That champion bandit in the silverwastes? She asks for 2 gold in order to get “free passage”…

The problem is she ACTUALLY does take 2G from your purse. I was an idiot and thought it was for flavour, and I wanted to see all the dialogue options. I didn’t even know she really did take 2 Gold!

Anyway, can you PLEASE give a warning next time something ridiculous like this is implemented? I’ve never experienced this before in the game. A poor lad like me, 4G means a lot.

I would guess you never gave money to the drunken quaggan in Dry Top or donated to Ho-Ho-Tron? If a specific money amount is listed as an option, you will be spending that money.

I’m sorry you lost some coin but putting up yet another dialogue are-you-sure box to click when trying to quickly do something would be much more intrusive to most players.

There was a warning, she says she is going to take the gold and you have to confirm it!

I consider the OP to be an honest person, as I decided to send 4 gold to help out and said in the message I hoped they would return anything they got beyond 4 gold from people (whether to me or to others). Moments later, the gold was returned! So OP must have been made whole

At least you got an achievement out of Ho-Ho Tron. The quaggan was a pure troll move on someone’s part (saw it in a POI episode).

Also, I never paid the gold. I ran in to get the badge and ran back out. A second time I went in and died. Never went in there again.

I think it’s a language barrier issue. You see, in the American language, the term free can mean both “without cost” and “without barriers”. In this case, your free entry meant the freedom to roam the area without getting attacked.

I like the part where you thought you could trust an NPC specifically labeled Bandit. They didn’t even technically rob you, since you gave them the money on your own volition.

Never trust a bandit.

What’s wrong with people? Of course he should take your gold if you willingly want to give it to him. Read the texts for Tyria’s sake.

No one is mentioning this, you do know that you can kill the bandit champion and loot the body for a key that opens a daily chest, don’t you?
