The spinning room

Honestly, it’s nigh on impossible to account for all the things that might cause an issue for a tiny subset of the community. Everyone uses different hardware, different graphics settings, and each of us has different tolerances.
Where would you recommend that ANet draw the line?

I’m not a medical expert, so I can’t actually make said decision. All I can say that is I think it could have caused trouble for other people since I noted it stood out. It wasn’t “normal” so to speak as per the game. The only other cases I remember being disoriented is before I learned to set free camera, some adventures, and the occasional JP where the camera goes crazy.
There’s no need to draw any lines pr cripple the game anyways, as these things are already in place. For example, if you turn off postprocessing you can turn off drunk effects.
Of course, the only metric we could get is by people complaining. After it happens. But I guess it could form some kind of pattern. All I am advising is some caution on the matter.

Funny, I read about the spinning room before ever entering it. I have to say, I never even noticed it spinning; I guess I was focused on the combat, as I heard it was so difficult. Again, that didn’t seem especially trying, either. /shrug
(I’m not a very good player, either.)
Thus, different things affect players in…well…different ways. There is, of course, a statement/disclaimer/notice in the ToS that we agree to, that we acknowledge (there may be content that causes discomfort and that) ArenaNet/NCSoft is not liable for any disorientation/illness/discomfort/etc. from any game content. So, forewarned is forearmed, I guess.

that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

The round room in the basement with the faces in the wall.
Yea, they ask you questions and then it starts spinning.
It reminded me of those old amusement park rides; I mean it was a nice effect.

I thought the way the faces were shadowed so they always seemed to be looking at the player was an excellent effect. Looked like plaster molded depressions to me. Didn’t get that fish eye feeling.
But that one in LS2 where you have to fight that tendril dragon thing that was warped.

I also loved the dialogue in that room about the faces; great character work there.
