Could be an oasis area (haven’t watched trailer yet, so not sure of the area you’re talking about).
But we do have proof already that the vines spread out
Just thought I’d let you all know I found this in Skrittsburgh in Brisban, Tunnels Waypoint a few minutes ago. I think the vines have started spreading out of Dry Top
EDIT: Just found the Ulta Metamagicals WP is flickering the same way as the one in Prosperity

I know it’s been 250 years, but the original Dry Top in GW had two levels: the top level was desert-y, while it had a ravine that was green and lush (hence the name).

That was my first reaction after “Wait…what?”. I guess the effects of Mordremoth coming up from below shall be felt far afield?
I love the sound of the Centaur warhorn at the start, I can imagine hearing that and having to leap to the side in a Maguuma canyon while centaur trample through – could bring another interesting element to map exploration. I’m sure that was just cinematic though.
That is most definitely the pact camp looking from the west. Good to see that the effects of Mordremoth are spreading out…but that far? All the way in Timberlines across the sea?
Doesn’t make any sense. It would be better if the vines stretched into Rata Sum or anywhere along the Tarnished Coast…
Looks like we will be getting at least one new zone, and also some content in Timberline Falls. I’m excited to go back to timberline, that was one of my favorite zones at release.
Also something to do with giants. That should be interesting since giants used to be a major presence in tyria but died out. Maybe we will learn more about them.

It actually makes sense if you consider that Scarlet’s mind was Morde’s mind. She obviously knew about the pact and the death of Zhaitan, and as such so does Morde. It makes sense for him to directly attack their bases before they can confirm he exists by keeping his vines traveling below the ground.

I think his presence has just been hidden. It looks like he is attacking the pact, which means taking out Timberline, Orr, and various other locations far away from his home turf. There is a thread that has been following his spread of corruption throughout the week. The vines are disrupting the waypoints throughout tyria. It started in Dry top on patch day, but it has spread further as the week went on. Multiple waypoints are malfunctioning now.

Mmm good idea, though it sort of dampens the lore realistically. I mean, what’s stopping Mordremoth from summoning vines to kill Jennah or Ellen Kiel (#teamevon!)
That might actually be rather interesting, and might suggest that it knows exactly what Scarlet did, and as such uses her knowledge of (mobile) waypoints in order to find and disable them.
Or simply follow them to the enemies bases.

What would be cool is if Mordremoth took control of an entire map and closed it off for 2 weeks (sorry map completionists!). All WP’s disabled, and all portals blocked off by thick vines
After we finally burn down those vines we come up with Timberline falls full of green and thorns and no more snow.
And at the center we see what Mordremoth was doing all along…empowering one of his champions.
And that’s how a metaevent is born.

True, it’s possible he just doesn’t see them as a threat. I mean let’s be honest, Lion’s Arch and the Krytan royalty did jack all for the Zhaitan offensive.
Also, in truth, Morde wouldn’t be the first who could pull that off. Prim could have done it decades ago.

Part of me loves that idea, the other would cry at the loss of such a beautiful map.

Yeah, just watched it. Definitely at least one new area (where ever that giant cube structure is (that was diagrammed in Scarlets room) and possibly that jungle area) and something happening at the Pact base in Timberline.

Yeah definitely looks like the Concordia base.
I know we’re still processing the information, but I’m a mite surprised that no one’s remarked on the centaur at the beginning of the clip.

Okay we can take a dreadful map that everyone hates…Snowden Drifts or Mount Maelstrom

That’s probably because all the crazy map people found the centaur camp outside of the dry top map last week, so we already knew there would be centaurs coming.
It will be interesting to see how they play into the story though.
It may be a coincidence but but the camp has a waypoint nearby (meaning right next to it) and on 0:22 you don’t see any other vines in the entire area. So maybe Mordremoth sended vines through the waypoint which makes distance irrelevant.
New trailer is full of surprises and amazing. Thumbs up. U officially hyped me.

Maguuma is a mix of deserts and jungles very close to each other.
A centaur did “raise” the pale tree. Ventari’s Refuge (Ettins back, similar to Giants) is likely to be either the next area or the one after.
I am liking this trailer and feel that we are finally getting some energy for the plot – which is good news.

…….I like those maps 3;
I vote Dredgehaunt.
DE version 2 seems to have found an entrance to the ley line chamber Scarlet was investigating. That is the part from 0:13 to 0:22. You can see the same aurora around the bottom part of the Breachmaker in Lion’s Arch. I have no clue, however, what the pyramid at the end is (some kind of reactor maybe?).

Probably something to do the the eternal alchemy/Inquest lab.
hyped ! :-)

Yeah, and the Priory camp waypoint near the ruined hedge also flickers. The tunnels waypoint vine does poke it in the same way.
And also yes. That is DEFINITELY the concordia camp in Timberline falls.

True, but pause the video and note the mountains in the background. That’s Timberline, without a doubt, and as soon as possible I’m gonna head out there and start looking around for clues. Lovin’ this!
I know we’re still processing the information, but I’m a mite surprised that no one’s remarked on the centaur at the beginning of the clip.
I figured they were the bandits of whom the Town of Prosperity gets its supplies from. Everybody seems really hush hush about how they survive there around the us, strangers, when we ask questions.
Quote for the Asuran at 0:36-
`Big… little… I’m the one with the gun`
It looks like the waypoint in the video is broken and laying on the ground.

Nooo .. i love Dredgehaunt .. and Timberline
Vote for Mount Maelstrom .. or Fireheart Rise
At about 0:18, that an incomplete tendril at the top or just some kind of conduit? Cause it definitely runs in a (possibly straight) line.

Anyways, is the person thats being hung in the trailer at Prosperity one of Prosperity’s citizens? (Looks like a blonde character with ragged pants)

Lornars is ok .. not a zone i’m very often. Dredgehaunt is however so nice for farming Iron and Timberline for platinum

The foreman of the mine is the only blonde male in the town I recall.
Definitely one of the more morbid videos…with the guy being strangled and all at the end…by the vine.
If the Pact is coming back, does this mean we’ll see Trahearne again?
+1 for the giant smashing the Little asura.
I’d honestly be very surprised if the Pact WASN’T involved in either this next update or ones following it.

As long as we see him strangled from the end of a vine, then go for it!

oh no! please don’t “Kessex” Timberline Falls, Anet! Mess up Frostgorge or something else equally lame and boring.
Also yay! Centaurs!
Also boo! more effing vines!
If the Pact is coming back, does this mean we’ll see Trahearne again?
Yeah, he shows up after you defeat Mordremoth to tell the Pact how he killed the dragon.

This please (minus the second part). When will Kessex and LA go back to normal?

Dodge FTW

My guess is that this is a ley line, especially with all the rocks floating around it and as said above, there are the same auroras in the video that are around the bottom part of the Breachmaker in Lion’s Arch.

Shhhhh, don’t give them that idea.
