Anet doesn’t like anything negative about their precious living story, so they delete all threads that have any form of negativity so only threads with positive kitten about living story remains, making it seem like everyone likes the living story
Anything negative gets the entire thread deleted or closed.

If you want to say anything negative best off posting it on a unofficial website or make a funny rant video, preferably involving cats doing stupid but cute stuff…
There are literally dozens upon dozens of threads just like these, and some of them are worse. If these were constructive (some of them have their moments), then one of the things people would do is offer solutions. A lot of this is just overall complaining or arguing about complaining.
This post (from an active thread): “No! Get rid of the stupid scarlet crap now.Ugly content with rewards which are dreadful is not conducive to fun gameplay.”
Is really similar to this post (from the thread in question): “Yes that is such a garbage reward getting Scarlet story for all of that collecting.”
It’s worthy to note that in both threads there are instances of negativity and constructive criticism.
They very much allow criticism, but it must be constructive.
The thread in question was basically: “I hate this content, you suck for making this content” and that is not very constructive, thus it was removed.
Arenanet has made it very clear that they are willing to listen to constructive criticism, look at the marionette “lanes” and the people in pvp wanting the game to be LoL.
Cut them some slack, do you honestly think “I can design a game better”

They have stated time and time again, they love criticism but not when you get ignorant and nasty about it. Not a hard concept to understand.
But….but these are the GW2 forums! Clearly EVERYTHING is ALWAYS a conspiracy seeking to silence the player base! I mean it’s not like people defending Anet ever get their posts deleted!

I’ve only seen threads that are deemed as “not allowing for discussion” closed with a Moderator note stating as such…not straight up deleted. Even in threads where there are responses, yet the OP gets deleted/infracted remain visible even if they are also closed. Complete removal of a thread where the discussions taking place therein were not even volatile or even off topic is not something I’ve noticed as happening. I’m wondering if the Moderator accidentally hit the delete button instead of the close button for the thread. Only threads I see completely removed are ones that discuss exploits, and I agree with their removal. Threads stating they just don’t like the content get closed.
I’ve seen blatantly nasty and outright adversarial threads get deleted quickly, mostly with a note in my PMs how a topic was moved to “trashcan”.
So if you want to start giving criticism, try to sound like there’s some substance to your thread rather than “you suck LOLOLOLOL” . . . and that it’s not one of two hundred threads, otherwise it’s a merged thread in the future.

Like others have said before, you are very much allowed to criticize their work, as long as you keep it constructive and at least semi-polite. I know that semi-politeness might be a stretch for some people, but they aren’t going to read a wall of text that repeatedly tells them how much you think they suck. There is no point in that, because you are adding nothing to conversation.
