Guild Wars 2: The Smoking Depths

  • Story: Occupy the Depths of Tyria. Build and lead an army to retake the Depths from the talons of Primordus. Each Living Story release includes not only changes to the world, but also a new permanently-available Personal Story step. The first of these takes place after Forging the Pact, forming a new branch of the story.
    • The Hero’s Journal item is introduced, available on the gem store and as a rare in-game reward. Using a Hero’s Journal allows a character to fast-forward through an entire arc of their personal story, letting you choose which decisions you would have made without having to play through them.
  • Mechanic: Lead the Pact. Introduce the Destiny’s New Edge crew to your original krewe, (or warband, cycle, etc.), turning allies from throughout your personal story into lieutenants. Issue daily orders, sending them to lead platoons on the front lines, defend supply chains, build outposts, explore ruins, or research found artifacts.
  • Exploration: Go Anywhere. The Depths of Tyria run everywhere. You never where they’ll take you! The Depths themselves are made of a few hubs connected by randomly generated cave maps. Apertures open to every corner of the globe.
    • The orders each player issues to their lieutenants are pulled together into a game-wide pseudo-democracy. This effects which aperture will be discovered next, (will the players seek out a tunnel to Yahnur Market, or a portal to Shing Jea?). The way hub outposts are built, maintained, and defended will also be up to players, as well as the order in which new equipment and abilities are discovered.
  • Halfway through, players will discover the Central Transfer Chamber. While the portals are mostly beyond repair, the location is of great value in the fight against the destroyers. Overtaking it will be difficult, and the process of slowly rebuilding it into a full new city will be in the hands of the players. Once the CTC is fully operational, it will be the launching point for the main assault against Primordus himself.
I should be writing.

Guild Wars 2: The Canthan Resurgence
- New personal story to lead characters into Cantha again, and the surfacing of DSD. Actually, seeing Shiro return so many times before, he’s a beloved arch enemy, so why not have his legacy appear in some form…
- FP1’s system of trait unlocks developed further to open up for skill/trait unlocks to a wide array of such for all classes across the new region
- Wardens of Arborstone become a playable race. Humanoid and previously hell-bent on protecting the forest while under Shiro’s influence, these are now more civilised now that 250 years passed and Shiro’s shadow has restored their senses.
- Opens the continent of Cantha – Kaineng and surrounding lands with an unstable Luxon-Kurzick alliance that needs hero to keep from breaking
- Challenge missions added for solo and groups to do time trials on a weekly, ranked ladder. Winner each week granted some substantial reward plus some in-game recognition on a hall of fame plaque or such…

Allright. Here is my jab at an expansion I’d personally like to see. Part 1

War of the Branded

An elder Dragon has awoken. Scarlet Briars disturbance of the Leylines stirred an ancient beast from its slumber. The races of Tyria are still licking their wounds from their battle against the renegade Sylvari – and Trahearne and the Pact is gathering Allies and Intel once Again to face of against the presumed threat of an Elder Dragon. However this time a single frontline might not be the case. When the sole survivor of an Order of Whispers scouting party reports that the branded are amassing in the Crystal Desert the pact hires the band of heroes who stopped Scarlet to investigate. But the branded are not the only concern. In Divinity’s Reach a Group calling themselves “The Gaze of Lyssa” is gaining popularity among the nobles, and the Ebonhawke scouts reports of hooded figures in Elonian armor. Soon the heroes of Tyria will learn that allies can be found among even the most unlikely of beings.

Features:

  • New regions:* Northern Crystal Desert (3 Zones), Dzalana Wastelands (4 Zones – including Scarred startingzone and capital) and The Verdant Forest (2 Zones)
  • New Race: Scarred* – Human-race with traces of Elder Dragon corruption.

    - In the Dzalana Wastelands the Scarred roam the rocky and sandy terrain in hunt of any who would hunt them in return. The Scarred are the descendants of the followers and armies of the legendary Turai Ossa who fought the Undead Lord Palawa Joko years ago . From their major base of operations, Drohkeep, built into a series of caves in Dzalana, they fight the Branded minions of Kralkatorrik and Palawa Jokos undead alike. Caring Little for the calculations and fears of the other races – the Scarred saw oppertunity and power in the Elder Dragons. Power they could use to fight their hated undead enemy. Even though the human god Kormir was once their countryman, The Scarred feel neglected and abandonded by the gods and have taken the otherworldly powers of the Elder Dragons for themselves – abandoning a part of their humanity. Through ritualistic rites called simply Qasam when coming of age, the Scarred humans have learned to imbue themselves with draconic powers, giving them otherworldly traits such as resistance to the undead, and crystallized limbs. With the awakening of a new Elder Dragon – the former inhabitants of Elona – now The Scarred – see just another source of power to use as a tool in their vengeance.

Personal Story Elements;

Like all of my people – I go through The Qasam. Like my brothers and sisters I endured the touch of the dragons. I endured them all, but my body bears the mark of……
- Zhaitan
- Kralkatorrik
- Primordus

My people fight to survive. We are compassionate to family, kind to friends and deadly to our enemies. I know vengeance. I know hate. My enemies will feel both, but of all my enemies those I hate the most are….

- The Undead
- The Betrayers
- The Gods

To be continued…

Far Shiverpeaks – EU – Ragnarok of Primordus

Part 2!

New Profession: Slayer

- _The Slayer is a Soldier profession who combines draconic magic and the old combat style of the elonian Dervishes and Paragons. While once used exclusively by the Scarred, the art of slaying has spread to the other races of Tyria as each race harbor the ability to hate and seek out vengeance upon their enemies who once wronged them.

- Special Ability; Hatred: Humanoid Slaying, Beast Slaying, Undead Slaying, Abomination Slaying
Activating each subsequent Hatred will give the Slayer various bonusses toward each creaturetype.

Weapons:

- MH: Sword, Axe, Javelin
- OH: Sword, Axe, Torch
- Two-Hand: Greatsword, Scythe, Staff
- UW: Spear, Trident

Traits:

- Hatred
- Dragon Magic
- Vengeance
- Determination
- Strategy
- Slaying

Personal Story Elements

I control the power of dragons and a keen strategic mind. Each kill adds to my glory, but one enemy will stay with me forever. I still carry a trophy from the meeting. My trophy is (headpiece)…

-The Mantle of an undead Priest
-The Skull of a mighty beast (depends on Race-choice)
-A Crystal from a branded
-A husk of a Troll Destroyer

New Weapons

- Scythe – 2h high AoE focus – Warrior, Slayer, Necromancer, Ranger
- Javelin (MH only)- Thrown theme. Conditions – Warrior, Slayer, Elementalist, Engineer
- Chakram (OH only) – Boons. Ranged. Shields. – Guardian, Thief, Mesmer

New PvP Mode: Death Match

- Engage in 1v1 ranked gameplay, where you fight to the death. In Gladiatorial arenas in the mists.

New WvW Map: Memory of Istan

- While very few besides the Order of Whispers know how it looks in Tyria, a memory of Istan has appeared in the mists. As it once stood in all its glory, Kamadan, Jewel of Istan lies uninhabited on the island. A memory of a place of great commerce this location is highly sought.

Expanded Personal Story: All up to level 100

- Ally yourself with Destiny’s Edge, the Pact and friends old and new to safeguard Tyria from threats from the west and the south – and within Queen Jenna’s court. Unravel the mysteries of the Elder Dragons as an amassing army of Branded brings unexpected allies to the war for Tyrias survival. A war that might shake the very foundation of the races of Tyria.

New Jumping Puzzles

3 New Dungeons

-Citadel of Dzagon
-Tomb of the Primeval Kings
-Lyssa’s Maze

Far Shiverpeaks – EU – Ragnarok of Primordus

So, you have to come up with a concept for a GW2 expansion, purely for funnies.

You have to give details in bullet points, keep them short and concise, e.g.

Guild Wars 2 Expansion Name Here

- Feature Included
- Level Cap/Skill Additions
- New Race
- New Region
- New PvP/PvE additions/game types.
- Anything else you can think of.

My Idea:

Guild Wars 2: Awakening

- Continue where the Living Story ended, and face Mordremoth in the new Maguma Wastes and Magus Falls regions.
- Level Cap increased to 100.
- New alternative progression system: Skill Unlocks.
- New Dungeon, Bloodstone Fen.
- Introducing Raid Zones for large scale PVE.
- New WvW feature, Siege Towers.
- New PvP battlegrounds and game type: Gauntlet.
- No new races.
- No new classes.

Guild Wars 2 Legends Of Old (GW2LOO for short):

- Fissure of Woe, implement Eye Of Janthir into story somehow, Underworld(end game dungeon that requires you to have 80 AR), Domain of Anguish, Realm of torment
- level cap stays the same, you get new skills and traits and abilities
- 4 new races kodan, tengu, dwarves and centaur as playables
- crystal desert, maguuma jungle cantha, elona
- 3 new classes – Dervish, Ritualist and Spearchuckler
- beetle races come back
-lunar festival come back
-more minis, more armor, more everything

Are you Shpongled?

Name – GW2: Four Winds (Honestly no idea)

Feature List SP -
Cross Classing – Cross class into other roles and classes to develop your own unique gameplay style. (Upto 3 classes at any one time, each level is counted towards the cap. for example Warrior Guardian could have 40 levels each for a total level of 80).
New Race – Tengu
New Zones – 4 New starter areas for Tengu, plus Homecity + 4 Additional areas for continuation of the story in Magnuum Jungle Area.
- Tengu T1 Story + 16 New Storyline Quests
- Additional Legendaries
- New Class: Wind Walker, ranged based class that utilises elemental based bow attacks. Doesn’t have a pet.
- 6 New World Bosses (Including 1 Dragon)
- 4 New Dungeons
- 2 New Guild Missions
- Guild Houses
- Guild vs Guild: A CTF style gametype where each team are members of the same guild of up to 50 players per side. Each team must retrieve the opposing guilds flag and return it to their base 3 times for victory, this carries with it a unique reward line that all members of your guild will recieve. Each map is basically the same but uses the ‘guild’ house as the bases, which can be upgrades to have traps and other devices to hinder your oppenents progress. Each round lasts upto 30 minutes and players can freely drop in and out but must contribute significantly or remain in the game for 10 minutes for credit.

WvW Updates:
- Supply Lines no longer have set destinations, all camp yaks will attempt to travel to the closest owned tower, keep, or castle.
- Additional Upgrades to Towers, Keep, and Castle.
Towers/Keep/Castle: Scouts, hire a group of guards that patrol outside the walls or the nearby roads. Any nearby hostile forces are marked on the map while they are alive. (Guard Treeline)
- Towers/Keep/Castle: Blacksmith, hire a local blacksmith who will oversee the production of arms, and repair damaged structures within the fortification. Additionally Guards recieve a 5% Damage and Defense buff due to the armour and weapons he provides.
- Keep/Castle: Asura Gate, a direct upgrade from the Waypoint the Asura gate provides a safer means of transport and cannot be contested. However, it may only transport 5 people every 45 seconds. This cooldown is decreased by the Tower Upgrade.
Tower Only: Field Generator, provides a reduced cooldown on the Asuragate upgrade, each tower surrounding the Keep will reduce the cooldown by 5/10/15/20. In the case of SMC this applies to all towers across the map upto the 20 Limit.
Keep/Castle: Force Wall, the walls are coated in a magical energy from the nearby surroundings this manifests itself as a ‘shield’ that can be activated at any time from the Lords/Champions room. The shield blocks all incoming projectiles and blocks incoming catapult and treb fire (10, 5 respectively) with a cooldown of 5 minutes. Additionally defenders on the walls gain a defensive buff that reduces incoming ranged damage by 2%.

- Expansion on the Current WvW skillsets.
- Varible Objectives that provide benefits/buffs to attackers (to help counter act the buffs defenders recieve).

Character Development and Weapons:
- Level Cap remains the same.
- Legendary Weapons recieve a minor buff to compensate for Ascended.
- Each Legendardy Weapon is given a unique skill/ability associated with it.
- New Armour skins for the Gemstore, Dungeons, and World Bosses.
- Upon installation the game will provide present players the opportunity to take advantage of the new cross classing system. This can also be reset for 5 Gold via ingame NPC.
- Each class will recieve 1 new trait line including 2 new GM traits obtainable in the new zones.
- More Achievements and Rewards

Generic Update (for everyone):
Options:
- UI support is updated enabling players to customise both it’s apperance and functionality. (Basically you can have it at the left side of your monitor if you wished).
- Improved Engine.
- Fixed Noclip glitch in WvW and PvE
- Updated Netcode
- AI improvements
— AI will no longer simply attack the closest target, and groups of NPC’s will focus down high value targets. Such as the highest dps.
— AI will use skills more intelligently, it will attempt to interupt when possible.
— WvW Caravan guards will switch focus from those attacking themselves to those attacking the Yak.

Guild Wars 2: Into the North

- New Region: Explore north past Frostgorge Sound into territory soundly claimed by Jormag in an attempt to gather more current information for the Pact. Join intrepid exploring teams dispatched to the Far Shiverpeaks to blaze a trail seeking something which could help fight the dragon of ice and storms.

- New PvP: “The Mistborn Arenas”. A new place in the Mists has become visualized, where groups fight for the entertainment of observers. Each arena is one group against another, with some quirks and tricks to the arenas, as well as slightly different goals. Some arenas, the goal is to ensure all the opponent’s team is dead at the same time. Some other arenas, it’s to control a central point uncontested for a certain amount of time.

- New Feature: Wandering Merchants. A few brave souls wander Tyria peddling wares from one race to people from another, telling tales of wonders and terrors out in the world to entertain their audiences. But they also bring with them unusual goods, which are for sale to those who can pay. Wandering Merchant events can be found throughout Tyria in the zones, and for rescuing them they will turn up the next day in your Home Instance. You may only have one of each races’ Wandering Merchants at a time, and they will leave after that day is over. They will sell interesting new looks to add to your Wardrobe, or tasty exotic food and drink from their homelands.

- New Titles: Pact Trailblazer. For exploring the frozen north and setting up base camps, you will be able to boast of these accomplishments to other adventurers. Each area has a base camp to establish over a chain of Dynamic Events, and then keep secure long enough to become mostly safe. Doing this will earn you the right to wear the Trailblazer title for that area. If you succeed in gaining all the titles, you may be recognized as a Master Trailblazer. (Note: Titles not guaranteed to impress NPCs, Mist Warriors from other servers, or asura.)

- New World Bosses: Trespassing into Jormag’s frozen realm is fraught with danger, and some dangers are not the type to take lightly. The Voice of Jormag is but one terror which can strike any of the base camps which have been established, in an attempt to break the Pact’s spirit.
And other, older things still stir in dark places and have no connection to Jormag. Beware the vaettir who haunt lost steadings Jormag or his followers have no interest in. Or perhaps one should worry about old tales of ice wurms greater than Issormir which hunted the snowy cliffs, able to give norn pause before tackling them.

We won’t go north till a norn cuts the tooth. And i bet Eir will used the reforge flaming sword to do just that

Obviously would liketo go to Cantha again. But failing that
GW2 : Dragons of the Crystal sands.
Open up The ruins of Deldrimore city under threat from minions of Kralkatoric.
Add new storyline starting in Deldrimore and moving soth into the crystal desert.
new dungeons, Deldrimore catacoumbs (dwarf ghosts+ looters)
Glint’s lair (branded minions)
Dwarven weapons/armour skins.
Glint’s Crystaline weapons/armour.
Playable Tengu, Dominion of winds as a new player city.
New desert wildlife, new ranger pets (desert lizard, camel spider, sand drake, desert falcon, Elonian hound, Ibex)
Elonan refugees fleeing Palawa Joko’s return.
Possible appearance from one or more of Glint’s children, questionable motives, they want to stop Kralkatoric, but can the pact trust any dragon?
