Drop rate on silver doubloons?
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
That drop rate sounds about right to me. I have 4 characters parked, and can often go few days without getting a doubloon. I would say I typically get a doubloon every 3-4 days, so maybe a 1 in 30 chance.
You didn’t say which jumping puzzle you’re using. Weyandt’s Revenge is the best one if you’re not already using it, as it has 2 chances to drop a doubloon compared to 1 anywhere else.
I’ve found it is more efficient to farm Dredge in Lornar’s Pass. The Miner’s Bags they drop have a 1.24% chance to drop Silver Doubloons, independent from your character level.
I have 2 lvl 21’s parked in a JP.
The chances is being very random lately, for 15 days I got none and then for 3 days in a row I got 2 doubloons each and next day only 1 got it.
I get about 9 silver doubloons per month.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
After I realised I had a level 21 character I didn’t want to delete but wasn’t really using I decided to park them at the end of a jumping puzzle to farm silver doubloons.
After 8 days I’ve gotten 1 of them.
I know it’s random, but I’m just curious whether anyone knows what the approximate drop rate is. The discussions I’ve seen made me think most people get a doubloon every other day or so, which makes me wonder if I’ve misunderstood or if I’m just having bad luck.
1-3/week per character sounds about right.
I just got my first one from a jumping puzzle chest after parking a level 22 there and opening every day for 32 days.
RNG is RNG, no matter how cruel.
I have 7 lvl 22s parked at Weyandt’s Revenge i don’t have exact numbers but I’d estimate i get about ~9/week across all 7 chars.
Thanks everyone.
I am using Weyandt’s Revenge. I didn’t know it was actually better, it just seemed convenient so I thought I’d start there and move if I thought I needed to.
I also didn’t factor in that some people reporting drop rates may have been grouping multiple characters together. But at least I know what to expect now. And even the blues and greens and the odd gem stone are better than the nothing I got when that character was just stood in Lion’s Arch.
