Wintersday daily doesn't count for meta?
Don’t know but since it doesn’t Anet is forcing us to play that horrible choir game…Iam not good at it
Yeah, there’s only 11 events that count. So you have to grind the stupid choir game to finish the meta! Is this intended?

Not a bug, they listed the events that count in the meta so there’s no mistake here.
It’s more surprising the dailies are even there, since those are the “old style” dailies (1ap per daily, no other rewards). I guess the group that did the wintersday event didn’t talk to people that nerfed daily system.

The Bells of Wintersday don’t count toward the meta. I already did it once. Based on this I would guess that Snowball Mayhem Participant, Toypocalypse Survivor and the JP Mastery don’t count either.
We’ll have to grind out all the rest of them. Oh joy! Grinding! My fav….
This really sucks. Adding in the dailies that counted toward meta achievements was one of the best changes they made to the Living Story. It meant you could work around achievements you were bad at or didn’t like and still get the meta done. What on earth is the rationale for changing this?
It looks like you have to do every single non-infinite achievement to get the meta now. That’s just obnoxious.
this stinks. if the dailies dont count for the meta i dont understand why im even playing this game anymore same thing happened for the halloween event for me didnt get that meta either. seems like they try to make this game my second job. just to let them, know they keep this stuff up ill find something else to do for that hour or two a week i spend in this game
lol. quitting the game over dailies ? ok, it is the end of the world.
Archeage = Farmville with PK
I really hope Anet will change this, giving us daily succes or a hidden succes (Warming the Grawl ?) to avoid the choir. 500 correct is too much for me ;(
I finished the meta this Am. Bells were the worst part, any kind of lag makes that minigame really tough.
Repeatable Bell achieve requires 210 completions, so at least I got some progress in.
I don’t believe the infinite achievements count towards the meta but all of the others are fairly easy to do.
While I found the meta easy enough to complete (did it all in a day), I do agree that they should have made the Wintersday dailies count towards the meta. It was a system that worked well; why change it now?
I’m not even sure why you’re complaining at the first or second day of the patch.
Wintersday will last for a whole month!
Lets look at the necessary achievements:
1) Spend 3 silver on ho ho tron -> no problem there
2) Spend 3 gold -> you should be able to get three gold, shouldn’t you?
3) Escort the dolyak -> a thing of 5 minutes
4) Collect presents while following him -> may take 4-5 times, but not hard and not much time consuming
5) Open X presents -> no need to pay attention to that one, you’ll get it automatically somewhen
6) Kill X toys -> do Trixx or Toypocalypse once
7) Toypocalypse 50 waves -> that’s one run plus 5 or 6 waves in a second run – all in one maybe a hour of work and not hard at all
8) Toypocalypse Dolyak surviving -> you’ll most likely get it at the first try – its actually quite easy to keep all five dolyaks alive
9) Tixx dungeon completed -> I did it solo and it actually took some time. Do it in a group of five and it will be a piece of cake
10) Tixx everything destroyed -> frustrating if you missed something, but in a way kinda funny. Do it with a group after the boss is defeated to make it easier.
11) 500 correct notes -> most of you think that’s the hardest one. Every song (6 songs per loop) maybe has ~20-25 notes. I needed 4x 6 songs (minus a few where I started midway in a loop), so less then 40 minutes.
Seriously, you have four weeks. There’s no need to freak out after two days. Play only two hours every WEEK and it’s easily doable.

haha i will not play bell chore bs so goodbye meta for me. O well, good there are more nice games out now coz GW2 have absolute nothing to offer in this christmas.
(edited by met.9653)
ANet changed the game to an achievement grind fest for almost everyone when they introduced the achievement rewards and living story meta rewards.
I have never seen any other MMO that so much of the rewards depended on the achievements points…At the end its just a number but some dev had this bright idea to turn turn everything into the d@mn achievements.
So the latest word I’ve heard is that the repeatable achievements DO count towards the meta, but only the first completion. So that should at least give those of you who don’t like Bell Choir/Winter Wonderland/Toypocalypse/Snowball Mayhem a bit more breathing room.

Perhaps the meaning of the word “achievement” is lost to you. Maybe this will help.

unfortunately they don’t, i just checked with winter wonterland mastery

Why is that even a question? Wintersday meta lists every achievement that counts for completion. Repeatable/daily achievements are not listed.

I really dislike that the recent Meta Achievements give you no more choices in which achievements you want to do in order to get it. I was the worst when I had trumpet lessons (I once “accidently” dropped the kitten thing out of utter frustration towards the teacher) and needless to say Bell Choir will only stress me out and give me a headache. I was extra mad when I discovered that my favourite activity, Winter Wonder Land, does not even count!

This, and I’m pretty surprised this thread didn’t get more replies. It was pretty nice to have festival dailies count towards the meta for other festivals.

Yes it does, it just only counts once and can be done indefinitely. There are more than enough options, outside of dailies to get the meta without doing a couple things you have no interest in.
|Daredevil|Ranger|Guardian|Scrapper|Necromancer|Berserker|Dragonhunter|Mesmer|Elementalist
|Deadeye|Warrior|Herald|Daredevil|Reaper|Spellbreaker
Infinite achievements do not count as well as the ones in the home instances. Only the ones within Queen’s Pavilion count.
For those who have not seen this yet, clicking on an achievement tends to give more info about it. When you click on the meta achievement, it gives a checklist of the 11 achievements that count.
Apparently I can’t math, nor read. I was hoping to avoid the dungeon this year.

Yeah, me too. I got sick of it after the first year when we had to do it multiple times with no variations other than the type of toys we fought.

The infinite achievements Don’t count. I did the toypocalypse one. Started with 7, still had 7 when I finished.

It would appear that you haven’t read the requirements for the meta. It quite clearly lists the achievements that have to be completed. It even checks them off as you do them.
I’ve been frustrated with this for the last couple hours and only now decided to check the forum to see what I’m missing. If the meta says complete 11 events, and I’ve got 12 from the festival category completed then I should have the meta done. Especially since in all other previous releases even the dailies counted towards the meta. The hidden list that you have to pull up the meta to see is frustrating.

I actually didn’t realise that clicking on the meta-achievement actually shows which ones counted. Nice of ANet to add this in, but they should have mentioned it in the release notes.
