I’m so totally bummed out that I tried to do the On Swift Wings like 4 times before checking the forums to find out it’s bugged and they’re not going to fix it until they release even more content.

fully agree, for all those people who have wasted a significant amount of time trying to get an achievement which has been unobtainable since it was patched I would have thought it would have been nice for it to fixed before all the new content comes out.

I was planning on buying some gems with real cash but this whole saga with “on swift wings” has made me change my mind, which is a shame because I have always done this as a way of supporting the developers

Buying gems = support for ANet.
Buggy content and contempt towards the players = no support = no gems with cash.

I decided to stop all gem purchasing for myself as well due especially to their bad customer support, who apparently can’t fis a simple issue because they can’t fix it. Great logic.

The achievement is permanent.
The next update comes in less than a week.
That is way faster than most other companies when it comes to bug-fixes.

The statement about the gems was just an indication of how I am feeling at the moment about it, that’s all. I haver resigned myself to waiting now until next week when the new content comes out before redoing this. I know its permanent and when they notified us that the fix had been found it was just over a week. I just think it would have been a nice gesture to those players who have wasted a lot of in game time on this that it could be patched as easily as the patch released by anet very quickly which broke the achievement in the first place. ( I know it was not working as intended before then anyway), but still.

Also I feel for all those players who maybe don’t check forums at all who will waste their time on trying to get this achievement in the next week before the new content comes out.

I have to admit, functionally prohibitive bugs like this should really be a priority fix. Especially when you consider how much critical discussion is revolving around the achievements in general (though I feel this is undeserved and they have been doing a good job). I’m glad I stumbled upon this thread, as I was unaware of the bug before and probably would have wasted a lot of time tonight trying to get the achievement.

I went to the beginning of Gates of Maguuma where the first instance was and there’s nothing there. I read everything I could find on the net about it and it said to look for purple circles on the map. I don’t see any. I’ve stood around and waited at the spots where the instance green stars used to be and nothing happens. I am so frustrated, I’ve been spending hours asking people what’s up in game, but no one ever answers me. So I’m trying here, maybe someone can give me a detailed answer as to what is happening here.
