Why I think Lion’s Arch will take over a year to rebuild it?
Because, at the first Halloween Event the Lion Statue got destroyed.

Right after the event you could see it getting rebuilded.
The building progress lasted ~3 months or more, and that was only 1 statue

Now Lion’s Arch is destroyed it will take longer than a year till it’s finished.

Guess we stick around Vigil Keep for a looooong time.

P.S. If we succeed in re-taking LA then this might take place.

Most things during Halloween or Wintersday are instanced. It doesn’t matter where the entrances for the instances are. Decorations can be put in any major city. There is a chance that LA will never become a hub again.

Would be kind of neat if they would come up with stuff we could do to help with rebuilding and base it on player participation – the more who work on stuff the faster the area gets cleaned up. It could be a variety of thing including stuff for the daily and could encompass a variety of things from going to another area to collect stuff to rebuild and bringing it to an npc to going around and encouraging a certain number of rebuilders, tackling looters, getting enough folk to work on a certain area to show an improvement, etc.

Oh no, tower of nightmares effect all over again… lots of progress the first week, none thereafter.

Maybe they’ll turn LA into a big sandbox where we can build and rebuild houses and structures using our Bloodstone Bricks.

I think it`s a bad news for server in china, even chieses players can`t see such beatiful city ever(if it wont rebuild after all).

The sever in china will be up online at MAY 1, all they can see are ruins of Lion`s Arch.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again- what happens when Mad King Thorn shows up in LA to command the respect and worship of it’s inhabitants, and he so loves to do, and the city is destroyed and no one is there? He’s going to be one cheesed off ghost!

Puppis, have no worries. The Chinese will be needed to help us rebuild LA to its former glory. And your “compensation” that you asked for in another post will be the standard Top Tier Reward Anet is so famous for: two blues and a green.

We can rebuild it. Lion’s Arch has the money. We can make it better. More structurally stable. Easier to navigate.

Really though for what LA started as, it needed to be updated anyway.

We could move back in a half build lions arch. So we can take time to rebuild it. Hopefully it would be more brick iron and less wood. It would be nice to rebuild it slowly and in parts. A great thing would be to start whit a crafting area inside a building.

In a way, I almost wish they wouldn’t rebuild at all.

Turn it into a memorial of the way things used to be, and the people who died. Put up plaques and lists of the dead, and lists of the heros. And, at the center, where the lion statue used to be, a monolith with a picture of the statue on it.

Then, build a new hub somewhere. Call it New LA or something, but make it so that it doesn’t look like all the flotsam in the world piled up in one place. Make it real, with real buildings and parks, and markets. Build a great wall around it for protection from the ground, and use some of that “found” technology to build lasers for protection from the sky. Give it a real government, and a council chamber, and offices for the 3 Orders.

In other words, scrap the old LA and make a new one that actually looks like a city on the scale of DR or Rata Sum.

I’d like to see LA rebuilt in the image of the Guild Wars LA/Old LA. I loved the shape and feel of it. The look of it. LA in guild wars 2 felt cluttered dirty a real mess. I didn’t like going there. Now it’s a smouldering mess I could not be happier as a player. Story wise it was powerful, and I enjoyed the whole LA battle. Now the rebuild should not put it back as it was, as the city was built from the wrecks of the ships washed up there. So now the only opinion is stone and mettle. Yes some wood, but not to the level of what it was. Maybe then. LA will be a better place to go.

Definitely had the money, tried looting the bank afterwards… guard wouldn’t let me close to the big pile of money.

Who knows. Maybe they’ll think of some fitting and compelling story as to why the events that normally took place in LA have been relocated. Even then, I don’t see why the Mad King can’t invade a ruined LA. I guess the nonexistent citizens of LA won’t be decorating for the holidays, but they can always decorate something else.

Also, now that there’s a ruined city and an even more displaced population, they can do even more charity for in the upcoming Wintersday!

What if (just thinking out loud here) guild can rebuild Lions Archs. It will be a great way to add guild housing in the game.

Imagine visiting grotesque guild halls and an ever evolving Lion’s arch. Like this LA becomes a truly guild founded hub.

As I just posted in a similar thread

I originally posted this last month for an April 1st release but I would be happy if they do something like this very soon with the Guild changes they talked about.

With all the new technology developed by the different races the rebuild shouldn’t take TOO long. I’d say a year most. It should turn out pretty sweet.

a·chieve·ment – a thing done successfully, typically by effort, courage, or skill
re·ward – a thing given in recognition of one’s service, effort, or achievement
en·ti·tle·ment – the belief one is inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment

And what if Zhaitan’s Undead Minions reach the north from the sea and seize LA permanently?
If LA will be rebuild as it was early, the whole “Living World” concept is… gone.
I would more happy with a new main city somewhere else: Penguin’s Arch!

They have to rebuild it and starting very soon. Most old cities across the real world have been built and rebuilt dozens of times on top of the old. Nothing says Dead World more than LA continuing to sit in ruins.
