If you already have a crafting profession at 500, what is the rough estimate to getting full ascended?

Spidy actually lays this out really well for individual pieces, assuming that you have no mats to start with. For example, Zojja’s Doublet would currently cost around 102g.

I’d never bothered to do the math for the full cost of one armor piece…. just grimmaced and got irritated during making daily damask. That is insane and honestly outrageous. :/

60-100g per piece at a guess, I really haven’t looked into ascended prices in a number of months.

Expensive enough that I’m focusing on just crafting the things I need one day at a time. The bulk of the cost lies in the T7 materials like Damask, but if you just focus on making one every few days, it won’t seem so bad.

armor is probably not worth it…..unless you just let the mats come to you over time (not rush to make the set)…………..weapons are very much worth it tho.

Chaos Organ (Ele), Pistol Opera (Thief), Modular Man (Eng)
MARA (EU) Gunnar’s Hold

Weapons are about 50-60g, armor is 50-60g per piece but it’s a lot more for light armor because they require more damask which needs tons and tons of silk.

I would prioritize getting weapons first and then armor in the far future; as getting runes for the armor can be an expensive endeavor in and of itself. You can also just prioritize the chest/gloves/boots piece as those have the biggest stat boosts.

Oh, since it’ll take a while to craft stuff, I’d suggest to put out a ton of buy orders in advance instead of just using the buy price on the tp.

You can also hope to get lucky with some Ascended box drops from end-game content too. I’ve gotten an Ebonmane’s chest from WvW and a Tequatl’s Horde before; 2 less Ascended weapons for me to craft!

One trick to know the materials needed, go to the wiki, find the piece you want to make (for example http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Zojja%27s_Claymore ) and then click on “show base ingredients” to get a list of what you’ll need.

Using that example, asuming you’d have to buy everything from the TP (which isn’t unreasonale to expect if you’re making more than one ascended piece at a time, one will probably use most of your materials unless you have a LOT of them stored in your bank), it’d take roughly 90g to craft Zojja’s Claymore, not taking into account the account bound ascended materials that you’d need to farm yourself (empyreal fragments, dragonite ore and so on) and the cost of exotic gear to salvage to get the globs of dark matter.

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
