I am not good at jumping, so no content for me.
Have you even tried going through the story line? They pretty much hold your hand through the whole thing :/ Kas even opens portals for you.
What’s so hard about it? You hardly need to use the jumping skills and when you do they are stupidly easy to pull off to complete the story. I can only think of one or two places where any semblance of timing is required and even then it doesn’t compare to the actual JP’s.
You don’t have to go through that bamboo. Turn to your left and jump up the canyon there. Then keep more towards the left and get to the next waypoint.
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
So, you can’t do the story missions because you didn’t look to see if there were any puzzles in them to begin with? Do you see the sense in that?
I’m also absolutely terrible at jumping puzzles due to an old injury in my right wrist, but I managed to get through everything so far (exception of the optional jumping puzzle haven’t done those yet).
I guess you can either try harder and get better or just give up.
Even if you can’t do the jumping puzzles, you can still complete the entire story. You are not gated out of content simply because you can’t jump.
Combat is more demanding than jumping, if anything you need the reflexes of a fly for the combat not to mention fast decision making.
There are crystals everywhere, so although they are on a timer that only matters on the final stretch to get to the goggles to jump down for the water, like wise the most demanding jumpings are to get on optional areas.
As everything just practice, took me 2 hours to get the vista on EB green gari the first time, now I can do it in a minute.
I don’t mean to be rude but it looks like you’re complaining for the sake of complaining.
You failed at succeeding content on the first day, and you give up already?
“I suck at something so instead of practicing and getting better, I’m going to give up fully on content on day one, content that is also available forever and involves little to any thought process on the actual jumping puzzle element.”
Looked at the OP’s past messages, all he does is complain.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
So, you can move around in any direction, hit the correct keys to execute your characters skill, and dodge…but jumping is too difficult; hitting spacebar once has broken the game for you…
Yup…
re: So, you can’t do the story missions because you didn’t look to see if there were any puzzles in them to begin with? Do you see the sense in that? – Why should someone expect jumping puzzles to be required in mainstream content of a high fantasy MMO,(Based on a game which had no jumping.) Do you see the sense in that?
I’d also like to point out that I’m horrible at jumping, but did make it through to the waypoint and town. It wasn’t fun, but if I can do it a lot of people can.(My apologies to people with ailments and disabilities – this is not the game we thought it was.) It certainly wasn’t fun, but I’ve made it that far. In another thread Fay was kind enough to give some very helpful tips for using the Zephyrite jumping skills: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/s2/Why-is-LS-S2-only-for-people-who-can-jump/4163987
So I encourage people who find jumping difficult to please try it again. It isn’t fun, but you may make it through. Hopefully there will be less of this platformer type jumping required going forward.
Once again, I’d like to say that I don’t want elements that people enjoy taken completely out of the game. But in a game advertized as a high fantasy MMO, I would like jumping platform game elements to remain optional for mainstream content.(like Living Story)
re: Combat is more demanding than jumping – That is highly subjective. For some of us, it’s the other way ’round. It would be much better for us if the jumping/Zephyrite Aspect content was optional rather than required.
