not GW1 (they’d be a couple hundred years old). They started as just some ragtag adventurers that happened to come together and found they made a decent group but weren’t particularly heroic to start with.

I don’t like the bestiality angle between Braham (Norn), and Rox (Charr). I hope that will go in the next release. Perhaps you could just start fresh with a new group, considering that LS Season 1 was so bad. Or, better yet, bring back Destiny’s Edge, with a fitting person to replace Snaff.

Ok, but whether DE is from GW1 or not they are the example of a heroic group that we have before the current group really gets going. And I’m sorry but (given the choice) I would never have put my life in the hands of anyone in the current group except Marjory.
Yeah, I find it a bit weird that they’re referred to as friends; the amount of time we spend in their company is less than the time I spent listening to Ogden’s hammer-guy. And I’ve run LS on multiple alts, so sometimes they’re talking to a person they’ve never even met.
A lil bit off topic but.

The horror….
If Braham wears speedos I’m sure he’s going to have a wardrobe malfunction at one point. XD
The problem the OP brings up is of course related to the big problem when it comes to MMOs and their stories. As a videogame there are a massive amount of PCs. Story-wise though the game doesn’t always acknowledge this and keeps the fact beyond the 4th wall. The problem then arises when you give a million different people all the same dialogue spiel. It is practically impossible for such to apply to every person, and so it causes some disparity with some people that can break immersion.
I have a number of characters but my main is a sylvari thief that I consider a bit of a waylander. I feel she would get to know this new group and become at least mild friends, but would not consider herself part of their group. DE on the other hand, she is very good friends with and considers herself a (sort-of) member of the group. She missed them very much during this time. She was happy to see Caithe in the Aether path, but found her acting strangely distant like she was acting as if she didn’t know my character even though we had spent quite a bit of time together.

And contrary…the best of them is the youngest…in age and in live story age.
Imho, they just made them to stupid and to good at the same time. DE 1.0 is smarter Snaff/Zoija+Eir. DE 1.0 is stronger Caithe+Logan+Rytlock. DE1.0 is just more mature. DE2.0 feels like a bunch of teenagers. Only thing I see from them is kissing and flirting with each other. Emotions and stuff…not very helping in being heroic.
So. What do we have? True mature heroes on one side (DE1.0) and silly kids on another (DE2.0). Obviously, you wouldnt feel good, if your party consisted of 10 year old schoolgirls and an ape.
Also they lack sylvari. Sylvari is a master race and u can’t feel safe if u have no sylvari in party!!!!!
