Hi guys, My main is a Guardian and i wish to make an alt. I like both the elementalist and the ranger, they both look so good to me. So guys can u tell the the difference, the pros and cons, wat they r good at and wat they r bad at, so i can pick my alt.

No Classes are good or bad.
The Best classes are the ones you like the most and play the best at.

Elementalist are extremely powerful if played right.

But Yes, Ranger is easy to play, also one of the most overpowered DPS wise if used right.
But that’s just my opinion. Just give them a try and see which you like the most.

I think I peed a little. Elementalists weak? They are the most versatile class in the game and can do ANYTHING and they can do it well.

I was using combos and putting down conditions, never could get a decent damage burst over 1000 damage total. Couldn’t withstand damage either.

Got bored of being weak, and a liability, and deleted it at lvl 72. A total waste of my time.

Make a profession, go to the mists and try it out there. See how you like it. You will have all weapons, skills, and traits available to you there so you can get some idea of how they do. As to having other people recommend for you, it doesn’t work out well. I know the ele is powerful with a skilled person but I found it weak and stressful to play (obviously not skilled with ele). Some people like ranger a lot, others find it a snooze fest. It all comes down to the play style you like. If you like high maintenance, then ele. If you like more laid back with positioning, then ranger.

Just because you can’t play a class doesn’t mean it’s weak…

You should search Dungeon forums for “ranger” and read ranger forums to base an broad opinion. Some of these classes might require additional things you might want to consider

Depends I got bored of my Ranger soon, while I love my ele

A friend of mine hates Eles but loves rangers.

IMO Rangers are easy to play and as strong on lvl 1 as on lvl 80

Eles are weak on lvl 1 but stronger on lvl 80 and requires alot more player input, is alot more dynamic and in that way also harder if you don’t like moving swapping attunements.

You should also check this video out which should also help you into choosing a profession. It doesnt show you Elementalsit or Ranger but it teaches you how the Combat mechanics function so when you ever do decide to choose a Profession, you know what they can do based on how the Combat system works:
