Help me color my Sylvari? I'm colorblind.
Your Sylvari is actually purple/pink rather than yellow/green.
I messed around in the Preview screen and I think Pastel Lemon (light yellow) and Nectar (a bit darker light yellow) are the closest yellows (because the Pale Tree has some darker and lighter yellows). The green seems close to Olive Ice (light green). That being said, I only have a light colored Sylvari so I can’t compare the colors on that armor outside of the preview screen, nor stand next to the Pale Tree to compare.
Melanie, your colour palette matches the Avatar of the Tree, but I think Zoberraz wanted to match the tree itself.
This is the best image of the tree I could find on google, unfortunately the aerial perspective changes the colours a bit.
Oh! I always forget the Avatar is not the actual Pale Tree, haha. :P I’ll go and browse some dyes.
Edit: I think Rose Ice (light pink) and Blurple (purple) are closest.

Hey Zo,
This is my interpretation of the Pale Tree. All the colors used were shown in the video as well. http://youtu.be/157BmHIKVDM

Thank you for posting in to help me!
From what I understood, Melanie suggested mimicking the leaves with Blurple for the center and Rose Ice for the outer edges.
Iris (thank you so much for taking the time to make a video for me!) seemed to propose the following:
- Shoulders
Primary: Summer Thistle
Secondary: Pastel Rose
- Coat
Primary: Pastel Wine
Secondary: Iris Blush
Tertiary: Violet
- Gloves
Primary: Veronica
Secondary: Summer Thistle
Tertiary: Veronica
- Leggings
Primary: Pastel Wine
Secondary: Starry Night
Tertiary: Evening
- Boots
Primary: Pastel Wine
Secondary: Summer Thistle
Tertiary: Phlox
- Skin pattern
Pattern Color: Black Maple
Glow Color: Streamlet
- Hair Color: Shy Iris
Though the outfits worn didn’t exactly match, I did think the composition was nice and reminiscent of the tree’s foliage. I’m not clear on the skin and eye color.
Maxwell was right in regard to how the distance and perspective changes made the Pale Tree’s coloring look different. The attached picture shows an example of the leaves and tree limbs from closer (though there’s a bit of a glow effect on them in this area, but it didn’t so invasive as to widely alter the color).
What I’d like to know now is which color would match the treebark of the Pale Tree, as well as what color would match the crystal that makes most of the Warden weapons (like the greatsword in Sylviana’s back).
Hey Zo,
You listed all of them right. I picked Streamlet as the blue that can match the crystal of your warden weapons while Shy Iris both Black Maple are very subdue colors which looks like the tree bark under the blue mist. I used different shades of purple/rose/pink/violet to mimic the delicate and prismatic change of the Pale tree’s leaves. I aimed for the harmony of all colors so that the gentle sophistication of the Pale tree can be preserved.

Sorry. My reply here is a bit belated. I wanted to wait some until I could accumulate the resources to implement some of the changes proposed by the kind people whom offered assistance to me.
Below is a picture of Sylviana as she is now. It’s actually pretty close to the colors shown by Iris Ng, though I did tone down the color of the thighs some – they felt too bright.
Not that this detracts much from the end result. Most of the leafy parts of Sylviana’s outfit as this nice healthy glow that make her stand out without making her as glaringly bright as some other characters I’ve seen. It’s pretty enough for me not to envy too much those people that managed to get the bio-luminescent armor out of the Silverwastes.
Going Black Maple was too dark to my liking – I wasn’t used to Syl’s face looking so dark over the years I played her, and I thought it’d be good to have some contrast anyways (treebark is rarely the same color as the leaves of a tree anyhow). I chose to stick with ‘Oak’ as skin color for her since it’d match the wood of Sylviana’s warden weapons more closely.
Again, thanks a lot for having helped me. It was very appreciated.
