I am poor... How do I make the shiny
dungeons. They reward from 1 to 3 gold per completition.

Gather everything and sell it.
Dump your banked collectables onto the TP if you’re not using them for crafting.
Also, don’t do crafting.
As much as I hate to say it, run Frostgorge’s champ train for an hour. You’ll net yourself a couple gold and maybe get a decent drop.

You invest.
There’s a few ways to make the shinnies… you could….
Do Champ Trains.. sell any rare/exotic item you get…
Do Dungeons.. lots and lots of dungeons since completing an explorable path in a dungeon for the 1st time gives lots of money.
You could sPVP. Winning a Team Arena match gives about 30s per win (cap of 15g per day) and Solo arena gives 25s per win.
Also you could play the trading post, get used to buying items low and selling them high(it’s basically like a virtual stock market).
Just a few examples.
Early on your best bets are:
1. Selling all crafting materials.
2. Doing all higher level map completions and selling the stuff you get.
3. Running Dungeons for the daily gold payout.
4. Champion train in either Queensdale or Frostgorge Sound.
Don’t worry about it. It’s not real.
I’ve been in the game about a year, never worried about the gold or the legendaries or any of the other stuff. I’ve got about 500g in my inventory right now. I guess I could buy stuff with it, but why bother? None of it’s real.
WvW ftw.
I just do dungeons, FotM. That makes enough gold for me, and I never have to “grind” for it in an Event-Train or such. Whenever I need a few extra gold, I just sell the 3 bottom rows of crafting materials in my collections-tab in the bank, and make a ton of money.

Gw2 is a masterpiece at it’s foundation. Content-wise however…
Play more, and/or spend less.
Do daily boss fights (and especially the marionette right now), sell all the yellow items on the TP.
It’ll pile up.

Do dungeons, my daily rotation is AC 1 and 3, CoF 1 and SE 1 just because I don’t have much more time. This takes like 1 hour and yields me 5,8g only from the dungeon end rewards on top of that I get drops and dungeon tokens which can be turned into money aswell
Don’t do champtrains, they are dull and not effective at all.
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
I do AC (all paths) then CoF (all paths) that nets me about 9g and some silver per day, i do wvw too, bought the salvag-o-matic and just salvage everything that is under rare status, ( for rares i use mystic salvage kit) all this during the week and on sundays i check my collections tab in the bank and sell any mats that are not T6. You can sell the T6, i dont couse im saving them up for legendary wep. Also after u get all your ascended trinkets you can use your laurels to buy heavy crafting bags, they drop nice T6 mats and usually with 2 or 3 of the bags u can get over 1g (each bag costs 1 laurel). Also if you find a group for Arah dungeon join them ASAP ( not the ones that sell the path, people that do it just for the fun or the gold at the end of the dungeon :P) and do p1 p2 p4..that another 9g for ya in 1 day
If it takes you 4 hours a day to make the gold, you might also just go work somewhere for 3 hours a day and buy the gold with gems.

During GW1 I saw a very interesting guide on how to make gold. The basic essence is that there are some things to do in the game that is more profitable then others, but it is not an instant way to success.
The key to making gold is to set goals and sticking to them.
I assume you are not gathering gold just stock pile it but cause there is something you want. So first it is important to identify that object (aka shiny)
The second step is to stick to the goal and not get tempted by other things..
Just an example. My shiny has a name. It is called Eternity. I have been gathering money and other valuables now for a long time to get it (and off course having lots of fun playing the game in the meantime). On the path I got several other temptations. Some I did fall for. But always realize that in doing so your big goal will take longer.
In many casyes you have to say no to yourself. I did get an asended weapon for my main toon. But when it comes to equipping my alts andequipping secondary weapons sets with ascended as well as getting ascended armor I have decided to let it go. The amount of resources and money goes into it would mean several months delay in my ultimate goal.
So I’ll get the other ascended items when I get eternity and not sooner.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
If it takes you 4 hours a day to make the gold, you might also just go work somewhere for 3 hours a day and buy the gold with gems.
You might… But then what’s the point of even playing the game?

People enjoy playing certain aspects of the game and may not enjoy doing dungeon runs or champion trains. So they play the part they enjoy and instead of forcing themselves to do something they don’t they just buy it with cash.
I use to have 18g…. then I bought a few things and now I have about 62s… but everyone else seem to be getting tons of gold from their buts… So basically, how do I make the shinnies??
Yes you are right bro. I pull 20g/day out of my butt. All i have to do is close my eyes and think about it.
Speed dungeon runs are probably the fastest way. Gathering rare materials can also be fairly profitable. GW2 nodes is often useful in this endeavor.
“Youre lips are movin and youre complaining about something thats wingeing.”
Sell crafting materials. Thats one of the best ways I know. you can also do the champ train and sell the items you get. or WvW tends to have some good drops for me that I sell
On Borlis Pass we always do 2-3 Temple runs a day, can be fun way to make money if you don’t want to run alone or like big groups of people.
buying low and selling high is good but you need to keep track and also you need to play it safe since putting your stuff too high is not gonna cut it.
I advise you to sell the stuff that you get from drops.
Everytime you look in your inventory you will see that certain items will say [unusable weapon/armor for your profession] or something to that extent.
If you right click on it you will have the option to sell at trading post.
At the moment of selling it will give you the option of setting your own price. As a rule I set it at 20 Silver over its real value, whatever the price is or whatever item just set 20 Silver over.
It is not gonna make you game rich but it will sustain your future operations [traveling, repairs and so forth]
- there’s stuff you cant sell at the trading post, you will have to sell that to an NPC and as a last resort destroy it
